I found a really weird graphics card from an AIB called Corn. Its supposedly an AMD RX 560, but some things don't check out.
Check out the videos where a got a rough approximate of RX 560 performance:
• RX560 in 2019 - Is it ...
Here is the product listing for the Corn RX 560:

@@DawidDoesTechStuff hi dawid
Well at least it's not an RX 560 from Wish that would've turned out to be a HD 5670
Haha!! Definitely better than an HD 5670.
HD 5670 is too good to be a Wish card ;P
I got something like that, a supposed 5570 I think it is with 4gb of vid ram and supposed to have been the best thing evah... It couldn't play World of Warcraft when a calculator could prob have handled WoW, I kept it as a reminder to only buy what u know lol
It could alternatively be a 9500gt
@Gaming York what drugs have you been ingesting
This company sells renewed GPUs, most of which are mining cards.
The Asian guy we were looking for!
New Egg or Corn?
@@boring5357 Corn
hmm, i'd believe you except there are 3 outputs on that card. we all know that reworked mining cards' main drawback is single vid output. Unless you think they're fantastically in-depth?
@@VeggieRice he said “most” are mining cards. Very well could have been a normally used gpu left by someone.
it probably is indeed an rx 560, but not the desktop variant, if you see the codename of the gpu is "baffin", while the rx 560 is polaris, it could also be an rx 460 (the rx 460 is baffin too) but is not likely (the memories of the rx 460s are at 1750mhz), there is a gpu with the codename baffin and the memories at 1500mhz, and is the rx 560 mobile.
That is very interesting. I had a look at the mobile version of the RX 560 on Techpowerup, but they seem to use the same picture of the Die for most Baffin GPUs, so I wasnt sure. Thanks for the comment. I think you may be on to something.
Nope. The whole architecture of RX 400/500 is Polaris, not the chip itself.
China also has some SPECIAL cards they have made for their own market and can indeed be a 560 but were made for a special purpose.
It's what they call a RX 560D I think. They are basically RX 460s that just got a new name and were intended for China but now they are the only ones available in most of the EU
what a pain
"I'm not sure how this package makes it through customs without any inspections"
X-ray machines, son
looks like a pound of cocaine or like a bomb but oh well
I get the reference and that this is old but that doesn't usually seem to keep them from gouging boxes in a lot of cases.
thanks for buying suspicious products to satisfy us
I do it all for you guys. 😂
Dawid Does Tech Stuff it won’t hurt if u try to buy “hidden gems” from china too xD

Do I sEe An ApPlE tHiNgS🙃
when the graphics card is sus!
4:44 I love how my graphics card that has a 6 pin connector didn’t come with an adapter and yours comes without even needing it
Now we know where it went lol
As a Hong Konger, I looked up on Google, I can't even find where that address on 3:03 at, the transciption wasn't even in Cantonese, it's in Mandarin, except for the word Hong Kong and Tsing Yi, the Chinese words on it is written in Simplified Chinese, where we normally use Tranditional Chinese
That is amazing information. Thanks for letting me know. 😊
Way back I used to work at a place here in Canada that labelled its products as made in China even though I was running the machine doing the manufacturing with local materials. I was told that it was to avoid duties and tariffs for Canadian goods wherever it was going.
I noticed that too. Perhaps a Chinese company passing its products off as HK so they look more trustworthy.
I thought it was a graphics card made out of corn.
That would have been awesome! 😂
Dawid Does Tech Stuff and yummy too 😂😂
Korn should make a graphics card. That way when it coil whines it'll sound like one of their songs.
That would be a great alternative to the Soldier boy console.
its sound FAR better than that shitty band. hell, a group of drunk 5yos could make better sounding music than that band ever could.
@@millermonsterair Ah c'mon, they're not _that_ bad. They had some pretty good songs. Plus they sound a hell of a lot better than the shit music coming out these days. But if you disagree, hey, to each their own. :P
@@unnamed715 there are several reasons why i absolutely HATE them. namely, the fact that they cant even play their own "music" properly without screwing it up. most of their sound is done in editing. theyre overrated and shitty at their attempts at music... plus, their newer crap is even worse than what it used to be... im a HUGE metal fanboi and they, along with FFDP are some of the worst things to happen...... Black Tongue is WAAAAAAAY better if youre after a heavy and dark feel..... if you wanna check out some newer metal thats actually good, let me know. ill link you to a few
@@millermonsterair Like I said, to each their own. I'm more into old school hip hop tbh.
I love it when shady vendors do you the "favour" of listing something as a gift. If you are unlucky, customs will look at it, rightly surmise that this is a lie, and charge you an arm and a leg in duties and taxes because they have no indication of the actual value of the item.
