    For me, this is the perfect Benz. You can buy the regular GLC Coupe (it's like a truck) for only $45,000. My 2002 Mercedes Benz truck has lasted me 15 years and it is in perfect condition. It is 100% reliable with no mechanical problems. It looks and rides as if it is only 1 year old. An incredible investment if you take care of the car.

    Interesting option. Looks good enough, and might be just right for those who don't want to be driving just another C300 or E300 4 Matic, and want to stand out from the crowd

    Excellent review and nice looking car. But I don't think a 4 cylinder belongs in this. I know why they do it. But nah.

      Unfortunately, 4 and small 6 cylinders are the wave of the future until electrics take over. Just not the same as V8...

      The bi-turbo v6 comes in the GLC43 AMG and has 360 hp. A bi-turbo v8 comes in the GLC63 AMG and will have around 460 hp.

    I hate what Mercedes and AMG have become. One of those social media Instagram women bought one of these yesterday, an AMG 43 and is desperately trying to show it off like it's a real AMG and sadly it's working for the most part. She posed first showing the back showing the AMG badge but stood in front of the 43 badge so you couldn't see it wasn't a 63. Then she did another pose showing the AMG doorsills. I feel like this model was created specifically for those types of people.

    • @powerofpinesol8002
      @powerofpinesol8002 Před 7 lety

      venom5809 they're real AMG models just not the purest AMG its an AMG more accessible for the people

    • @venom5809
      @venom5809 Před 7 lety

      +VTEC kick in, except it's not, a simple pop of the hood on both models will quickly show that a 63 is a real AMG and a 43 is not. If there is no AMG signed badge in the engine bay it's not an AMG. Even on the Mercedes site the 43 engine is listed as AMG enhanced while the 63 engine is listed as AMG handcrafted. It's like when you see Leica on the lens of the camera on a cellphone, it's tuned by Leica or some nonsense but it's not a Leica lens.

    • @Calimustang86
      @Calimustang86 Před 7 lety +4

      venom5809 why is it of any concern to you? If you're able to afford the 63 variant of whichever model the last thing you're going to complain about is someone else showing off their 43 variant. I don't mean to be rude but I typically almost always find the people who are complaining about this particular concept aren't in the market to buy an AMG anything, let alone a base model Mercedes Benz. It's a non issue. Mercedes isn't worried about what you think about "what AMG has become" because they're busy selling every car they build in every segment.

    • @venom5809
      @venom5809 Před 7 lety

      It's not an AMG and it shouldn't portrayed as an AMG. AMG charges a hefty price premium for exclusivity and this is unfair to people that actually buy the real ones. The entire point of buying an AMG is because you are buying an exclusive product most other people can't, it's not for the performance, most people are stuck in slow moving traffic most of the time anyway. Not that it is important but I have owned AMGs, even owned a 500E. If that girl I mentioned really thought it was an AMG, she wouldn't have gone out of her way to hide the 43 badge now, or hide the side badge or not show the front or the gauges now, would she? If she had a real AMG the first photo she would have shown would have been the engine bay, the first. Nobody spends $110,000 to hear someone that spent $70,000 go "hey man, I've got an AMG just like yours too, the same car dude". You think the guy with the Ferrari F12 thinks he's the same as the guy with a California? You think the guy with the Aventador SV thinks he's the same as the guy with the Huracan? Hell no.

    • @powerofpinesol8002
      @powerofpinesol8002 Před 7 lety +2

      venom5809 dude they're real amg cars. That's like saying the A45 isn't a real amg because it's not overly expensive with an 4 cylinder she obviously just trying to show it's an amg which it is lmao just because you don't like the direction or car itself doesn't make it not what it is lol she probably doesn't even know how to pop the hood to show the engine lmao most people don't

      Buy this regular version of the GLC Benz for only $45,000. The AMG version which cost $70,000, not this car. These cars will last you for 15 years and are very reliable. I have had my Benz, a 2002 year truck with no mechanical problems. It looks as if it is only 1 year old. Great car!

    Mr. Hammes, first off I want to say I love your show and am a long time fan. I think you have the coolest job in the world and you're fantastic at it!
    One little thing I've noticed in a Mercedes video or two, and maybe I'm just seeing it wrong, but it seems like you kick side to side to open the hands-free tailgate. The system is designed to be kicked under the rear star on the bumper, forward and back. Sorry, this is nit picky. I am a product expert at a MB dealership and so immediately see it.
    Again, love you work!
    Nate

      You know, each company presents it quite differently...some have the sensor to the left, some to the center. Some want a back-and-forth and some want side-to-side. But thanks for the info! Appreciate the feedback...I'll have to start checking more specifically by brand.

      Maybe until it has warranty. I had a GL450. It was nothing but a total failure. The air suspension went bad. The engine had too many problems. I can't trust Benz reliability the way I trust Lexus reliability.

    • @georgeklimes
      @georgeklimes Před 7 lety

      Agree with regards to the reliability issue. My issue with Lexus, though, is one of styling and handling. Some of the designs are polarizing, and the handling is relatively sloppier than competitors. However, I think they are doing the right thing handling-wise since the majority of their target demographic is not driving "enthusiastically" and want supreme ride quality.

    • @afa6361
      @afa6361 Před 7 lety +1

      I live in America. I don't remember seeing cars traveling at 100 mph or cornering on large Houston highways. The handling argument becomes irrelevant really quickly. All someone needs is enough power to get on highway or overpass someone if needed.

    • @georgeklimes
      @georgeklimes Před 7 lety +1

      I live in America, too (DC area). People DO drive very "enthusiastically" here (not uncommon to see 80+ MPH speeds on the Beltway) and other places (I go to Florida all the time, and half the people drive like they are in a NASCAR event). Less curves in Florida (and certainly Texas) than here, but drive fast where there are lots of curves, and it makes a huge difference.
      If people are only merging onto highways and slowly overtaking people, then, you're right. But the reality is that many drivers do more than that.
