    In this makeover, I transform a vintage hutch into a modern cane door cabinet, with MCM style legs and handles made from scratch.
    The hutch was split into two parts; the bottom half was refinished in charcoal black, and this video shows the process for the top half. Both were sold for a profit!
    If you enjoyed this makeover, please like and subscribe to see more. And if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer your comments.
    Thank you for watching :)

    Hello! Some of you have pointed out that soaking the cane prior to attaching will result in a tighter finish. I completely agree with this and it’s definitely the right way to do it. Thank you for your support everyone!

    • @ModernMakeovers
      @ModernMakeovers  Před 3 lety +32

      @@sandrarivera8374 Thank you 😁 Yes, I sell all of the pieces that I do. I purchased this hutch fairly inexpensively, and I saw potential for two separate makeovers; one with the bottom half, and one with the top. The bottom half would have been difficult to modernize into a style that I personally like, so I went with a simple sand-and-paint makeover for a quick flip. The top half on the other hand… I had much bigger plans for that.

      About that, there are about 7 seconds of what sounds like two people screaming at one another at 0:20 Like for real angry! I'm listening on headphones and thought my neighbors must be fighting or something then I realized it's the video. I only mentioned it because I was reading your comment when I heard it.
