jaclyn is the only person in the makeup section of youtube who proper explains what she’s using why she uses is and how she’s using it i wouldn’t be able to do makeup today if it wasn’t for her explaining every step
While she is one of the people who taught me how to do makeup, have you seen Marlena Stell from Makeup Geek?
I also recommend Robert Welsh. He’s amazing and explains EVERYTHING, from how to use products and tools correctly, to techniques to application. He doesn’t push any products, and it’s ALL makeup. None of the other stuff we don’t need.

Oh please. She is not. There are way more detailed technique tutorials by other CZcamsrs. Alex Anele, Brianna Fox, are just two off the top of my head who are way more detailed.
I think that Jaclyns approach to make up transcends cultural lines. She’s a lot of fun 🤩 However, there’s room for everyone. Thanks for mentioning the others who you feel are great makeup 💄 artists as well.

I don't understand when CZcamsrs say tutorials are a thing of the past. WHAT THE HELL? Tutorials and GRWM are my favorite videos and the only thing I watch. I miss your makeup videos. PLEASE MAKE LOTS OF TUTORIALS AND GRWM'S. LOVE YOU.
Hey everyone! I wrote out the steps for the eyes if anyone else wants to use them, feel free!
Figured I'd share since I wrote it out anyhow. It's not super in-depth but it helps so you don't have to watch and pause the video a 100 times when doing the look!
1. "Perfectionist" in the crease, more depth on the outer corner. Then use a fluffier brush to go over and blend edges.
2. "Comfort Zone" do the same as above blend onto lower lash line and connect to the crease.
3. "Thick Skin" tap on outer corner.
4. "Certified" use a dense synthetic flat brush and blend into the inner corner (1/4 portion) of the eye. Wide-eye effect.
5. "Central Park" (vol l) line eyelids. Apply mascara/lashes.
6. Apply black gel liner to upper waterline. Apply white kohl liner to lower waterline.

Hahaha I’m glad I’m not the only one. Half the time I end up looking like I’m going to a New Year’s Eve party or maybe a rave...I love color, intense shimmers, and glitter. Good thing I work overnights so my boss doesn’t think it’s too much 😂

Lots of folks are still out here doing tutorials on CZcams! That's how I've seen a lot of the smaller channels really start to see growth! I feel like for the larger channels it's more you've done so many videos that you think no one wants to see "that" anymore. But, honestly, we do (or at least I know I do). Judging by the ever-climbing numbers of some other CZcamsrs in the makeup space, it would be fair to assume that other people do too! Also, you know that over time the ways in which you do and apply things change over time. So, I say all of that to say: Never STOP doing Tutorials - EVER!!!!! I adore you Jaclyn!!!

Jac is one of the only 3 beauty content creators that I still watch. She's one of the only 2 that genuinely seem to want to help and teach people about the entire process of makeup and skincare. The rest seem to grab a brush and color and don't explain a darn thing! I'd love to see an updated video about face shapes, eye color, etc and how to bring out what we see as our best features. Content creators that create content we want to see is, sadly, disappearing from CZcams. Thank you for being a creator that actually crates!

lol I'm glad you brought it up... I LUV during a GRWM when they are halfway through their makeup, with baking all over their face with one eye done. And they pause their makeup to address the cam, pouring their heart out, being super vulnerable and honest about a particular topic and they just look cray cray... but I'm here for it

Can we get a video on how you prep your skin before makeup? Like you morning skin care and prep for makeup please! I’m having such a hard time with my makeup lasting :(
It COULD be skin care related, but also check that whichever primer you're using has the same base as your foundation (like both having water bases or both having oil bases), lightly dabbing a pressed translucent powder over the foundation (if cream/liquid) to set it will help keep it from budging and settling into fine lines, and a good setting spray like Urban Decay's or IT Cosmetic's lines at the very end will help hold it in place and keep you looking fresh all day.
