Not uncommon. Basically everybody in the top 20 started playing chess at like 10 and became GMs before 21. Levy didn't hyperfocus on the GM title early enough and now can't bother because it would burn out his hairline and turn him into Tal with all the stress of prepping and playing strong players

I find the position at 14:04 very aesthetically pleasing. Both sides have withdrawn back to mostly their second rank, a Pawn and Bishop each hold the last vanguard, the White's shock troops seal the breach in the wall, it's like a calm in the eye of the storm, a re-breather in the midst of a medieval battle.
He gets so locked in to everyone of his lessons (videos) its impressive. High value education.

25:58 I had a game last week where I sacrificed my rook on h7 by their castled king. They needed to ignore it and take a bishop in the middle of the board. Instead they took the rook in 2 seconds which was a game ending blunder because Qh5+ with their g6 pinned to the king by that bishop.
As usual, my Sunday afternoon has just been improved, in particular as I've spent all morning brushing on preservative on 6 fence posts, and bitumen on the bottom 3 feet of said posts, in preparation of erecting a new fence....the wind here in Scotland having laid to rest the previous one.

It is amazing to see these kids play. I think chess will go through a huge "levelling up" over the next 10 to 20 years as the combination of youth with computers (for training/analysis but perhaps more importantly just for the unprecedented access to playing games with other high level players to push their experience) is creating opportunities never seen before. Fantastic.

Great stuff, man. I have tinnitus from shooting artillery. Thankfully, it's not painful. I've adapted to tune it out for the most part, but dealing with it unexpectedly and having to concentrate on chess is impressive.

After game 2, you said that this was a very different Magnus, which I agree on. My question is, whether you think, it was because Magnus just hold back in the first game or was it simply because he played with the white pieces in game number 2?
