This is an excellent video. Not just a demo, not just a jam, but a video overall. Well done! Wasn't interested in Ts-L until now... First and last patch is very Aphex Twin.
As a university student in signal processing and having recently picked up music as a hobby, this looks and sounds so exciting and good. As always some greate sounds coming out of this channel :)
Seriously cool vid man, I’ve got the CS-L and tahn modules, ah I might need to pick up a t-sl, if only to have the option for smaller case builds, very similar in tone to the bottom channel of the CS-L Check out the tahn, the concept behind the design is fascinating but in practical use it’s quickly become indispensable, to the point I’m thinking of picking up two more
I know this video was 3 years ago, so this may not get picked up or you may have no recollection, but you may know generally... How did you mitigate the timing issue caused by one 1 V/oct sequence shared between multiple gate sequences, to avoid the note change glitch effect when the pitch changes mid gate. I get the sense that you used very short gate times for most sounds to to compensate for this, but there are some longer gates but you don't exhibit the same horrible effect I get when replicating 😂😂. Did you slew the pitch info to soften the effect? I know you can use S&H if using multiple oscillators, but this is one oscillator with multiple outs. BTW, when I 1st watched this 2 or so years ago, I bought the TSL and never looked back.
I love the module, I have just built a Behringer system 100 do you think this would work well with that? You also sound like Jesse on that program with Walter White about making drugs 🙂
How's the Quadrax? Are the envelopes snappy like a Maths (they sound like it here big time)? Loving your modular videos. you are amazingly prolific (and talented). Thanks for the great content!
Hi Jeremy, I'm watching your channel for a long time now and i have to say that you always blow my mind with your freshest additions to your Mod Setup❤ What would you recommend to start with for a bloody beginner in Modular Section?😅
@@RedMeansRecording I'm a Hobby producer, ive started about 15 yrs ago with The Acid 4 series by Sony (by now owned from Magix Corp.) and I'd love to get a step further and start to produce with modular sythesis, I've produced some tacks with the "Blocks" modules from Native Instruments along with the program "Maschine" and "Maschine Jam" as it was released, i used it for most of the time in the melodic sections of my tracks, but since my laptop got stolen on a party this year and i decided to go analogue... but there are massive amounts of Modular Systems out there and as i asked before i'd like to know your opinion with which manufacturer would be good to start with on a low budget.😅 I'm even thinking about a rack to take it with me for live sets. Ps. I also have an Radio Show called "Basshouse" in a University in St.Pölten here in Austria. cba.fro.at/basshouse I wish you continued success with your channel, Keep up the good stuff👍 😉 Best greetings from Austria Jack aka Tacita Melodiam
I'm so torn about what to buy, do I upgrade my record player and speakers, buy more records, invest in a better 1440P monitor, or do I build a modular?
@@nathanbell6962 Pinnacle of first world problems, I've been saving up a long time and don't get money very often. I've narrowed down my major hobbies and interests and these 4 options are what I'm left with.
@@ExtremeMetal I would say buildng a modular is much more expensive than a new monitor. So buy a monitor. these are tough times and better to save at the moment.
@@nathanbell6962 I'm thinking about building the modules myself, it is doable and would probably cost me half as much as buying off the shelf components, it's still very expensive and I'm not sure if I'm serious enough to invest in such a complex instrument. I might see if I can snag a cheap semi modular and go from there.
Hello Amazing video as usual 😉 I need your help ! Here is my problem : I currently have a Make Noise O'coast in my rack but i need to save space so im thinking to sell it... I really love the sound of the O'coast specially the (VCO/multiply/overdrive) part. Before selling it i try to find the best way to reproduce this sound with a less hp VCO. I have also a Make Noise STO but i dont obtain the same spirit with him... Hearing your Instruo Tsl démo remind me the O'coast 😳 maybe im wrong but can be the solution im looking for. - Do you think my hears are right ? - Do you think the tsl is better than the Make Noise STO ? I know for sure than the waveshape part is way better and complex on the instruo. Thanks in advance.
love instruo. The Cs-L (Ts-Ls bigger brother) has been on my eurorack list for a while. out of interest, is there a reason you specifically got the first rene over the more recent version? given that you relatively recently got into eurorack that had to have been intentional
Not ashamed to say that your Modular Monday videos are one of the highlights of my week now.
God me too, haha
I love how much this VCO is capable of for the compact HP it takes up. The sound is right up my alley.
Fascinating, as always, to watch you make music with whatever tools you're demonstrating. Cool stuff, Jeremy!
I LOVE MODULAR MONDAY. So much information and goodies being crammed into my brainsies.

