    I have been reading the restrictions of the airlines and most of them will not allow more than 2 power banks of 20,000 mah each, therefore although there is a 30,000 mah power bank if you plan to travel by plane do not buy it because they will not let you take it/they will get in trouble. And yes: the real capacity of a 20,000 mah power bank is 12,000 mah, and a 30,000 mah one is 18,000 mah (you still have to subtract a bit due to inefficient power transfer between two devices)

    • @7Pori
      @7Pori Před rokem +4

      As far as I know, it's not the mAh that's the problem, but the Wh. I travel with an imuto 65w.
      The maximum allowed on a plane is 100Wh. Mine is 27000 mAh 3.7v which equals to 99.9Wh.
      No problems from my experience.
      Edit: I forgot to explain why I was talking about other power bank.
      Just check the voltage of the 30,000 mAh if it doesn't cross 100Wh you are good

    I have the 45W output version of it -- was like $41 on the bay. Very nice. I've done some rundown tests; and I think the rating is accurate. Also note it only charges itself at ~18w, but it will charge devices at 45.

    Turns out to be incompatible with my Thinkpad (t495). For some reason it remains at 5volt and doesn't switch to 20volt, so the laptop rejects it. It won't even work when the laptop is off. The equally specced AC adapter from them works fine though. Pretty sad about it, because the laptop's internal batteries could really use the help.

      What a bummer, I'm looking into buying this one for T480. can you confirm that the issue is not on the cable? Also what powerbank you end up using on your t495?

    • @brokko_le3
      @brokko_le3 Před rokem

      @@gelomorn I've used a very good cable, not some cheap one. The cable also worked fine with other sources. I never ended up buying another powerbank, but sometimes I use my ecoflow powerstation instead, which works great, but is kinda big. The powerbank does work well with my work-laptop (a HP) and I have the feeling there problem is also partially caused by the T495 specifically, as it's Lenovo's first AMD T-range laptop. Chances are that it'll work fine with the T480 or any other model.

      LOL educate yourself first ..
      Powerbank battery voltage is around 3.6 V, and the device voltage that charged via powerbank is mostly 5 V, like smartphone etc, thus it is needed to convert that 3.6 V to 5 V, and factoring in convertion efficiency, which is different on each powerbank (better quality powerbank has higher efficiency) and you get the result of the "Real" mAh
      In summary, any powerbank that has 20000 mAh rating on them, cannot charge 20000 mAh total of power on a smartphone battery, no matter what brand the powerbank is !