Corn is not Shady🤣
gotta love that customs can tell the difference between a gpu and a pound of cocaine
There are 2 models of rx560. With 896 stream processors and 1024. Rx460 also has 896 stream processors and it doesn't require 6 pin connector while the rx 560 with 1024 processor requires 6 pin
I have a Sapphire Pulse rx 560 2gb with 896sp and a 6pin. Seems completely useless as it only pulls 35watts with the tuning I gave it. Won't let me boot without a 6pin connected.
-150mv core, -29mhz core, +250mhz ram
Yeah, I actually forgot that they released a cut down version of the card. I thought they may have just flashed an RX 560 bios on an RX 460, but I'm not sure which one it is.
The 896 shader version is just a rebranded RX 460.
I have Sapphire Rx560 with 896 stream processors, 4gb and with 6pin connector draws 65w of power. I tried flashing bios but it was all the same, maybe AMD used other remaining stock of rx460 to modify
It really does low-key look like they shipped you a kilo straight off the line when you first opened it xD
I saw these on newegg site also and was wondering. Glad I found this video,, thanks a lot. Great .
New to your channel... Huge props on the Korn reference ( huge fan of band). Love your style presentation.
Even makers like Xfx, elitegroup,MSI make the 560d variant,(which is the 460 rebranded) you find these in many prebuilt systems. Like HP, Dell and Cyberpower. You can also buy off the shelf 560d if you are not careful. A full 560d has 1024 shaders. As opposed to the 896? and believe it or not that causes a 5%+ decrease in overall performance. So it's not just a overseas/Asian market deal. Just a basic cut down OEM variant. One thing is you can try to flash the BIOS to open up those extra shaders to 1024 if you have the know-how. Several other CZcamsrs have done this, I tried with an OEM 2gb Dell branded 560d(elitegroup mfg) but was unable to do it, but was able to do it on an Asus 4gb variant....so, your mileage may vary.
Your channel has grown a lot since the 1k subs I remember you where at good job
I'm a maized, you never know what will crop up.
I've got a Barley X2 CPU liquid cooled with milk, so a Corn gpu really appeals to me. Thanks!
Jackjude - your puns are a-maize-ing - not corn-y at all 😂
😂
So I'm a bit cornfused. If my ears heard correctly, this card is a maizing? Personally, I think it looks a little husky.
Nice choice of music during the benchmarks.
Just found your channel and I’m looking forward to what happens in the next vid. Good Interesting content. Keep grinding my friend!
Thanks for the awesome comment. Welcome to the channel. 👍
Been wondering about these cards. Thanks!
I got a Miami Vice vibe when you opened the package. Looks suspicious af. :)
Haha!! So suspicious. 😂
Nice video. I love the outro
Have you thought about running 3DMark in these situations and just seeing what the graphics score roughly matches up with?
I bought that same exact GPU about 4 months ago for around the same price on Amazon. I got the card, PC would not even start up. I would get beeping sounds from my motherboard. Glad you had better luck with that...
Be interesting to see how the flash to a real RX560 bios does for this card :) hopefully we will get a follow up video i find this kinda stuff interesting!
I will definitely do a full up video. 😁
@terry broderick I've done it with a couple cards before. So hopefully it will be fairly straight forward. Thanks for the encouragement.
I know j keep asking but Do you think you could do a video on the intel core i3 3220
I know u probably get questions like this all the time, and for that I'm sorry. But I just got one and u haven't done a video yet. Ur my favorite channel to watch when it comes to older pc hardware, and thus this would be an amazing video for me to watch...
Just an idea please do it...
Happy holidays. XD
P.S. good luck with the COPPA stuff
Thanks for the info! As a not so knowledgeable PC geek, I probably would have plunked down the cash for that. Keep steering us in the right direction!
The packaging is standard for cheap EMS: The box with your adress on it is bundled with many different packages going the somewhat same direction. For the last mile it gets packaged again and then send out using DHL, while for the first part of transport some agent is used (JCEX, Yanwen, and more) Doing it that way just saves a lot of money, while also being quite fast.
9:32 I was looking at the other GPUs in the graph, and then decided to tell my retired 7950 that it's apparently still fine.
As someone that watches a ridiculous amount of CZcams, it warms my heart when a smaller channel that I enjoy gets their first sponsor for a video. Keep up the good work man.
he's buying a pound of cocaine watch and learn🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's awesome so I'm your expert opinion would you recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap and decent GPU or would you recommend ppl stay away? I know you have your doubts in the video but it's still something ppl still would like to/need to know. I'm still not upgrading from my 1080 ti But maybe a little farther down the road I might and your videos like this help those who are looking to pick up something newer or better then what they have at the moment. Thank you again.
