What slow mo, for first Pen Italian player enters the box before the Pen was kicked. It should be a Rekick but the ref does not have the gut to call it

I came here because another video was saying how dreadful this game was. "Bloodbath! Violent! Unfair! Terrible refereeing!" I feel I've been duped. OK these are only highlights but they're fairly extensive. There was strong physicality on both sides. The referee seemed reasonably good. If Italy were that good they should've done better.
You can't be serious. At least three red cards should have been given to South Korea. Two penalties to Italy and a goal that was not given because of offside.
One of the greatest performances for south korea ever. (And against Spain as well). Referee was intense that day... Almost like a twelfth player, the way they were able to handle first the Italian team here and then the Spanish team.

I missed this game because I was at school. I was so shocked and upset when I heard the result 😅. The Totti red card was a travesty. OK it might not have been a penalty, but look how far away the ref was. No way he can see clearly enough to claim it's a dive and send him off. He wanted to send Totti off for some reason. Saying that Italy only had themselves to blame. Trappatoni nearly wasted a golden generation with his awful cautious tactics. Luckily Lippi made the most of it in 2006.

The referee literally single-handedly won the game for Korea lmaooo. You can't win if the refs give out arbitrary red cards and disallow legitimate goals.

Now whether there was something bigger in it, guess we won't ever know. But all the people here watching this and saying the refereeing WASN'T stupendously one-sided, guys you seriously need to have your eyes tested.
Idk, the german broadcast angles in this video clear a lot of the supposedly "biased" plays were not biased at all. Tensions were high at the time, europeans just thought asians were inferior and their only possible explanation is that the ref was bought, despite Italy also playing super dirty this game.
Fulltime= Totti gets fouled inside of the box but no penalty is given Extra= Totti again gets fouled inside of the box but there is still no penalty and Totti was given a red card Tomassi is is called offside even though he was clearly onside.
Heard a lot of things about this match, the ref, the violence, But from what it is shown here, it looks quite normal to me, most ref whistles are good(except for totti one, i'd say it is too harsh, but i think still a arguably reasonable blow). Guess we should always see for ourselves before judging.
I am really stunned, all my life I believed that this game had been one of the biggest scams in football history but I was wrong, Korea won the game well and the referee did not favor Korea in any play. - The first yellow card that Toti receives is completely correct (it could even have been red) - Perhaps Totti's expulsion was exaggerated by simulating a penalty (which it was not in any way) - In the play that Del Piero struggles against the Korean defender and receives a elbow strike both should have received a yellow card, Del Piero pulls the Korean player's shirt roughly, he gets angry and nudges him, - The offsides were all correct, Tommasi's last offside was quite fine but at that time it could be easily taken. - In conclusion, Italy had many legitimate plays that they wasted and Korea knew how to take advantage. - I withdraw my ideas about ref Moreno, he was correct in this match.

The good quality of the video shows that South Korea played really well, Italy was just a refereeing foul, and South Korea has beaten many strong teams at the World Cup, and this is one of them.

The ref, Byron Moreno, was a convicted drug trafficker and match fixer. During the 2002 FIFA World Cup, Moreno refereed the round of 16 match between tournament favourites Italy and co-hosts South Korea on June 18. Following Italy's elimination from the tournament after a 2-1 extra time loss, Moreno's performance was criticised for several decisions: he awarded South Korea a controversial penalty in the first half (which eventually failed to capitalise) and later disallowed a possible golden goal by Damiano Tommasi for a non existent offside, as well as showing a second yellow card to Francesco Totti for an arguable dive in South Korea's penalty area in the first half extra time while he was 37 meters away from play.
The Italian players, who came to the host country and fractured the host country by elbowing him in the face, did something rude and stupid first. one's own gain.

Buen resumen.
You are as corrupt as it is the criminal drugged smaggler referee of this game . I imagine how much the azzurri achievement bothers your little Latino mind ...but this team would have won that world cup 2002 cause were truly one of the best squads ever in history . This game should have end 4_1 for azzurri . Corrupted FIFA and you shall be ashamed for not seeing what happened . Same happen to Spain vs this ugly little dick of Asians . They not ones .

I'm still surprised that Kim tae young's elbow strike on Del piero and Lee's headkick on Maldini. Two clear red card
Italy had to blame themselves not the referee. They could finish the game inside 90 minutes.
at 12:34 was open enough to score instead he bumped into the player to win a free kick which he didn't get. trapattoni probably wished he used baggio instead of totti
I wouldn’t be happy if Italy win , or proud of myself , Italy. Dirty play
I came here because another video was saying how dreadful this game was.
"Bloodbath! Violent! Unfair! Terrible refereeing!"
I feel I've been duped.

Italy deserved the loss because they missed a lot of easy chances and they didn't take the Koreans seriously so they should blame themselves not the ref
bashark. Exactly.
The referee literally single-handedly won the game for Korea lmaooo. You can't win if the refs give out arbitrary red cards and disallow legitimate goals.
Missed chances or not its proven at this point the Koreans bought this referee and some other games as well.

Idk, the german broadcast angles in this video clear a lot of the supposedly "biased" plays were not biased at all.
Tensions were high at the time, europeans just thought asians were inferior and their only possible explanation is that the ref was bought, despite Italy also playing super dirty this game.

Heard a lot of things about this match, the ref, the violence, But from what it is shown here, it looks quite normal to me, most ref whistles are good(except for totti one, i'd say it is too harsh, but i think still a arguably reasonable blow). Guess we should always see for ourselves before judging.
Ahn jung hwan was fired from Perugia after this legendary goal
Sounds good
Not only that, but Ahn was forced to pay Perugia $3.5 million as well
That didn't happen. He was on loan and they even offered to extend after this but he rejected
I am really stunned, all my life I believed that this game had been one of the biggest scams in football history but I was wrong, Korea won the game well and the referee did not favor Korea in any play.
- The first yellow card that Toti receives is completely correct (it could even have been red)
- Perhaps Totti's expulsion was exaggerated by simulating a penalty (which it was not in any way)
- In the play that Del Piero struggles against the Korean defender and receives a elbow strike both should have received a yellow card, Del Piero pulls the Korean player's shirt roughly, he gets angry and nudges him,
- The offsides were all correct, Tommasi's last offside was quite fine but at that time it could be easily taken.
- In conclusion, Italy had many legitimate plays that they wasted and Korea knew how to take advantage.
- I withdraw my ideas about ref Moreno, he was correct in this match.

wait.... what about the head-kick the koreans gave to either del piero or maldini......
for totti's second yellow for diving, check the timemark 18:14 when the korean's right foot clearly tripped over totti's left foot
the both elbow strike we can see that del piero was not using much power while the korean elbow should get a red card, prehaps del piero should get a yellow card for that but what the korean did was far worse than what del piero did

The referee, Byron Moreno, has a history of questionable calls which led to multiple suspensions and his retirement for low marks. Years later, he would be arrested at the JFK-New York airport for smuggling heroin in his underwear and serve a 2.5 year prison sentence.
Asia's humiliation :(
Maybe its a conspiracy...maybe referee is not fair...but what made italian lost is how they wasted a lot of chances to scored

goranmit. Hai scritto bene.
Came here to say this. I don’t see anything wrong. Just that they lost to what they seem an inferior team. Fucking learn a lesson