Gotta love the CC on modular videos

Those basses sound so phat, dang. Loving the series!
Thank you, Instruo! Please let him borrow more modules.
Seriously sweet sounds. Going to take a good look at the TS-L, I already was interested in the CS-L. Instruo look so damn nice too.
easily the best vco ever
Love my Ts-L. I highly recommend pairing it with a Make Noise Lxd.
excellent video... some great general patching tips as well as demo-ing the sound of this thing
Ahhh 7:20 made my brain hurt. It was so good I had to go back again and again.
Man that macro ambient patch 2 with the various envelopes controlling different wave outputs sounded great.
great demo, and great usage of the many outputs!! Hard to believe that all those sounds come from just one oscillator!
That's a pretty great demo of the TS-L Jeremy! I just received mine and I think it sounds fantastic, particularly that wavefolder output, oh man...
This had some fatty juicy scrunchy raw and savory audio-morsels, real fun setup in your hands!
not even a full 2 minutes in the video and i already want to get into modular, and i dont even make music at all lol
Seriously good video, really enjoyed that
Great sounds! I'm looking at the Instruo Tona for a new oscillator and may have to consider the Ts-L instead.
Wavefolding is like a sexy trigger for me now
Your modular jams are top notch, my fellow! I hope that super saw oscillator Instruo just released will find its way into your rack.
oh yeah, that one is a beaut
A patch from scratch video from you would be truly interesting..
Very cool demo! Thanks for sharing
Waiting for my Tšl to arrive...super psyched!!! very nice tunes btw man =)
I created my best kicks with the Instruo Ts-L, one of my favorite modules.
Them instruo are so mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Instruo makes awesome modules...
More techno! Yay! How you've managed to stay away from the Tanzbar 2 is beyond me.
dang I need one ... great video keep up the great work`s man ;)
I now need several more modules. And a cat.
I'm considering a cat. But I've been waiting for the vacuuming model.

awesome jams and great explained :)
So this just makes me think I need to sell all my kit and start over.
Simply great.

this, as ever, slaps.

Damn.
BRO. When does "Macro Patch 03" come out on vinyl? Can I like just go ahead and pre-order that right now? Serious fire!!

Yeah... I have to get a modular setup
💯
I seriously need to get into modular!

This patch ist very nice! Super flexible module the tsL if you know how to use it. My question is, the whole rhythm is sequenced by the rene ?
I really wish modular wasn't so damn expensive or I was a millionaire. At least VCV rack exists.

You need to define what you want to do with modular before you start buying stuff.

Sounds great mate. Can I ask what filter you are using and if the different outputs are filtered separately or all running though the same one?

That was fun :) Have you tried MI Marbles yet?
cool stuff, what mixer you have in the top right corner?
is that a Plaits clone?
In the final macro patch, is the FM not impacting all of TS-L's outputs, or does it maybe just sound that way because of varying gate patterns?
Is this similar to a single Osc of the CS-L? Thinking of binning my STO for this one.. What you all think?
What scale are you playing in the beginning?
What is the module on the top right corner with these little faders ?
im pretty sure its pronouced Vin ka not Vin sa
what is the vinca module?
vca!
Red Means Recording i see. anything distinct about this dual vca?
What case is that ?
Trogotronic
What is the táin module?!?!?
dual switch + latch
Do you realise, modular synthesis is a mental illness....🤪