I have a 750ti from corn with the same shroud. It was cheap and as advertised during the gpu bitcoin craze two years ago. It was actually a good overclocker as well. Got me into pc gaming
Nice majesty palm (Ravanea rivularis) behind you.
One thing that is curious to me is people ever seem to focus on one thing that makes a LOT of difference, that is the bandwidth capability.
What does this even mean?
I'm not sure but i think it refers to the speed at which data can be outputted from a graphics card
According to google "Bandwidth refers to the external bandwidth between a GPU and its associated system. It's a measure of the data transfer speed across the bus that connects the two (for example, PCIe or Thunderbolt)."
Basically how fast data is transferred
Basically
@Dawid Does Tech Stuff
The Corn RX460/RX560(D) has PCB made by BIOSTAR and the Die is from Pegatron(today a part of AMD) for OEM's. That's why you not found much informations about it. You can find same die nummers on gpu's in Apple's Mac's and on OEM-GPU's from Diamond too.
I know this because im working for BIOSTAR in Germany.
Have a X-mas! :)
It might also me the 896sp variant of the rx 560. I also experienced something similar on my msi aero itx rx 560 4gb where the info on gpuz, hwinfo and techpowerup didn't line up.
Congrats on the sponsor man!
Thank you. 😁 I was pretty excited when they reached out.
😀🤠😂
I totally bought a Corn Graphics card last year and it works great. Yeston and Corn are both fairly common in Asia.
How it makes it through customs, no organic material will show on the x-ray, therefore it is not of interest to them. Also a sniffer dog will not react
Haha!! Fair enough. 😂
3:20 I have seen my address inside a package like that when using a 3rd party intermediary to import merchandise from China. I have only done this once, and it was to import an HDMI Chinese Dendy Famiclone unit into the United States.
Thanks for informing us how to buy. Very informative.
One time, I searched for some graphics card on aliexpress. Can't remember which one anymore.
But I laughed when one of the first listings had a title with around 20 different video cards from both amd and Nvidia. As well, it wasn't where you choose different items in a drop-down. It was literally a single device that purported to simultaneously be a bunch of unrelated products.
And two years later (2022) this same card on Newegg sells for $300
Maybe you should try to switch bios on this gpu in another video, might get some performance gains.
I actually got a GTX 650ti 2gb ver from Corn over a year ago, it's been doing good, I even overclocked it's core and memory frequency another 300mhz
Dawid, do you have a video about your microphone/boom arm/pop filter?
Yeay more brutal overclock!!
No I don't. I feel like they have been very well covered by kther creaters, but ill let you know what I think. The boom arm is a Rode PSA1 I think its called. It is a but expensive but its really awesome! The mic is a Blue Yeti. I dont like that mic much. The sound quality is okay, but its huge and the the usb port on the base is really fragile and I have almost broken it many times. The pip filter is some random cheap one I bought in Japan and it isnt very good.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff Oh thanks!
Nothing like watching a Dawid video and getting the new Honey & LTT youtube ad lol
G'day Dawid,
Just wondering if you contacted NewEgg about the disparities, I'm sure they would like to know
I just found this old video, but I wanted to leave a comment.
There are two things in GPU-Z that indicate that it's definitely a RX460.
ROPs/TMUs: 16/56 -> RX460, since the RX560 has 16/64
Release Date: Aug 8, 2016 -> RX460, since the RX560 was released in Q2 of 2017
The 2GB/4GB thing the website pointed to is explained quite easily. There was a 2GB and a 4GB variant of the RX460.
It's possible they just somehow flashed a RX560 Bios on it, so it shows as that one, while it's still an RX460 hardware-wise.
Great video didn't know this channel was a thing glad I know now.
Wow, I'm mind blown by all the riff raff gpus out there...
I know right? There is so much random crap out there
"It looks like a pound of cocaine hides in here." Oops, wrong package!
How long did it take for shipping?
As far as I know there are two RX 560s. One with the same amount of SPs as RX 460 (rebrand) and one with more SPs. And the clockspeed was a typo.
I've seen these so many times on Newegg and I laugh my ass off every time I do.
Well done Dawid. Be honest though it's fun investigating these cards 😂
So much fun. 😁
as long as those CUDA cores run at full-speed, i think it's still a good purchase
3:35 I don't know how it got through customs looking like this. Customs never saw it mate, the retailer dispatched it from Hong Kong, it went locally to a DHL depot, got bulk loaded onto a plane with a seriously lacking customs declaration (if any), was popped over the seas and landed at an airport to be whisked away to an air side transit shed (or whatever equivalent your country has) and was promptly loaded onto a van and sent to you.
