Interesting version with the two pistons. Nice demonstration of the functioning, thank you.
Hi, the double pistons way: one for Time Exposure, one for Instant Exposure.
Bravo! Good job!
Nick! We don't use graphite dust to lubricate these shutters!! Clean out any rust with very fine steel wool on the inside. When all is clean, use furniture wax, well buffed inside the box. Everything else works dead dry - no lubricant at all.
What type of camera is this exactly? I just picked up an Eastman View Camera no. 2 and this looks to be the same or in the family. I am awaiting its arrival and choosing a lens shutter combo (with only small format experience) so your video's are very helpful!
one of the pistons probably has a pinhole at the end of the stroke so the air automatically escape while the other doesn't. That way, you don't have to mess with a pin to get long exposures.
if its still in bits could you scan each part into a computer with a coin or something for scale would love to try and make one of these
So that'd be why it's called "bulb" mode. Huh.
4inch x4inch Not sure of the Packard model number I've got but it doesn't open and close a fast as yours, any tips on how to get it to open faster, the item looks clean although i haven't taken it apart?
❤️😇
Can you please make pictures at an right angle or trace the shapes of the parts?
