Should You Buy A Panerai In 2023?!

- Panerai has the hearts of many including mine!! But lately Panerai has done some not so smart things and it's time for me to criticize them. If you guys want a thorough detailed review of this particular Panerai let me know down in the comment section below.
My wife wanted a new watch for her birthday. We visited three boutiques: Rolex, Tudor and Panerai. At the Rolex boutique she tried on a DateJust and liked it, but didn't love it. At the Tudor boutique she tried on a Tudor Royal and again, she liked it but didn't love it. Our last stop was the Panerai boutique where she tried on a Panerai 1248 Due 38MM with a sun-brushed sandwich dial, and stunning Alligator Arancia Rossa (red) strap. This is the one she said and we bought it on the spot. Clearly, Panerai is doing something right.
Congratulations on her watch! I didn’t say panerai isn’t doing anything right. I think they are fantastic i just pointed out a few things i find the brand is doing wrong. And why many people turn away from the brand lately
Just buy it if you like it, stop thinking about being special or not, special for who?? If it is special for you then is good enough, I just got my first Panerai after buying a ton of Rolex, Cartier and omega and I can tell you that it excites me way more than the rest of my collection which includes 45k USD watches, PAM00915 for anyone that is looking for a first Panerai, crown guard, 300m water resistant, hand wound with 8 days of power reserve and a sandwich dial, everything that a Panerai needs.

I would not buy a brand new Panerai. Around 2020 they killed off the exhibition caseback and cheaped out on decorating the movement because it’s now a solid caseback and you can’t see it anyway. They got rid of the hacking seconds too. I bought a ~2018-2019 PAM1392 Luminor 1950. I sought it out because it is a 42 which will fit me better. My suggestion is buy a pre 2020 model, have a superior watch, and save a few thousand too.
In effect, Panerai updates are downgrades.

Tried a Rolex OP41, it’s nice, not nice enough to make me pull the trigger.
Tried the Tudor Pepsi. It’s a nice watch, but it’s so underwhelming to a point I don’t think it’s worth the price.
Tried a Panerai, PAM01176 ceramic case, titanium case back, limited edition, beautiful grey/black dial finish that changes color under different lighting condition, blue touches. 288 pieces. love at first sight, it made me pulled the trigger.
I did all this without doing the homework, and I did that on purpose.
I think people are just hating on the brand because everyone else on the internet said so, those are the same people who are sheeps, and believes now a days you NEED to wear a smaller watch because every else said you should.

Panerai would sell on it's own but the company keeps lying and cheating it's customers. Who needs that kind of disrespect?
Have they lied or cheated outside of that Brooklyn bridge thing?
@@WatchUnwind They quietly removed features and left the original specs on the website, only discovered when a customer questioned the function of his new watch. When called out on the secret removal of the hacking function, they claimed that it was an upgrade.
They claimed an entirely new in house movement only to let buyers discover that it was not an in house design, kinda like Bremont.
It also appears that they acknowledge counterfeit Panerai as genuine on their social media.
Brooklyn Bridge should be enough to show that Panerai management holds their customers in contempt. The follow up scandals press that point home.

I like the limited editions. Mine is 402/500. I ram its serial number through the Panerai database and it came back to my watch.
You are totally right, we don't care about new models with gold and waterproof 30 m dress watches. We want tough watch italian style, in stainless, no ceramic, 300 m water resistant big and chunky like Pam 111, Fiddy, Submersible and Radiomir as a dress watch.

They have made 42mm case Luminors with 300m for decades. They just recently made those watches with 30m wr

Hi Roman. Great review. Can I please ask your wrist's size? I worry I will feel the same as you and think sometimes it will be to large. I am considering buying the Pam1313, which has same dimensions as yours. I have 17.6cm, 6.9 inch wrists, and am 6 foot three, and I wonder if it will be to large. Thanks. In the shop it looks great ... but out and about I am not so sure.
6.9 is my wrist too. But I’m 5’9”. I wear this watch most often out of all my watches and it’s amazing. I think it will look great on you too! Let me know if u decide to get it. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
