Man!! Who cares if those amp models are not accurate. They sound AWESOME!!!!
I definitely respect how you are able to put the effort into a product that most people tend to ignore these days and be like "hey, there are a lot of limitations here, but you can actually get good results from this." So many other people just shit all over products and refuse to admit that there can be anything good about it.
The fender sim part was pretty cool.
Same for the classic rock tones.
Extra plus for mentioning the “Nothing” tone
Great tones, but even more.....GREAT PLAYING! Your change of playing styles really suited show casing the tones. Many reviewers are unable to do this.
That Cali Clean with the chorus and reverb sounded so good! Used to love my POD 👌🏼
I’ve been picking up POD Pro’s for $125-155 CDN. Incredible prices for this product. I’ve owned nearly everything from Axe Fx - Helix - Kemper, and for less than Fulltone OCD, the POD is incredible quality!
You earned a subscriber......and I can totally relate-there is some undefined charm in that device(tone at 7:40 is one of the best clean sounds for my taste out of any modeler).
Sometimes cheap stuff can work better than thousands worth of gear.Great video!
Thanks for the vid and the l6t downloads! I have the pocket POD and really enjoy most of them.
Like your videos man. Keep it up.
That Freewill riff was awesome. Nailed it with the playing and the sound.
I used one of these for years and just recently upgraded to a Helix. I probably would still be using the pod if I would have known about the software.
Love this kind of content. Not sure if you've done this but I'd love to see a vid on running overdrive pedals into the various amp models on this pod
I ran Tube Screamer derivatives and EQ pedals in front of the POD 1.0 and 2.0 in a couple videos, namely the shootouts versus contemporary equipment and later POD models. It works about how you would expect them to. They are in my Pedal Head series playlist.
@@PlagueScytheStudios awesome thanks for the heads up
Really useful Video, Cheers. 👍
Thank you very much! I have a line 6 pad pro rack. Today i going to try the soundDive and Line6Monkey soft. I download this softs.... thanks for the presets !
Loved mine. So easy to use.
I've got the original model - been using it for years, and yea: it's just a little practice processor , IMO. But seems like I've never really utilized it to it's full capacity, regarding tones etc.. What's amazing to me is I've had it since 1999 , and I've never ever had any faulty issue with it.
Thanks for the video, I subbed.
The POD 2.0 - man I love them!
14:18 - Justice All 14:45 Zakk Wylde It is the power of Bean that keeps drawing you back.
In 2023 and as a newbie on guitar (and bass), just bought my first toy related. The POD 2.0 makes me keep going. I'm 49 and begining from zero as a player, but this gear motivates me a lot. I'm going to buy an eprom to 2.3 upgrade it. This video is by far the best on web about how amazing it can be for us. Thanks bro.
PoD 2.0 FuzzFace with 1x8 and 4x12 are Sweet.
Nice tones
I just purchased an POD Pro rack version for just $50 and I can’t wait for it to arrive.
I heard the rectifier sound is pretty decent on it
Hey man just picked up one of these the 2.0 version Is it possible to get epic lead tones similar to Bob Kulick from one of these?, especially the sound he has on the Crimson Idol album by WASP
Do you use a regular unbalance guitar cable from the Pod to the interface ? or one of those " Y " type cables to run a stereo signal ?
Greetings! Can You tell me please what is this plugin on 4:17? Does this plugin comes along with POD ? And thak You very much for the demo!
...yep recorded my first EP using a POD bean some 12 years ago. Perfectly happy with the results. Followed that with a charity gig some years later and was happy to see my guitar being plugged into a POD rack unit. I only remember a great sound, the floor board was damn useful as well on the day.
I've been thinking about the pedal boards that line6 has made prior to the Helix. What is your thoughts on the HD500x pedal board? I am probably not the only musician who can't justify the cost of the latest Kemper/AXFX floor boards for jamming at home. Any future video on this ? If not, I completely understand as it takes so much of your time. Thanx for your media.
Check out my POD HD desktop video, it covers all the tones offered by the stock HD500. Add in floorboard functionality and you basically have the same product.
I still have my PODXT that I bought brand new in 2003...I bought the PODXT for myself, and I got the original POD for my son. Its funny...my son was just beginning to play then so I bought him the original POD, today, he owns way more gear than I do. I'm using the new Bias FX II right now and its amazing...I still use the PODXT, just not as much. \m/
OMFG !!!! I HAVE that pedal at my feet !
I have the Pod XT, the Pocket Pod and a Flextone II XL. The Pocket Pod has the most realistic Marshall tones of all three. ( have had two Marshall half stacks when I was young). The other two are a approximation of what people think a Marshall sounds like.
Does the line 6 editor have bypass options for the amp sections on the pod 2.0?
7 min ...good stuff
my favorite POD tone it's sybreed - slave desing and antares guitar tone, i don't know how they nailed that tone but it's so unique man i think it's the best rhythm guitar tone ever made on a line 6 product
I got my xt 2.0 in front of my fender pro 4....love it
How'd you get it to work with line 6 edit?
