Indigo Girls have been a tremendous part of my life since I walked into a bar (I do not remember the name) in Little Five Points, Atlanta GA "looking for solace in a bottle or possibly a friend"(s). I met them there and I was sold! I have followed them ever since. Rarely does a day go by that I do not sing or think about the lyrics to their one of their passionate ballads. They will always be 1st on my playlist. Their music can ignite my adrenaline or take me to a safe place where I can be me. Their talent knows no limits, I am always amazed at their ability to play numerous instruments, switch from a Native American theme (Bury my heart at Wounded Knee), a tribute to Virginia Wolf and Galileo, a heart wrenching cry to Jesus, a blast from the past (Tangled up in blue and Get Together). I can go on and on. Most recent, a folk band playing with a symphony orchestra! Who would have thunk? They have remained together as well as pursued solo careers. Their passion for activism has changed lives and inspired others. They are true humanitarians. I saw them at Chastain Park (Atlanta., GA) on Earth Day many moons ago. I even saw them on David Letterman! Can you tell I am a fan? I am trying to get a group together to see them in Athens or Greenville, SC. I cannot wait to see what's next!!!! Thank you Amy and Emily for being a part of my life. ☮️❤️🙂

I had the pleasure of seeing them at Starlight outdoor ampitheatre in Kansas City, Missouri about 30 years ago. Wow, it doesn't seem like that long ago, but it was 1990, I think. It was a magical starry night. They sounded perfect, every note was spot on. I have been to hundreds of concerts, and theirs has always remained in my top three favorites. Their music is so pure, the acoustics are perfect and their harmonies blend so well together. Other bands can't do that with 10 people, and tons of other electronic crap on the stage with them. Hope they continue to forever bless us with their music.

Wow. Oh my Lord. Indigo Girls! Thank you 🙏 Lord for these ladies. I am new to their act and what it is they do. They bring me to tears 😭. I feel “closer to fine”, yeah, learning and listening to their archival songs. In fact, after hearing their live double album from 1995 or 1996, this past week in June of 2020, I am on my way to Streetlight Records here in Nor. California to purchase each and every album that I can get my hands on and if it were not for this Covid 19 debacle I would have seen them live for the first time at “The Mt. Winery” in Saratoga, CA this past May for the first time, except the concert was delayed or put off due to Covid issues😷.
This 1994 Bridge School Festival footage of these two ladies. Clearly Neil Young knows some real talent when he see’s it. Wow! Was that really just two musicians on stage? No bass player or drummer? Damn. That is some impressive talent on display. Those harmonies are sublime and even surreal.
Ladies, aka Indigo Girls- thank you for all you have done and for staying with it for this long despite your differences, as we all have. Can’t wait to see you live post Covid “cookoo-ness”. All the best. Keep on being true to your highest selves and one day, perhaps, one of us will attain that level of “highest human state” aka divinity. 🌹🌈💫

I'm admittedly a male chauvinist pig. Especially when it comes to music. But when someone's good they're good regardless of gender, race or politics. And these girls are good. A strange cross between B. Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel. I followed them through their albums Indigo Girls and Nomads And Saints. After that I lost track of them and hadn't listened or followed them since. But those two albums were enough for me to give it up to them. Their writing, harmonies and musicianship through out those two albums were enlightening, inspiring, and entertaining.
If they had written and performed nothing in their career other than Southland In The Springtime they would always have a place in my heart. That song means every thing to me and always brings tears to my eyes.

Just took an interest in the Indigo Grls because they were rumoured to sing in harmony which is totally outlawed in modern music. I spent years listening to Southern Gospel with some very questionable lyrics for the sake of hearng some extremely good 4 part harmony. Indigo girls however seem to shun backup musicians. The concert sported a drum set and a piano that were never used. I miss the days when groups sang harmony and had a band that could provide a rich background.
