- Back in November 2015 James Bay and Talenthouse ran a film competition to make a short film inspired by one of his songs.
My film tells the story of an easily led young guy who quickly falls in love with a dangerous girl. Their relationship quickly spirals down a dark path and he is forced to make a difficult choice.
I created the short based on 'Let it Go' and in particular the line ''When we're becoming something else, I think it's time to walk away''. The original edit was much shorter but I always wanted to to a longer cut set to the song.

Love the song and video. Beautifully done. It's funny how quickly someone can drag you down into the darkness.
This was really good! Very intense. My stomach is strangely in knots...
Never heard of this artist or song before, but Thank You for its introduction to my life!
This makes me think of the times in my early, youngest stages of naive adulthood when I thought I knew what love was... after thinking the moment I was blessed with a beautiful thing from someone that was given to me, then later in life, getting that call they’re divorcing and I was wanted there instead. After having sent some of my things in the mail to be there when I got there, setting up my house to be sold, transferring with my job/employer, and diving off into an unknown land (state) that I thought I’d have someone to help me, guide me, teach me, and protect me, that wound up....spiking a soda after my plane landed that same day, spiked it with a drug, I blacked out, fell, busted back of my head open, went into a grand mal seizure, waking up 2 days later in the hospital.
Thinking it would all be ok and taking some twists and turns, making wrong choices for believing if I did, I would be loved and protected and sheltered that much more, all the while, QUICKLY and in one swipe of a split second, one moment just yanks everything out of you, jerking that rug from under your feet and them only worrying about themselves, out of greed.
To find you’re truly alone, out there in the world, even if you subject yourself to giving “love” all you have, just to find, it has let you down, yet again, and not knowing this wouldn’t be the last time.
Some things have been buried for so long and you have this impeccable way of reaching into other’s souls to help us all realize we are all in the same boat, subjecting ourselves to the “love” we think we know, until one day, it finds us, that pure, innocent, easy, not having to work at it at all, connection with another that stems psychologically, emotionally, physically, and spiritually....joins two people, both having been hurt beyond repair sometimes, only to land and find, there IS truly a thing as soulmates, one knowing the one at a split second’s moment, and never being able to say goodbye to one another, while never wanting to.
Thank you, yet, again Matt!

Thanks man! Much appreciated. :)
That was such a good video!! I loved the progression of the story; it felt like a very natural story.
That girl was a terrible influence!!!
JK, I took away much more than that from the video, lol. As always, it was put together beautifully. I felt a whole range of emotions and was completely absorbed in the story. 5 stars!
Thank you, and thanks for continuing to follow my work, it means a lot.
I SWEAR I AM NOT LIKE THIS IN REAL LIFE :D
It's true. She likes Heroin, not Cocaine.
Charlotte Christof Matt Sears
Hahaha.
Al it’s not a movie. The person who owns this channel - Matt Sears - is a filmmaker and made this video to go with the song.
Hey, liked your Let It Go James Bay video.
Great cinematography, camera moves, steady-cam, lighting, locations, costumes/makeup, production design, interpretation of lyrics, acting, interpretation of music , creative editing, cutting to beat, creativity, and cutting on motion.
