I always keep manicure kit items ($ store or in bulk on amazon so I give it to them if they use it like nail files, buffer, cuticle oil) and clear and blush pink polish along with individual nail polish remover packets. There have been so many times when someone from the bridal party has ended up needing something! Enjoy being a guest and not working!!! I can’t remember what that’s like lol! ❤️
Extension cord, light bulb with almost pure white light, nailpolish (clear, beige and red) and a nailpolish remover, towels and a small kind of camping chair, so I can work at the same height as my client sitting, hair clips to keep hair out of the face and also eversthing needed to put together a touch up kit :)
Swiss army knife, small pliers, earring backs, spring rings, necklace latches and small buttons. Many of my brides have been grateful that I had these items ;)
Thank you for every video you have created. The effort, thoughts and helpful tips you have shared have been a life saver. I'm in the beginning of my Mua career and watching you has really helped.
I carry an Extension cord, small scissors, emergency tampon, ibuprofen, electrolytes powder, nail clipper/file and a mini deodorant. You had some great ones that I’ve never thought of!
You share every thing with us Angie ,you hold back nothing. The thoughts and time you take to explain to us what you know is just Awsome. It take someone with a passion and love for others to share with us so much. Your just absolutely a rare gem All the best settling in your new home.
I also find wooden spatulas for decanting products on set and shot glasses for things like blood, latex etc if you need to create something quick and on the spot x
I like to carry nail polish remover pads, the oil based ones so it doesn’t dry out as quickly and it doubles as cuticle oil. I prefer them to individual nail polish remover pads as the regular remover can dry out the cuticles and nails and it’s really cheap and effective.
All those little expenses add up and although I do know the little details matter and make you stand out to clients, man that stuff must get expensive. Somebody forgets to return your umbrella, the word gets out that you have item "X" and suddenly you have 6 people asking you for one. Do you tell everyone else no except for the customer/talent if they ask you for items? I would think you would run out if you didn't. I wanted to be a makeup artist so bad but life had other plans and now I am disabled and cannot do it so I live vicariously through your wonderful videos.
Since I’ve been watching your videos I carry the dog poop bags love them. ❤️ I always keep a fan that I to dry lashes and I also take gum and a towel with me to put my makeup on.
I love your videos!! All of them. So informative, clear and professional. Easy to listen to as well. You are a wealth of knowledge and information and I am so happy to have found you!!!
Binge watching your videos haha. Another thing i recommend are oil film sheets. I give them away to my clients. Very helpful especially here in my area where its very hot and humid.
Good suggestions for the kit. I have found an umbrella is important to protect against the sun, really keeps your talent from melting. I also keep sun screen in my kit.
Your videos are really helpful to new aspiring makeup artists like me! ♡ I cant believe that I just started watching your videos last week and i binged watched all of them coz they’re all very informative. Thanks Angie and enjoy the wedding! Sending love from Philippines! ♡
I just found your CZcams channel!! You are INCREDIBLE!! you are literally answering so many questions I've had already! I know you mentioned a couple times the "Bridal Touch Up Kit" do you have a video on what you put in yours? If not I would love to see one!!
Congrats on the new apartment dear! One question: I would love to know what you do in order to get foundation to not crease in smile lines after a few hours? Especially on someone who makes a lot of expressions!
Thanks Makenzie!!! Less is more! I take it easy on those areas and try to correct/conceal under the eye where I can so I am using less product overall.
Do you have any recommendations on how to set your phone camera settings to make your photos look semi professional? I don't plan to buy a fancy camera but I would like to take nice pictures of my work to add to my portfolio.
I don't adjust any settings on my phone when taking pictures to be honest, I just put my clients/models in front of a natural light source and snap my pics! I usually don't have time to over think it, and I don't want to be the person holding everything up trying to take a picture with my phone.
If you have a client who will be wearing glasses to an event or for photos all you need to do is make them aware the makeup may have to be a bit more dramatic than they are used to for the look to pop from behind the frames - if they are comfortable with that you can go ahead, and if not proceed as normal!
These are awesome tips! Thanks so much for mentioning buying things that are eco friendly as this job can be very wasteful! I recently bought biodegradable baby wipes and they are great!
I don't - I pack things as I need them or leave them in my car. I'm in the process of overhauling my kit, once that is done I will definitely post a video. What I carry in my kit varies between jobs.
Hello, Angie! Thank you so much for your videos, they're really helpful and down to earth. I have a question: have you tried Morphe foundation palettes? They're inexpensive and I see a lot of people going to this brand to start their kits.
No I don’t, only when I am shooting outdoors and even then it has to be applied every two hours and usually talent is sheltered in between scenes. If a client/talent requests it I use any good quality fluid sunscreen - usually La Roche Posay.
Angie Di Battista thanks, was more thinking of bridal with out door weddings. In Australia you can easily burn quickly if your in the sun in the afternoon. I already use the la Roche tinted moisturiser as a primer when I can, it can just make the skin a little greasy and if it sweats into your eye......
Hand sanitizing is fine when there is no other choice but hand washing with soap and water and using hand sanitizer are not equal. Washing your hands is the most important thing you can do for hygiene. If I don’t have access to a sink (on location/shooting outside) I will use the hand soap towelettes and a water bottle to make sure my hands are washed.
Some of these items seem unnecessary, you’re an MUA not a drugstore. I’m sure it’d be appreciated that SOMEONE has certain things, but a few of the items, again, I think theyre unnecessary and if you’re starting out, can be overwhelming, especially if you do not have a car/ travel thru the cities by public transport. Carry what you need. The rest are just perks.
I would like to add almost all of these items have been necessary for me to be able to do my job on set and to ensure my comfort and well being, as well as the comfort and well being of my clients/actors/models. Reality is that you don’t know what you need until you need it and there are some things listed that your producers and directors will expect you to have on set. Starting out in this industry is overwhelming but being aware that we need to bring more than a few makeup products to set is part of the job. The great thing about this job is you can bring whatever you like to set and if you feel this is too much you definitely don’t have to drag it around but for anyone reading who is starting out I wouldn’t discount the value of being prepared for work.

