AFTERBUZZ TV - AfterBuzz TV's Spotlight On edition, is a long form interview series featuring actors and TV personalities discussing their roles and shows as well as their thoughts, passions and journeys. In this episode hosts AJ Gibson and JJ Jurgens interview actors Camryn Grimes, Hunter King and Melissa Ordway from CBS' soap opera Young and the Restless.
The Young and the Restless (often abbreviated as Y&R) is an American television soap opera created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell for CBS. The show is set in a fictional Wisconsin town called Genoa City, which is unlike and unrelated to the real life village of the same name, Genoa City, Wisconsin. First broadcast on March 26, 1973, The Young and the Restless was originally broadcast as half-hour episodes, five times a week. It expanded to one hour episodes on February 4, 1980. In 2006, the series began airing encore episodes weeknights on SOAPnet until 2013, when Y&R moved to Pop. Pop still airs the encore episodes on weeknights, starting July 1, 2013. The series is also syndicated internationally.
The Young and the Restless originally focused on two core families: the wealthy Brooks family and the working class Foster family. After a series of recasts and departures in the early 1980s, all the original characters except Jill Foster Abbott were written out. Bell replaced them with the new core families, the Abbotts and the Williamses. Over the years, other families such as the Newmans, Winters, and the Baldwin-Fishers were introduced. Despite these changes, one storyline that has endured through almost the show's entire run is the feud between Jill Abbott Fenmore and Katherine Chancellor, the longest rivalry on any American soap opera.

Wait have I.missed other Abtv of Y&R in the past? This week has been awesome for the show! Loyal fan since high school & use to.schedule my college classes around Y&R! Now in my career and I still never miss a show even if I watch later on the CBS app!

Aww they are all so adorbz. I love the younger set and I'm glad they are finally in an interesting storyline.
I'm glad Melissa is being utilized. Abby is one of my favorite characters and it was becoming tiresome watching her used as a prop. She's such a brilliant actress with wonderful comedic timing -- something of which she shares with Camryn (whom I adore).
If someone had told my 17 year old self while she was mourning Cassie, that BB had a twin and that one day they were going to pair her with the likes of Kevin I would have gone batshat. But ZOMG Greg and Camryn's chemistry is undeniable, but now I'm curious as to what Mariah and NuKyle's interactions will be like. I'm intrigued. But I'm so attached to Kevin/Mariah. I'm torn!
I had to LOL at Hunter lamenting over the fans rolling their eyes at Summer and her crying. So hilarious, because there are so many threads on soapcentral devoted to 'oy-vey snowflake is whining again.' So true. Poor thing. It's just that she's Phyllis's daughter, so the fans tend to be a little harder on her. Most expected a spitfire and instead we got princess tantrum. Hunter is a wonderful actress, but every time we see Summer - she's crying about something. Hence the hate. It's so 'been there, done that', that when something that warrants tears finally happens to her, viewers become unsympathetic. It's unfair, but hopefully with the new writer that will change that, because Y&R has been on FIRE as of late. I am loving the new storylines (my favorite is the current drugging-at-the-cabin-turned-murder mystery storyline) and how all of the characters are delving into the unexpected (I.E. Abby sneaking around with Austin; Hilary going full HilAnn on Neil; Cane pissed with Lliy for once; etc...)
Great aftershow -- I wished this was a monthly or even a weekly thing. Y&R deserves it.

I like the recast of Phyllis, although I miss the original gal. I cannot get used to the "new" Billy. I adored the previous one but this Billy just doesn't have something for me to get used to him. Plots lately are all horrendous!
