    I spend a lot of time watching Indigo Girls concert clips online, on CZcams. "The Making of One Lost Day" was a special treat for me. It gave me a behind a scenes look into a a world that I can never, ever see, involving people and messages that I greatly admire, aspire to and respect. I work as a private, professional nanny, and I believe that things that I heard on this video will help me be a better nanny, more open minded, more apt to turn to music during dull moments of the children's day, more ready to help the children incorporate music into their daily lives. For me, it was a huge emotional boost as well as a dream come true. How wonderful to see Amy Ray and Emily Saliers creating music off stage. What a fabulous opportunity for me. I thank you both from the bottom of my heart. This effort will not be lost. I will pay it forward in many different ways, beginning with the children I care for as a nanny. This 48 year old, long-time listener thanks you deeply. Sincerely, Nancy

    It's my dream to spend a few hours with these incredibly talented women. The amount of heart and passion that exudes from them is immeasurable.

    I’m a musician, not near the caliber of these amazing women, but my dream would be to just sit in a studio to watch them record. It would even be more of a dream to throw in a little harmony, but I know myself.....things of beauty, especially beautiful music with their harmonies, bring me to tears, so I would be the one in the corner crying like a baby!!! I would be like “hold on I gotta blow my nose again.” Your music speaks to me. So grateful you are still sharing and singing!!

    Emily said in the ending about you can always go to music. It's very true. I have had two health scares and both times I have immersed myself in Indigo Girls music and found my way to the other side. The last time I was just getting back to a normal head space after a cancer scare when they came to LA. I was able to see them perform at the Teragram Ballroom in June this year. It was as close to a spiritual experience as I have ever had. I am so glad they have given us so many years of music to love. I hope they continue for many years to come. I thank you Emily and Amy for all your songs.

    Such an entertaining documentary. It's fascinating to see Amy and Emily's creative process after enjoying their music for so many years. I'm now wrestling with my conscience over whether I should call in sick next week and go see them in concert in Los Angeles!

    I'm a pretty typical fan...lesbian, 50s, folky. I love 'girls with guitars.' I've seen IG in concert at least twenty times in California and Colorado, and met them at a CD release party in Denver. My adoration is unwavering! I have to admit though, I had a very hard time getting into this album. This video has helped change my perspective and has given me a new appreciation for the creative process. I know I'll listen to it with more insight to their vision. Love always... ALWAYS!!

    This is one of those albums that I've found has to grow on me. I listened all the way through when they first put it up, and I was like meh. There's not much here that really grabs me. But today I heard IG on the radio and thought, hey, maybe try listening to the new album again, and I found this, heard, "Come a Long Way," looked up the lyrics, and found tears streaming down my face. Music should make you feel something, and I don't know why those lyrics struck a chord in me, but they did. I should say, although the first few albums are more in your face, a lot of songs on Swamp Ophelia took a long time to grow on me as well.
    It struck me how much work they put into the album, especially the vocals, to be so meticulous in getting the pitches right, so that the emotion of the song comes through clearly. Also, there are wonderful moments of good humor that just happen spontaneously. The musicians and producers seem really relaxed with one another, like a bunch of good friends getting together in a room, some of them having worked with the Indigos for a long time or coming back after a time like Brady.

    I seen The Indigo Girls years ago at Riverfront Coliseum (site of The Who tragedy). They opened for REM. The whole concert was great. My brother who is no longer here took me to this concert. I have loved them since. I have seen them many more times. Met Amy in Cincinnati after a show at Bogarts. These girls have provided the soundtrack of my life!

    Funny, the music and the words blend into this thing that is neither music nor words, it turns into a feeling. Was the same at Center Stage before Nanci in the early 80’s. ❤

    Wow! I fell in total and Unconditional, Complete Love with the Indigo Girls music at the age of 12! They've literally been the soundtrack of my Life! I'm always in Awe how they can write something so very personal to their lives, but I feel as if they have downloaded my secret thoughts and put them to music. Tonight, I wanted to hear "Hey Jesus", then I stumbled across this! As I watched it, I was not only blown away but it made me so very Emotional. I cried like my spirit was singing! Beautiful, Amazing and so very Inspirational. Love times Infinity!!!

    I have been an IG's fan since the beginning and can't understand some of the bad reviews of this cd. One of the things I love most about the girls and their music is that they change a lot. Who wants each and every cd or song to be the same ? I seriously can't say that they have ever came out with a truly bad cd..some I have liked more then others but I truly love everything they have done. My dream is to meet them someday, I have probably seen them in concert at least 30 or 40 times. I live in Connecticut so anytime they are anywhere on the East coast, I try to go see them. Some of my favorite shows were at the Town Hall in NYC, Central Park with Joan Baez, Danbury Connecticut and Providence Rhode Island. The girls and their music have truly changed my life...the words and the music have inspired me to become who I am...have helped me accept my homosexuality and made me not care what people think about me. Prevented suicide attempts etc. the girls are truly the most gifted singers and song writers I have ever heard and in my opinion are still the most underrated artists out there. I love you girls and pray I can meet you someday, it would truly be a life changing experience for me and would complete my life. ❤❤

I love Amy's manner, it's just so real, and it made me fall in love with her even more, if that was possible!!! Thank you so much for being icons of what we fight for, what we live for, what we all try to say in too many words...... What you guys have perfected in just the perfect amount of poetry.. So, thank you....... for being who you are.

    I'm a huge IG fan and this is a beautifully written album but it is massacred by terrible mastering. The amount of Dynamic Range Compression (DRC) on the CD and Digital downloads makes it sound wimpy, gutless, and flat. Please IG talk to BOB LUDWIG at Gateway to reclaim this album!!!! Google "DR Loudness Database" to see the terrible ratings on the recent IG albums.

    • @IndigoJo
      @IndigoJo Před 3 lety

      It seems this is a trend -- the ratings have been getting lower ever since the mid-90s when a lot of records were still being released as vinyl but mostly as CDs. I looked at Richard Thompson's ratings and the last album with a 'green' rating was Mirror Blue back in 1994. His latest full album (13 Rivers) has an average rating of 6, which is disappointing as I thought it was his best set of songs for years. I think it's to do with albums being targeted at the download market rather than at CD.
