Last day in Jordan - Jerash, Ajloun Castle and Amman # vlog 6 Jordan

We began our last day of the “Jordanian adventure” in Jerash, located approximately 50 km from the capital Amman. Of interest on this road that finally “leads” to Syria is the greenery present in this part of the country and that is in contrast to the desert areas that we encountered in our previous days in Jordan.
Jerash (Gerasa in Greek) is a city in the northern part of Jordan and the place where the second “archaeological treasure” of Jordan is located after the Nabatean city of Petra. Jerash is considered one of the largest and best-preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside of Italy.
Sometimes Jerash is referred to as the “Pompeii of the Middle East”, due to its size and level of preservation.
Next on our list, because it was nearby, was Ajloun Castle. Built between 1184-1185 by the Muslims at an altitude of approximately 1000 meters the castle offers a panoramic view of the northwestern part of Jordan and the Land of Galilee. On clear days you can see the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley.
Back in Amman we ate at the famous Hashem restaurant, the place where you will enjoy the best falafel in Jordan. It is said that every diplomat, member of the Royal Family or celebrity who visited Amman has tried the food from this restaurant. There is no menu at the Hashem restaurant but here you will have the opportunity to try falafel, hummus, fuul, mutabel, fatteh or the famous Jordanian tea.
As dessert we had the pleasure to try kunafa (or knafeh) prepared by the Habibah “confectionery” in Amman. This is the best cake in Jordan according to millions of tourists who have tried it.
We ended our evening strolling through the streets of Amman and of course we did not miss also the famous Rainbow Street.
