Titus is a natural! As I said, I think he could be a winner if he decides to pursue whitewater paddling. Awesome job and what a fun time!
Yeah he will be a ripper!
Drowns shoots at the end…. Awesome
Thanks Troy!
Watch out Pete, you may be usurped as The River King. Let's go Titus!!! Looks like it was a blast out there. Great vid as always!
Right on K! That is always the goal! Also, I never intended to be called a king. LOL. We came up with that name for our little group (no intention of starting a CZcams channel) because we felt like kings while out on the river together...there is a cool story behind it. The name stuck and it has taken a life of its own. I hardly deserve the moniker "king"...but I sure do feel like one out there with my friends!!
Just a preparation comment/suggestion for surf kayaking. Waves vary, sometimes remarkably, in size in strength as the 'sets' come in. Unexpectedly you can turn back seaward after a good ride, and see a towering wave about to come down on you akin to a giant flyswatter about to pancake you. Depending on the particular underwater topography, where you are from the center of the break, etc. you might find it necessary to hastily exert some big time maneuvering effort to prepare for "impact", even to the point of temporarily abandoning your yak to avoid a severe smackdown. Watch some of the surfer vids and you can see for yourself what I'm talking about. I'm speaking about big water here, (I'm from the West Coast) though similar concerns can temporarily arise elsewhere. In any event, everyone SHOULD be making sure they're in appropriate shape, which especially (besides arms/back etc. ) means "CORE" fitness. RK, you might take a moment to discuss proper development of core fitness with a medical expert and get some video advice up for your viewers. I don't recall seeing anyone else doing it, and the info being relevant to pretty much all "yack'ers" from flat lake tourers to whitewater river 'bronc busters' on up to budding 'surf jockeys' would (imho) benefit the entirety of your viewers.
In any event, looks like you and your buddies had a helluva good time, and in the end, that's what it's all about.:)
Thanks Seer!
I took my longer kayak and. Bellyak into the Gulf. The whole week was great
right on Jam!
Awesome and that looks fun video.
Thanks L4TA!
Yup.
This was such a great video to watch. And now I'm on VRBO looking for places. LOL
Right on punkrockkayaker!
The kid was amazing, well done! Great video guys :)
Thanks bashy!
You should get a dedicated sea kayak designed for surfing like Current Designs Karla, or P&H Aires ... faster, longer rides
I have done that before...most of my friends are into whitewater instead of the playful sea kayaks, thus, we just plop and bob in our little spud boats...but alas, you are correct! I need to do that again! Thanks jm!
Good times
Thanks Troy!
That looks like sooo much fun! around this part of the world the closest I would get to these waves is probably lake superior!
I hear they get some big waves too!
Would love to see the River King and P5 try out a surfboard or SUP surfing at the beach
I used to do a bit of surfing. Not great at it, but it sure is fun!
Hey everyone!!
Hey PFA!
Looking forward to trying this myself! Out of curiosity, WHy choose the rockstar over other boats in this context?
right on! I like the rockstar for the looseness on the wave...it is just so fun.
How much did it cost to rent the place? 👀 it's beautiful!
too much! but it was nice!
I was wondering if it’s easier or harder to roll in salt water…or the same?
about the same. The stern stalls and enders are harder as the boats are more buoyant.
