- The songs of Gilbert & Sullivan are lighting up the Berkshires, where a new version of the classic operetta The Pirates of Penzance is beginning a run at Barrington Stage Company. Directed by Tony winner John Rando, the starry cast includes Broadway favorites like Will Swenson and Kyle Dean Massey, alongside veteran West End star Scarlett Strallen. At a press junket, Swenson sang the recognizable Gilbert & Sullivan tune "Oh, Better Far to Live and Die," and he proves all of the number's lyrics true. Not only is it a glorious thing to see him as a Pirate King, but we have to shout "hurrah," as well.

SAME
I couldn't love him more if I tried! He's having so much fun! Holding up the #4 at 0:58 is precious 😍😂
He’s having a lot of fun with this. It’s very enjoyable to watch
Whenever I need a pick me up, I will watch this video and feel better.
This is fantastic! One of the best renditions I have seen of the Pirate King song!
Oh my days, I'm having one of my turns...😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 m xx
My school just finished up Pirates of Penzance and it was amazing and so is this.
Will was fantastic! I'm glad they dug up the audience members because the crowd was dead!
Mitzi Mitosis makes a dashing pirate king.
You and Audra need to do an album together!
They should. I enjoyed seeing them perform together.
Audra is a very lucky lady
And Will is a very lucky man 😋
Yes indeed...😍😍
Oh, better far to live and die
Under the brave black flag I fly,
Than play a sanctimonious part,
With a pirate head and a pirate heart.
Away to the cheating world go you,
Where pirates all are well-to-do;
But I’ll be true to the song I sing,
And live and die a Pirate King.
For I am a Pirate King!
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King!
For I am a Pirate King!
Chorus.
You are!
Hurrah for our Pirate King!
King.
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King.
Chorus.
It is!
Hurrah for our Pirate King!
King & Chorus.
Hurrah for the/our Pirate King!
King. Darrell Fancourt as the Pirate King
1926
When I sally forth to seek my prey
I help myself in a royal way.
I sink a few more ships, it’s true,
Than a well-bred monarch ought to do;
But many a king on a first-class throne,
If he wants to call his crown his own,
Must manage somehow to get through
More dirty work than ever I do,
For I am a Pirate King!
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King!
For I am a Pirate King!
Chorus.
You are!
Hurrah for the Pirate King!
King.
And it is, it is a glorious thing
To be a Pirate King.
Chorus.
It is!
Hurrah for our Pirate King!
King & Chorus.
Hurrah for the/our Pirate King
