So glad they mentioned that all of Vince Guaraldi's music is great. I always tell everyone that likes A Charlie Brown Christmas to check out the rest of his catalog.
Awesome band, very underrated
To me, Too Far to Care is one of the best alt country albums of all time.
Hope Sufjan does one of these. Would love to know what some his favorite albums are.
Oh My Gawdd! I literally, no shit, did the same exact thing with Fables of the Reconstruction that this dude did! The same exact thing! Except I had it on cassette. I would set it to play on repeat all night long and fall asleep to it every damn night. I think this guy might be my soul mate. 🤣

They're great, especially their older stuff. Check out Too Far to Care or Fight Songs if you like alt country. It's not that cheesy radio country. Very lyric driven, with great melodies.

They consider themselves a cross between Johnny Cash and the Clash. Their best "straight-ahead rock" record is their prior one, "Most Messed Up," IMHO. Each album is a little different, and they've all got something good (although "Drag It Up" is the weakest, probably). Enjoy!
I would listen to Fight Songs or Too Far to Care. Those are alt country albums with killer lyrics and melodies.
They were THE local band that everyone loved when I was just out of high school n the 90s. They cover so much ground musically. Back then in DFW it was Old 97s, Reverend Horton Heat, and Vallejo
