I have one question, I'm on study permit but I'm working around 30hrs on vendor's check which I get cashed from money mart without sin number or bank account. They asked for my ID at the time of first payment. Will this affect my work permit in any way?

If the employer did not ask for your SIN number and just gave you check, then should not be an issue.
Just confirm with employer if the amount on cheque is pre tax or is the tax paid already?
I am planning to arrive on 17 December so for initial day I have seen one jacket (Dekathlon ) (-10 ) is this ok for initial 10-15 days ? I will use thermals and sweatshirt with it .