I have mine hooked up via MIDI and it recognizes the device however...
Mine says pod V1 not supported...😞
What version of line 6 edit do you have installed?
Even the archived versions on the line 6 website do not show support for Pod V1
Uh, that peace of software.. where can I get that 👍😀
I love my hunk of red junk.
Hi, i see that for example on the Treadplate model at 12:20 there is presence knob. That presence knob works the same as the "presence boost " you can do with controls and holding tap? or is actually a presence control that you can only access with L6 software? I've never used L6 edit when i had my 2.0. Thanks
I'm not sure that the presence control does anything barring a couple of amp models. I believe only the presence boost affects the Treadplate, and all other high gain models for that matter.
@@PlagueScytheStudios Thanks! What about that "air" knob. That's another one you can only acces via the software i think.
hi. have you ever tried to get a bass sound without any real bass equipment? I have some stuff kicking around and i'm trying to get some mid scooped bass sound from a bass di with bass treble and presence control, a dbx mic pre and compressor, and a rack graphic eq from alto i got for really cheap. i just feed that into a 15 inch uk made hh PA. it definitely sounds much better then several sub 200$(on a used market) bass amps i've heard and the whole setup except dbx (thinking of changing it for a cheap mic pre or boost and compressor pedal) cost me around a 100$. Do you think its a viable option and is there any room for improvement?
That will certainly work if you're not worried about having the utmost elegant solution. If you're looking for any dirty tones, adding a ProCo RAT clone to the mix is an easy way to do that.
@@PlagueScytheStudios blending rat with a di signal? i m thinking of experimenting with that but i dont know where to start. Tried blending some overdrives with di signal but for some reason midrange and lowend always become very unfocused. sorta like a terrible fuzz tone. And for some reason it felt like 2 different sounds rather then 1 disstorted bass tone. i am dreaming of that absolomb like bass tone. i was thinking of blending with jfet bogner or maybe soldano preamp clones from amt. they have cabsim outs fo it might not sound too fizzzy(my speaker is full range)
What's that editor you're using around 10:22 ?
How do i get that Editor please
can you only find this sounds on the 2.0 or a xt and x3 will do the same ?
You can get comparable sounds, but I prefer the HD for more "detailed" sounds and the 2.0 for its simplicity. Just use the appropriate amp and cabinet models.
I can actually send you Fredrik Thorendal’s POD 2.0 presets if you’re interested. He shared them with me back in the day. His Holdsworth lead sound is the single most fun lead tone to play that the POD can produce.
I would definitely appreciate it! It would be interesting to see how close my own approximations are to his presets.
Hi, can you send me those ? I remember Fredrik posting them in the Tandjent forum back in the day. I have the Impulses of Fredriks and Jocke Skog cabinets that were used with the Vetta 2 amps if you are interested.
I am a hoarder of all things Meshuggah, so I will definitely take those as well!
@@PlagueScytheStudios Sure dude, no problem. Email ?

The slo setting is \m/
There’s definitely something to it. I go back and forth between thinking it sucks then I’ll hear tones that were made about it and I love them. So there’s definitely some dumb psychology going on. Ha. But I know John Browne still enjoys using his pod xt rack. Not sure how much he actually uses it now that he has all those amps now but who knows.
AX 8, please!
The Ziltoid cover was 'fetid'
14:44 I see you recreated Zakk Wylde's tone :D
Is this 2.0 or first version? It looks like a one but cant find where it writes so, so it confusing hell of me. :)
It's an original with 2.0 firmware in this video, though I swap the EEPROM back and forth from time to time for fun.
This one is probably the first generation of POD 2.0 . Because it has the vintage lettering "LINE6“. I have maybe the second gen. with a smaller modern logo
How good is a Vetta II?
It's basically a POD X3 with a power section and a modified signal chain. Meshuggah made some of my favorite processed album tones of the 2000s with them on re:Nothing, Catch 33, I, and ObZen. Compared to any contemporary modeler though, they don't really hold up on their own.
.l6t is possible? ;)
Thx
Done!

If you don’t want to pay 200+ for an original TC pre amp or Grind just get an Airis Tight Pre. Under $100 and is a direct clone of the pre amp. Perfect for Meshuggah riffage.
They're $130 plus shipping now.
Sean Dennis they bumped the price up?
@@TheJMan1K yup, apparently an ugly painted case apparently bumps the price by $60.
Gojira!
Are you using a Pod 2.0? If not then can I be able to get these tones from a pod 2.0?
Yes, this was on 2.3 firmware.
Good old line 6 edit. I’m still salty how you can use both the pod’s physical controls and the controls in Edit at the same time with no issues, yet you can’t on an axe FX.
Might have to dust off my pod pro tomorrow, I haven’t used it in a while now.
How do i install that Edit please
i have a bean & an XT live - IMO the bean produces a much better tone than the XT
The 2.0 and xt are best pods ..
Still love pod 2.0 i bought pod pro and sold it
Ummmmm sounds like shit though.
