When I was in beauty school in 1980-81, our textbook described the types of haircuts and hairstyles to do depending on the shape of the face. The book didn't tell you HOW you are to determine the face shape, however. How interesting I am watching this now!! And it suddenly brought back the memories of beauty school textbooks! LOL! Love your videos, just like everyone else. So informative. Just found you two months ago and got my hair cut again last week, so hopefully, I can use some of your techniques for my hair. Its still too new for it to do anything with it yet, BUT, I noticed yesterday, after letting it air dry, my hair FINALLY looked good, so, my hair is on its way to getting used to the cut!! YAY!! Going to start trying the techniques on my hair now. AND OMG!!!!!! ALWAYS thought I had an oval face shape. My Mom always said I got my oval-ish, oblong-ish face from my Dad. So, I did the measurements twice to make sure. At first, my face didn't go with ANY of the face shapes and I was a little confused as to why my measurements didn't go with any face shape, and then I scrolled down. I have NOW found out I have a DIAMOND shaped face!! Never would have guessed that in a MILLION, TRILLION years!! Wow!! How interesting.

Dominique, I recently subscribed to your channel and am going back through some of your videos. I took my face measurements and am stunned at what I learned!! Because my forehead is very long, I had always thought I had an oval or triangular face, but when I pulled my hair back and took measurements, I learned that my face is actually square, and my facial length is the same as my cheek and jawline measurements! What a revelation! Looking at pictures of women with square faces, they are the same women that I think are most beautiful, Sharon Stone and Diane Sawyer among them. Now I know why I think they are so pretty! You have completely changed the way I look at my face, much for the better. Thank you!!

Dominique there is a Revlon Hair Dryer Styler that is really good, it smooths hair and gives a lot of volume BC it is an oval shape brush. It is faster and it really leaves hair dry and either very smooth straight, or with volume and curl ends depending on how you pull your hair while you dry. Thanks for this video your hair looks great as usual 😍

Oh, I also found out I'm a triangle. I always thought I was the inverted triangle/heart-shaped face. Too funny.

Haha! So have I but I have to as my hair is super thin. Even though I have a wee bit of curl, I can't dry my hair like Dominique does. And I DO blowdry my bangs forward (and with a LOT of product in my hair!!). Yes, they start out big and bent in, but within a couple of minutes, they're more normal looking! But that's they way I have to do it in order to get the volume I so desperately need.

Hi people with their hair falling out. My hair was falling out. Everytime I washed it it would come out in handfuls when I brushed it or dried it, I mean it was everywhere, I was shedding like a dog. I started using Viviscal.
My hair stopped falling out and it's actually growing back. I have small hairs you can feel coming out all over my head, it's wonderful. I got this product at Evine Shopping Channel. The tablets you take 2 a day and use the shampoo and conditioner all the time. The shampoo and conditioner is $19 plus tax and the tablets every 3 months total after shipping tax well, it doesn't have shipping with this product. The total is $108. I know that sounds expensive but it is really worth it. I am on a fixed income on disability and I make the changes in my monthly bills to be able to get this product. It started working really fast. So I hope you'll find this helpful and happy growing back hair days.

Ha! Well, I always thought I had an oval or oblong shaped face, but according to that blog post and my measurements, I most definitely have a diamond shaped face! Which now makes a lot of sense. My beautiful long hair would always seem to make my face look too oblong and pointy, but since I've added bangs (hence, covering that sharp upper diamond area) it has really evened my face out!

Dominique, the last time I went to the salon, I made sure to show my stylist a couple of your hair tutorials lol! I said she has wavy/curly hair and I want this cut! For the most part I was happy when I left, BTW No! I am not a stalker LOL! However you have helped my hair problems tremendously! I don't know why stylist can't seem to do a good job with curly hair.

You are so adorable. I’m lousy with a blow dryer and a round brush. I’m going to look up my face shape. My best to you! ❤️

Carmela, I've never been able to master that either. I'm much better with a blow dryer with a round brush attachment. ❤️

I love this video. Will definitely go to the website you spoke about and see what face shape I have. At 67 I always thought I had a round face but now you got me thinking perhaps I am wrong. So thank you so much for the face shape website and the styling of your beautiful hair. You are so gorgeous. Blessings

Hi Dominique! I started watching your videos for ideas to style my mom's hair, as she has a similar cut to yours! Of course, i've fallen in love with your videos and watch them religiously for myself now lol! I love putting your videos on while I get ready!

You have the most beautiful hair, and you’re so good at styling it! I’ve always been told I’m a “rectangle”, so I’m anxious to find out if my face shape is truly just that! Thanks Dominique!

Love! Just one thing. The instructions are to measure across the flat surface of the mirror as you stand in front of it to get the face measurements. So you are measuring flat in 1 dimension not 3 dimensional.

I've always been adventurous with hairstyles - NEVER hair color....lol. I have straight hair in a bob style, blunt cut and letting it grow. I'll be trying the products I saw on your other video to volumize at the roots and blow it out so it's not so flat, and avoid using the flat iron which I use daily.

Hi Dominique, I just ran across your CZcams channel tonight for the very first time. I am addicted! You are so beautiful, smart, sincere and I appreciate all of your helpful tips. I loved hearing that a couple of your favorite products were from Rodin and Fields. I am an RF consultant and while I have a little knowledge about skin care , my hair is another story. Can’t wait to wash and blowout my hair tomorrow morning and hit the stores for products on my way home from work. Thank you so much, I look forward to seeing many more videos 💛

The face shape link is super helpful! Thank you so much for the tips and for being so willing to share. I'd be stuck in the Land of Frump if it weren't for you!!
