    Just to clarify the math... At 1:43 in the video when he starts talking about the math, he said "for every 3 yards of downhill, it's gonna add 1 yard to the clubs carry distance" he should have said "for every 3 FEET of downhill, it's gonna add 1 yard to the clubs carry distance." (he does say it correctly at 10:45 in the video). 3 feet is almost the same as 1 yard. So 3 feet (or about 1 yard) of elevation change, gives you 1 yard of distance change. He uses the words "3 feet of elevation" and "1 yard of carry" because the game gives elevation in feet and distance in yards. He could've just said "1 yard of elevation change, gives 1 yard of distance change" but he is trying to help people understand something that a LOT of people have trouble with... math. Awesome videos, dude! Loaded with info! Thanks! Also, I realize I'm a year late on this comment but I just got the game and have just found this guys CZcams channel.

    Can you do a tutorial on 3-click putting? I just recently increased my swing difficulty to master, and now whenever I barely miss the hole, my golf ball creeps up to the hole and then rolls 20 feet and I end up 3 putting (if I'm lucky). This happens regardless of what color the grid lines are, or how fast the lines appear to be moving.

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před rokem +1

      Thank you Marcus! So in the difficulty options turn aim marker on. Now if you are are pro am or lower, pro vision will be turned on for elevation which means the game already accounts for it in the carry distance and it will not show you the elevation.

    Went back in time viewing your club wind adjustments tutorial. Instead of counting flicks how about converting flicks into specific grid placement?
    Off the top of my head 15 flicks = 1/2grid left/right of the flag. Progressively larger flicks = 1 grid and so on. I assigned % to grid placements: Zero 0% at the flag, 50% 1/2 grid, 100% full grid away from flag.

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před rokem

      This is precisely what I did in my wind video for PGA 2K23 (maybe you were referring to my pga 2k21 one), the wind data in the PGA 2K23 was explained as aiming using grid lines rather than flicks. In pga 2k21, I used flicks and yeah they were more inconsistent.

    Are you sure about your elevation rules? I play a lot of real golf and I was under the impression it is 1 yard elevation adds or subtract 1 yard to club distance (or hole distance however you want to view it). The shortcut rule for amateurs is that for every 15 yards of elevation you go up or down a 1 club. This is because if your clubs fit properly and you swing at around 100mph or faster with a driver the distance between clubs is 12-15 yards. So if the hole is 15 yards below you, then you would subtract 15 yards which is the same for most scratch golfers as going down a club. I have been using this rule in the video game and it seems to work pretty well.
    With that said your video did seem to support what you said. Just seems odd that the game would be that different than the real world. A 3:1 rule would be more what you would see for an amateur who only swings their driver around

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před rokem

      Yeah it is not the same as real life in terms of elevation. It plays 3:1 in the game.

    • @yeti8516
      @yeti8516 Před 6 měsíci

      Actually, I think at 1:43 in the video when he starts talking about the math, he said "for every 3 yards of downhill, it's gonna add 1 yard to the clubs carry distance" he meant to say "for every 3 FEET of downhill, it's gonna add 1 yard to the clubs carry distance" so, since 3 feet is almost the same as 1 yard, the math is the same for real golf. 3 feet (or about 1 yard) of elevation change, gives you 1 yard of distance change. He uses the words 3 feet of elevation and 1 yard of carry because the game gives elevation in feet and distance in yards. I hope this helps but I also realize I'm about 1 year late. lol

    i dont see elevation at the marker, how!!??

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před rokem

      So if you are playing on anything less than the Pro difficulty level the game automatically calculates the elevation affect for you so it does not show. It is the pro vision elevation setting that turns that on and off.

    Does anyone happen to know if there is an online mode that lets you turn off the darn distance meters? I can't stand the meters and blue trajectory line. Beyond annoying and kills the immersion. Online doesn't seem to let me turn these off?? I sure hope maybe I''m just doing something wrong...

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před rokem

      So unfortunately in online matchmaking this year you cannot turn anything off or change anything from the default pro. Now in private matches you can use whatever settings you want when playing with friends. I am not sure why they removed that ability in online matchmaking this year. Last year you could even turn off green grids if you wanted to in matchmaking.

    How do you get those numbers on the screen? Those numbers are not on my game when I play? Is there something in the settings to show the elevation numbers?

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před 7 měsíci +1

      So on some difficulty levels the numbers do now show up because the game already add the affect to the distance shown on screen due to the different pro visions being turned on. So if you are playing on pro level or harder, the numbers should show up. If you turn off pro vision for elevation, they should show up as well. Hope this helps!

    • @GamerAbility

      So if you have pro vision elevation turned on in the difficulty settings, it will not show the value. You have to have the provisions off for this to show up.

    I have turned my elevation meter on several times, but it does not show on screen? any help, please?

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před rokem +1

      Check and see if pro vision: elevation is turned on in the difficulty settings. If you play on anything less than the pro difficulty, pro vision elevation will be on and the game already takes into account elevation changes for you in the aim marker distance and thus it will not show up anywhere on the screen because the game does the math for you.

    What about if the grid below your feet is yellow orange or red?

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před rokem +1

      So a sidehill lie will pull or push the ball depending on your feet position relative to the ball. If ball is below your feet the ball will push away from the golfer and you need to aim in the opposite direction to compensate. And it is the opposite if ball is above your feet. Now if you are sitting on an uphill lie (front foot higher than back foot), more distance will be taken off your shot and you need to add more distance. And if your lie is downhill ( front foot lower than back foot) your ball will fly further and you will need to compensate by taking more distance off your shot. Hope this helps!

      @mtsmitty66 Před rokem

      @@GamerAbility First I want to thank you for what you do. You’re the best youtuber for this game and it’s not even close. I would love to see the current fittings in your bag. Just got my power up in the 80s on everything but wedges. Fun driving greens but the tempo on irons seems drastically different than others. What about the adjustment you make depending on the color? Do you take off 2 grids for yellow 4 for orange and then decrease if distance is shorter.

    Y didn’t you shoot that shot at 113 yds from the pin after calculating instead of moving it 132 pass the hole

    • @GamerAbility
      @GamerAbility  Před rokem +1

      So I make my calculations based on the landing spot. And then in this case I added distance on my club to compensate for the uphill elevation affect and lie percentage/uphill lie. All 3 of these elements together decrease the clubs carry distance so I need to add distance to my shot to compensate in order to still land at my wanted landing zone. Hope this helps! If I would have kept my aim marker at the landing zone I wanted, the elevation and lie would have taken off around 19 yards and it would have landed way too short. Hope this helps!
