The explanations of loft and spin are so goofy its like a Tim and Eric sketch
Great video my guy!!!!! Needed this
Thank you! Happy to help! Have fun out there on the virtual golf links!
Great video as usual, u r covering some great topics, learned so much watching your videos
Thank you for the kind words Jim! Glad the videos have been helpful!
Excellent vid… thx bro
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
another great video to help me git gud at this game! I'll take it!
Thank you R2!!! Appreciate the support you legend!
Finding your channel has been huge for this game, I have a question about putting though, are ball sleeves the only way to slow the lines down while putting? Or is it fittings
Thank you Blaine! Glad the videos have been helpful! So the ball sleeves are the one way to decrease the roll, which basically slows the speeds of the greens
Thanks bro
Happy to help!
Are really gaining distance if you look at it with the roll distance?
If you know what your doing with your fittings sculptor is low key the best class in the game. Your as long as the bomber builds and can really control your short game with the added spin.
Yeah Sculptor is very good with the right fittings!
I mainly use loft and spin going for a gorgeous little pin seeker with a wedge to get that nice little roll back into the cup, which I’ve done all of once 😂 but it was out of a bunker with a flop shot so it was pretty awesome. And I’ll back the right stick down on drives to compensate for my lack of natural driving power/distance
I'll flop shot any ball under 60 yards, maybe more
I use deloft on my 3 wood for long approaches from fairways when I am between clubs.eg 241 to pin deloft gives me 220 and a nice run up to the fllag.
Yeah that is a great way to use it!
☕️☀️⛳️ great work
Cheers Kevin! ☕️
When I bring up my shot shaver I can see that this is the ball going to go but I don't have the little number on the side that shows me elevation. How do I get that?
Hey I really enjoyed your video 👍 I was having a hard time with the shot shaping your video helped me understand it a lot better
Thank you! Glad to hear that it was helpful!
Had no idea could add distance to driver like that. How about the effect of wind when adding left stick loft?
Yeah the wind does have more affect with loft.
I agree,I think the L meter is loft and the R meter is spin.in real life loft is the only way to apply backspin.
Actually it’s spin loft. Just adding loft in real life won’t create tons of spin.. it’s the relation of the loft and attack angle that creates the most spin
hi in the top right hand corner the box indicates your club choices what are the small logos underneath (the small Circles)
That's the skills - none are active atm.
First! OoOoOoOoOo shot shaping! This looks useful on paper but seems impossible to execute consistently. Let’s Go!
Thank you Matthew! Let’s go! Yeah it is really hard to execute due to the penalty on forgiveness, but it is very useful when tempo starts to get better.
Are ball sleeves the only way to slow the lines down for putting?
So the ball sleeves are the only way to decrease the roll, which basically slows the speeds of the greens
Had to come and check this video to make sure I was getting this correct in the game. I think the devs made 1 annoying choice to this part of the game. The image for the right thumbstick is angle (a protractor). Left controls angle of attack moreso (Loft vs anti loft (or whatever you want to call it)). Right thumstick is really more about how the club head is connecting with the ball. Slicing underneath for back spin or less so. More like top spin and back spin in tennis. Being physically minded, the image of the angle (protractor) on the right really doesn't help against what it's main purpose is. Just me being pedantic though. As GA says, both will affect angle but the one in the game more inclined (pun intended) to do it, should be the one with the protractor picture (aka the left). They should have put the spinning top symbol (like in your stats) against the right hand bar. Thanks for the vid BTW. Loving this game.
can you help me with a setting? When I adjust fade and draw like you are doing, the blue line doesn't change. It just stays straight and doesn't move left or right like yours does in the video. I can't figure out what setting it is . Thanks,
So you have to turn provision true shot on in the difficulty settings
@@GamerAbility Thank you!
I just started playing 2k23 today coming from 2k21 and it seems a couple of the UI elements are missing even though I have them enabled in the settings. When I hold LB to enter true shot and make adjustments to the shot shaping, its not showing me the grid under my feet and doesn't show if the pin is above or below me. Any ideas what im doing wrong? Is this something I have to unlock the ability to use?
So it may be due to the difficulty setting you are playing on. So if you have lie grids turned on in the difficulty settings, hitting LB will cause it to show up. Now keep in mind, it will not show up if you have pro visions turned on. So if you are starting below the pro difficulty setting the game does a lot of the calculations for you so it will not show you the lie angle or the elevation information. Because with pro visions turned on, they do all the math and flight path stuff for you. Now if you turn off pro visions then the grid and elevations information still does not show up, that sounds like it could be a glitch. I have never experienced that myself. There is a hug settings to change where the elevation information is shown, but it should automatically show it by default. Hope this helps and that you figure out how to fix it.
@@GamerAbility Thank you! After messing around with the settings for a while I finally figured it out! I had to turn off the pro vision settings for these to show. It's counterintuitive the way it's described so I thought I needed them on, but now I realize they were already calculating these changes so it wasn't showing them. Thanks again!
Dont know where else to ask but when you are playing 3click is there a way to stop your swing if you accidentally start it?
Hey Dave! So no there is actually no way to stop the swing or reset in 3-click
@@GamerAbility doh I was afraid of that if you brain fart at all you are boned
You could just hold the button (1st click) until it resets but if you let it go while it’s still moving then the 2nd click will start.
@@leroyedwardsiii Does that really work? I feel like I tried that and it just topped the ball like crap...but maybe I am wrong
@@davekillingsworth6637 Yes it works, try it out.
I can’t get my shots straight I have leftitis
Yeah swing plane takes a lot of practice to get. Keep working at it and you will get that muscle memory down
watch at 2x speed
Wow no coffee again🤣
You hate to see it 😂🤣
This may be a stupid question, but where is the casual tab located?
So when you are in the main menu you can use the triggers to switch between the different game menus, and one of them is casual.
@Gamer Ability thank you. I'm new to the game and missed it completely. Thank you again. Your videos have been a big help.
Shift key to enter true shot on PC. L mouse click and hold and drag Lor R for fade and draw.
L mouse for spin.R mouse for loft.
Thank you for sharing this John!
You are the GOAT thank you I was so stumped and all my friends kept saying use L1 like buddy I don’t know what that means for my keyboard
Way longer than this needed to be
I always thought the right is loft and left is spin. 🤔
Although right stick does add more loft it's main function in the game is to add spin. The left stick in regards to up and down greatly increases the loft or deloft on the shot, which would of course add more spin. I think of them as their main function in the game, left stick for loft to take off distance and deloft to add some distance (and of course draw and fade); while right stick mainly adds spin to the shot. Best to combine a little bit of both, but the left stick changes distances much more than the right stick so have to be careful.
Yeah, I'm with you, bud. I've been playing this game for I don't know how many days, and I've been assuming the exact opposite of what's correct haha. 😅
"Topspin"
Front-spin, topspin, forward-spin, increased roll: all the same thing at the end of the day. I think I called it all the above during this video 😂
It makes sense to say topspin, but as we know there is no such thing in golf as topspin. There’s no such thing as side spin either, it’s back spin on a tilted axis 🤓
Doc helped you with this...admit it...we all know she's smarter than you... LoL!
🤣 Yeah Doc really is the legend!
You're not generating more spin. You're dropping at a steeper angle, so the spin is taking more effect...
Good explanation of what does what, but your understanding of how and why is laughable.
No need for the cam insert.
Wow the most boring shot tutorial every. Take a shot everytime he says right stick or left stick.
So shot shaping is basically identical to 2k21 then