I always make sure I have at least one extension cord, just in case

this might be obvious, but it wasnt mentioned....Always have your business card.

Ok that make me feel better. Thanks for the info and getting back to me so quickly!!!
Hello Angie, I love your videos. You had mentioned people who wear glasses. Do you have or can you make a video for eye glass wearers?
If you have a client who will be wearing glasses to an event or for photos all you need to do is make them aware the makeup may have to be a bit more dramatic than they are used to for the look to pop from behind the frames - if they are comfortable with that you can go ahead, and if not proceed as normal!
CONGRATS!!!! On the new Angie. Also thank you for being exceptional and providing much needed information
I love your videos, are so helpful 😊
These are awesome tips! Thanks so much for mentioning buying things that are eco friendly as this job can be very wasteful! I recently bought biodegradable baby wipes and they are great!
Wow, you are SOOO prepared! I love your videos
As Always Helpful and Nice tips , I always keep nail clipper and filler, and some basic nail colors n nail paint remover , specially when on shoots
How do you fit all of this in your kit? Can we have a kit tour, would love to see how you pack everything in!
I don't - I pack things as I need them or leave them in my car. I'm in the process of overhauling my kit, once that is done I will definitely post a video. What I carry in my kit varies between jobs.
OMG you were here!!! hope you had a great time

Omg muji is a serious obsession I love that place

Nope! They go where they fit!
I want to add more of these items and makeup items but I can’t fit anymore.. i need to upgrade my space!
Hello, Angie! Thank you so much for your videos, they're really helpful and down to earth. I have a question: have you tried Morphe foundation palettes? They're inexpensive and I see a lot of people going to this brand to start their kits.
No I haven't tried it. Unless I can try it in person I likely wouldn't purchase it. I might check them out at IMATS!
Hi, do you apply sunscreen to your clients, if so what do you use
No I don’t, only when I am shooting outdoors and even then it has to be applied every two hours and usually talent is sheltered in between scenes. If a client/talent requests it I use any good quality fluid sunscreen - usually La Roche Posay.

Karen after 50 check out Mecca’s sunscreen/primer called save a face! It’s super lightweight and not greasy and acts as a primer as well :)
Thank you so much. :)
Why use the hand soap towelettes when you have hand sanitizer?
Hand sanitizing is fine when there is no other choice but hand washing with soap and water and using hand sanitizer are not equal. If I don’t have access to a sink (on location/shooting outside) I will use the hand soap towelettes and a water bottle to make sure my hands are washed.
I love ur makeup what lipstick are u using? Also this is a great video / tips.
I actually can’t remember - I wear Stila lip colour in ‘Caramello’ usually or an Annabelle lipstick in Havana (I think!)
I carry duct tape and pegs. Im normally on music videos and find can save the day
kisses from the other end of the world
