- This a video explaining and visually showing how I did the PE exhaust mod on my BMW 335I, but should apply to most BMWs.
The mod itself is fairly simple. You just need basic knowledge of welding and cutting pipe and steel.

Maaaan how can this sound soooo goooood!!! I’m doing it!
Happy 200th subscribers!
Antonio Quiroz thanks a lot man! It means a lot
Well done vid, thanks mate
Great video
This sounds good, but seeing the inside of the mufflers convinced me I don't want a cat back at all and just want to stick with stock mufflers. I don't want a very loud car because I use my car for work and driving to customers, but seeing the inside of the mufflers I realized they flow perfectly fine and don't need to be replaced for performance reasons.
Man, PE mod sounds so fukun good
Too good mate! Will this work on an N52 330i which has only one?
Hey Ariel,
I'm thinking about doing this setup with all perf. pipes cut out in the stock mufflers but I intend to cut out the secondary cats and put some Jones turbine resonators there. Are the Vibrants the best ones. I've heard some pretty nice sounding exhaust with the Jones' ones but they put them instead of the mufflers at the end of the exhaust, while I think to replace the secondary cats with them. P.S. Already have the VRSF catless downpipes. These cars are such pleasure to own. You always have what to do with it :D
Good job bro. I wish you were somewhere here in NC I'll bring you mine too
Where you at in NC? I’m in Elizabeth city, looking to move next year near Charlotte.
Aye bro if you don’t mide but what wheel specs you running front and back looks perfect fitment need some for my 335is
Would u plz tell me the wheels offset on your bmw 335i
is this not basically the same thing as a muffler delete?
Love your videos man!! Can you let me know if there is any drone from deleting the 2 perforated pipes at all? Also how do I get my bmw to have that alarm sound when I lock/unlock the car?
Cheers man
I did it like 3 months ago and there is a little drone but it’s not a lot and if you listen to music while you drive you don’t really hear it that much
Need the stance video for the 335i
Did you pull the rear quarter panels on your e92?
What song/beat is that while you cutting in the beginning?
Where you at? I got an exhaust in need of your welding skills.
were you able to weld the underside of the piping?
Mario Saldana I did this mod on my 335i and we weren’t able too. You’ll notice the leak at first but it’ll go away over time
what kind of welder did you use
Does he have anything else done? His turbo is spooling a lot
Can this be done on a 535i F10?
How much would they charge to do this in a auto shop
I presume if you did it to only the side with the valve the car would sound stock until the vavle opens then it sound similar to the car in the video?
Callum Farmer I’ve thought about that and I honestly think it would still be quiet even with the valve in place and the mod done on that one side. It’s louder with both sides done. I would do both sides and leave the valve working if you’re afraid of it being too loud.
Does the red 335i have downpipes ?
I deleted the mufflers and i have VRSF downpipes, i having much drone in the car, so if i did this step, could the drone be much quieter?
Anthony Achkouti yea this helps with drone. you’ll still have some drone but it isnt as bad as muffler delete
Where can i get the pipe from
Hey how does it sound from driver seat while driving? And with warm engine? I have my mufflers deleted but its a but too loud and drony..
RDreZi message me on instagram i have an in cabin video
When doing both pipes on each side like in this video is it more drony than the usual PE Mod? It does seem louder when revving but does it drone when cruising on the highway?
Unfortunately I can't tell you from experience but I'll take an educated guess here: It would be probably more drony than not cutting the inner resonator pipes and leaving them perforated. But if you leave those a lot of the engine's straight 6 sound gets quite muffled. It sounds better with all pipes done. The trick is to resonate that drone out somewhere so if you probably put an X pipe and some resonators in place of the secondary cats it will eliminate the drone a lot.
Hey bro, what rims do you have on your blue e92. They are exactly what I’m looking for!!
They look like Forgestar F14s
How’d they do the underside weld? That’s the only thing stopping me...
He can't weld the underside, he just left it instead. Still better than all the perforations.
Damn, that sounds good. Where in DE are you located and would you be able to do that to mine? I'm in Philly
im in new castle , message me on Ig: @arieloroz
Awesome vid ! Thanks
Cool. Would it be more quiet with only one perforated pipe replaced per side?
Tomi M. Yea it’ll be just a couple steps quieter but not by much. Doing both changes the tone more than anything.
Thanks will try that on mine! So one more question, does the flap for making the exhaust quieter remain after the mod? I guess yes and makes it possible to adjust the volume? I've done Golf Tee mod for now to make it louder but guess could revert it if it's too loud after replacing the pipes...
hey mate just curious. to take off the exhaust is it just bolts or are u cutting and re welding. if no welding is required what has to be done? my car is interstate at a shop so i cant muck around with mine to check
Steven Jacobs you have to cut it out and reweld
@@arieloroz5429 ahk. does that mean u gotta take the whole exhaust off and weld it or can u get away with welding it from under the car
Steven Jacobs you can get away with welding it back in while it’s still on the car
Whats your wheel set up and what did you do to get it to sit like that nicely
I want to know too. Pleaseeee!!!!
i also want to know
Yo bro you located in Delaware?
What size piping did you use for the perforated pipes?
Gregory C 2.5” stainless steel 304L
Ariel Oroz thank you!
I want to do this, but all the shops around me are so expensive. Last shop I visited quoted me $350 for only a muffler delete, I can only imagine what they'd want for this
Justin Vassallo where are you located ?
$350 for a MUFFLER delete is outrageous. jeezus
Where’s that stance video!?
So u don’t weld underneath?
Brenden Schaeffer only to weld it back on
I have Full Bolt On's my N54 with MHD Stage 2+. I'm considering this procedure instead of buying an aftermarket exhaust. I love the external sound but how is the sound and drone inside the car?
TheMortgageDoctor it’s not that bad honestly. i like how aggressive it sounds compared to other aftermarket exhaust
@@arieloroz5429 but is drone not present or it is still there? I wonder about doing it Mashimaro style where he is covering with the term tape 2/3 of the side resonators preferred pipes. link : www.google.com/url?sa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fmashimarho.com%2Fproducts%2Fbmw-performance-exhaust-modded&psig=AOvVaw3_W6UmqOdbfRe2idZ4nvQO&ust=1585149519725000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAIQjRxqFwoTCPDpqKK0s-gCFQAAAAAdAAAAABAD
Yo boy has Catless DPs?
Christopher Nelson he has catless dp and pe mod. He also has his secondary cats unlike me. I don’t have any.
@@arieloroz5429 that probably like the perfect setup secondary cat delete will probably be to loud.
Put up the video I wanna see your stance
I can allready tell the type of friend he is hearing him say my friends car is cool but not as cool as mine good ,his car is fast but mine is a bit faster ,his car is low but not as low as mine
Trihard cx I have a friend exactly like that
