How does the slip ring fault?...It looks like a solid metal ring with the contact tab attached?....Also,i have a vx commodore ,and the ring is in 2 pieces....one half works the other doesnt.....any ides ?....thnks for a good vid.
Hi mate, I didn't really have any apart from every now and then I turned the key and it didn't fire then on the next turn it started. The main reason for the change was I spotted it while doing a scan.
@@mwoods2062 I just put the new slip ring in and it’s doing the same thing it did with the old one, it wants to start but it won’t do you think it’s my key then?

Hi the fault is a code I picked up when I did a scan. I don't know much about vx slip rings but if only half works I think it will need changing.

I just got a new slip ring from napa auto parts will it work with my original key? My car doesn’t fire because of the slip ring
Yes the new slip ring is only the contact between the key and the reader.
Do you have to sync the key to the slip ring?
No it's only a contact between the key and the reader

When you turn the ignition on does the little red lock symbol go off
@@mwoods2062 no the lock symbol stays on do you think it’s my key?. My key doesn’t lock or unlock the car when I press the buttons.
