    Great video. You left out one super important thing: With the Goggles Integra, you don't need to tether your phone to the Goggles for the US-required remote ID system to work, because Integra has its own GPS. I think that's a huge benefit of Integra in the US market. Also, with the older Goggles, I bought on Amazon a cheap 3D printed part to mount the battery on the back and I think everyone should do that. It's a design flaw to have that battery cable coming out of your head.

      You’re absolutely right. In hindsight it’s probably mainly because I’m based in Europe where we aren’t affected by the need to tether but integrated GPS is certainly a huge benefit if you’re flying under FAA regulations. Regarding the power lead I think this was just sheer laziness from DJI- it should have been integrated in some way from the start.

    You forgot a very important point. It was bad enough having to connect a dangling battery with a cable, but now with the introduction of Remote ID (enforced in the latest firmware upgrade) you MUST have a phone attached in order ot take off - so there is now a second cable with a dangly thing in your pocket (same pocket as your battery so the phone screen gets scratched?) AND your phone must be on, with DJI app running in foreground for GPS to work. So now your phone battery is depleted in quick time too! Yes, you CAN disconnect your phone once you have taken off and, although you will get the annoying "No Remote ID" error, it will not bring your drone crashing from the sky. Nonetheless, to take off, you have to have your phone connected running the DJI app in the foreground. No thanks! Biggest omission in this review: The Integra goggles also include a GPS, so phone is no longer required. For those of you without an oppressive authority (FCC) insiting on Remote ID to fly a drone, this will not be important, but for some of us it is key. I would much rather give up the diopter adjustment, speaker, and audio output (and wireless streaming, which you forgot or ignored) to have a "cable-with-two-dangly-dongles-free" flying experience. IMHO this is a no brainer, especially since it is $150 cheaper. For those of you who just bought the Avata and are feeling short-changed, do what I did - take advantage of the 14-day return period and buy the combo package with the Integra goggles.

      Bob, you don't need the phone with the Integra because it has its own GPS.

    Hi, sorry last question, do you have to have your phone connected with a cable all the time you are flying for GPS?
    Is that right? The new integra goggles have built in GPS so other than the battery input from the headstrap?
    So for all the questions just wanted to make sure I know my facts before purchasing

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Před rokem +1

      With the goggles 2 I had to connect the phone just once to tell it I’m not in an FCC region and it then no longer required a phone connected thereafter. I had my most recent flight a couple of days ago and no mobile phone connection was necessary. Not sure if this changes with the latest firmware released earlier this week though - I’ll update and check this along with the question of whether the HAM Hack still works after update.
      Regarding the integrated GPS, I can’t see any mention of it in the Dji specs

    Hi,have been trying to decide between this version and the previous 2 version ?
    I noticed you didn't mention that the new goggles have a smaller field of view 44 instead of 51
    Do you think this would be very detrimental to the viewing experience? It seems that they have dunaway with the internal light sensor inside the goggles? PS best review I've seen so far on the new version!
    Good work 👍🙂

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Před rokem +2

      Thanks - and really glad you pointed that out as I didn’t notice this on the specs - so the FOV merely determines how big the image looks through the goggles (it’s probably more down to the different optics used since the Integra doesn’t have a variable diopter adjustment). In terms of what difference it makes, possibly a little bit less immersive as a down side but on the plus side you might find it easier to see the edges of the screen without blur when using the integra goggles. On larger FOV I find this a slight nuisance when trying to read the OSD. This also depends on how the goggles sit on your face so not everyone will find this an issue.

      Hi,I'm swaying towards the previous version as I wear glasses I'm near sighted and if I want to let someone else try it I think it might be a pain is there any other difference you can think of?

    • @dronewilder5234
      @dronewilder5234  Před rokem +2

      @@darrenowens1543 the goggles 2 are definitely the better option as the integra ones are also missing 3.5mm audio out, internal speaker, wireless streaming, the touch pad and led matrix displays. None of these are essential features but sometimes it’s nice to have certain technology just in case. So unless saving £150 is essential (I mean it’s still a significant saving), then the goggles 2 are the better choice.
