Here’s a genuine S code 390 GTA! This Fairlane is from southern Alabama and is completely rust free! Ford’s version of the Chevelle and GTO. You don’t come across these often and still a top contender of big block muscle in the late 60’s!
EXTERIOR: Great looking car! Stylish roofline, vent windows, and fitted with GT dressings. We were really impressed with the body. It appears to have always been rust free! Originally born Wimbledon white, it was painted in the late 80’s and still shows great. The hood is equipped with dual scoops that are part of the GT package, the GT stripe decals are correct as well. The jambs are clean with good weatherstrips. The GT wheels are reproduction 15” billet with GT caps and reproduction radial redline tires. All in very nice condition. The chrome trim rings are original with light patina. The bumpers are in very nice condition with light patina. It appears to have the original windshield as well, light patina but very clear. Overall, a very sharp appearing car!
INTERIOR: It’s a sporty interior featuring bucket seats and console with the floor shifter. Overall, very nice from carpet to headliner. A good clean honest car! The door panels are good with minor wrinkling. The dash area is in great shape, not cut up or broken, it still has its original radio. There’s a cool set of Phantom tachometer added to the steering column as well as matching triple pack gauges under the dash. The seats look reupholstered, door panels may be original, the carpet is in very nice shape as well as the headliner.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Everyone can appreciate the sight of a big block! The correct S-code 390-320 hp V8 is installed, believed to be rebuilt with less than 1000 miles. Everything looks clean, fresh and proper. It has dual feed Holley carb with electric choke, aluminum intake. Dressed up with new chrome ford valve covers and air cleaner. The battery looks fresh, and the aluminum radiator looks new. It has power brakes, and ceramic Hooker headers that look new with no rust or pitting. Everything’s painted nice and in new looking condition.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is solid, nice, and clean. Painted very nicely under the lid and in the jamb. The weather-stripping looks replaced. Inside is painted nicely and It has a trunk mat liner installed as well as a spare and jack.
UNDERSIDE: Front end suspension looks to be recently rebuilt/replaced. Upgraded with new KYB rear shocks, dual exhaust with H-pipe and stainless Magnaflow mufflers. It has all new disc brakes in front, drum in rear. Also, the E-Brake is hooked up. Looking up at the motor is has a chrome oil pan installed. It has a C6 HD trans that looks fresh and completed with a ford 9” with 3.25 gears. The floors are bone dry and seams that are cleaner than most you will find! The whole underside was prepped, refinished with black paint, giving it a very clean appearance.
Service: After our thorough shop inspection, the horn has been repaired, the seat side panel has been reupholstered, and the power brakes received a new booster with fresh fluid.
Overall, a very solid car! One of the cleanest rust-free original undercarriages we have seen in a long time. The paint is glossy, the interior shows great, Engine bays like new. You see Chevelles, you see GTOs, but when is the last time you’ve seen a GTA Fairlane in this kind of condition.
A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. My dad had one of these that was deep reddish purple with the 390 in it. He said his brother was scared to ride with him in it! 😁

I like the tailpipe exit treatment on this car. Ford had them exit behind the rear tires from the factory, so this is a nice unique touch.

    Great price, great value !
My friend wrapped one of these around a tree all drunken up in Maryland back in the 80’s while shooting his auto 45 in the air.
We all survived and amazingly able to back it out of the woods and drive on to my other buddies cabin. These were tough vehicles, like iron tanks !

I have a couple of those stories to. I was one of the lucky ones. A few of my buddies got killed in other crashes. Alcohol, big block cars and being a teen do not mix well.

I bought it for $1000 1983. It was a ragtop I needed to have the quarter panel fixed. I saved up $2500 to get the quarter panel the exhaust and the top fixed. It would’ve been a brand new car. I let Friend Dr. it to get a six pack of beer for the soccer game here in San Diego soccer they were on top and I was so happy to have the party. I wasn’t paying attention. When the guy knocked on my door, I’m gonna help you. I’m dropping the car off. This is where he told me to send it to you. I said say what your Fairline and walked outside no Friend but destroyed my car never saw him for five years after story. This is most beautiful to me for some reason. I just love it.

Those are not hood scoops, they are power domes and have left and right blinkers incorporated into them. GT's and GTA's had them from facotry.

The Ford S code 390 ci motor doesn’t seem to get the same respect that the GM or Mopar big blocks get but coupled with a C6 auto that's an excellent drivetrain.

If I was able to buy a car from you guys it's going to have to have a nice sound system and I don't mean a boom boom boom it's got to have a decent sound system AM FM CD player for God's sake you keep saying oh it's nice to listen to the mufflers and blah blah blah I've had these kind of cars when I was young and everyone I had had an amfm radio yet the cars you're trying to sell them for $58.88 and 98000 I don't even have a freaking radio come who puts all this time and money into a car like this and leaves a freaking AM radio if I'm going to take that car in a long drive I want to hear some good 50s 60s music 70s 80s whatever