Ps lied about the value for customs purposes? Cheers for info.
For anyone curious, these are “scrap cards” what I mean by that is the company buys a bunch of Damaged GPUs or just specific gpu parts at very cheap wholesale prices and then puts them together to give it another life, more often than not they buy used mining cards/ ewaste cards, replace a few components, slap it on a new pcb and package it up as being new
I think a couple years back linus tech done a review on a Korn card but it was a nvidia and it performed well
The gaming benchmarks really are a bit odd. My GTX 1050ti does render around the same FPS, but with the highest graphical settings.
Hey can u test amd 5500xt in pci-e 4 because I saw on web it's faster in pci-e 4?
Which program of AMD do you use at 5:55? I've never seen that befor.
It is actually a graphics card by a Chinese company called JYVGA. I am using GTX 1060 made by the same company. No issues so far.
Did you really check? Investigate? Does it perform as a similar like.. MSI or ASUS 1060?
@@CapComa For me there is no difference in performance. Temperatures are very good. I bought it from China. They also provided me 2 years warranty.
Love these type of videos
What is that shiny square thing in the opening at 1:26? It looks like some sort of processor but I didn't think they had mounting brackets.
It's a Open loop waterblock
@@ardwivedi16 I literally have watched all of his vids, not understanding the vast majority of what he's talking about, but still completely entertained the entire time. I just know dual RAM = Good

It's made it really difficult that NewEgg is open market. So many options and bad listings.
Corn Electronics sells a lot of stuff on Newegg , maybe it's like a house brand from them.I've never really trusted Corn , something seems a bit shady.I make sure when I order from Newegg it's actually sold by Newegg.
Hey i was just wondering if you are still going to flash it and overclock it, b/c im getting one today and i was looking forward to doing it myself.
On the invoice they didn't even spell "commercial" right. Did you notice this when filming, or even after?
Could be a old 460 reflashed and sold as a 560, as the cards are in reality the same (the 560 gpu have a better bin but that's it, and the BIOS is different but polaris BIOS are modifiable so it could easily be a 460 made into a 560.
I’m shocked at how expensive is it! And that it was in NewEgg! Nani?!
I've seen Nvidia cards by Corn also. Curious indeed, since they sold for like half the money they normally go for.
Man you really catch me off guard with some of your comments. I love your humor. Great video and information. Thank you. 👍👍🙂
I am glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for the nice comment. 😃
I was in the woods around Vancouver, it was nice
Newegg is strange. I bought a Intel 660p and the retail packaging came in another sealed but just brown box with some barcodes and the information that it was made in China.
Great video! I would love to see a graphics card variant comparison for possibly some 1660s.
this is an rx 460, you can see the substrate in the 560 has a black plastic at the edge
I think some out of country company send random cables because I got a type c to type c cable or what it called with a hard drive before had the cables I needed then just one random cables
I may be wrong but thats what I think lol
Why would Newegg have ANYTHING to do with this kind of product???
I know right? I found it really weird that they had these listings.
@@DawidDoesTechStuff if you look above the price on the Newegg website, it says sold and shipped by corn electronics, a 3rd party seller
Is a 3rd party seller. A lot of people have that option filtered out by default. New Egg has a lot more stuff then you think if you allow third party options to show up in search results, and a lot of it comes out of HK, but yeah it can be a gamble if its someone without a lot of sales history.
Newegg has been a market place not just a reseller for a long time, it's like Amazon except not quite as big
Bit surprising that Newegg doesnt have stricter market place criteria, after all Newegg is one of the most conscientious online shopping organisations who are not afraid to take patent trolls on and win.
A customer at work bought one of these. It didn't even work!
Thats interesting. I should get more of them and see whats up. 👍
What wallpaper do you use for your desktop?
This card didn't come from Newegg. Newegg also has listings for various other retailers on their site. Including Asian retailers. In order to make sure you're buying directly from Newegg, when you're searching through products, right above the first listing you will see Sold By: . You want to click Newegg instead of All Sellers.
3:50 it looks like corn!
Did anyone realize that the image on the back of the box was the mustang from need for speed the run?
I was half expecting you to say the sponsor was RAID SHADOW LEGENDS.
Were you able to use the official Amd drivers or did you have to use the Dodgy supplied disk drivers ? I find this expensive $ 129.99 Canadian on NewEgg , you can get one for half that on FleeBay ...
It was very expensive for what it is. It was so weird to see this kind of card in Newegg thats why I thought I would check it out. 😁
Oh I used official AMD drivers I downloaded from their site.
I've used multiple VPNs in different machines. The whole idea that you can get different content is a bit misleading. Most of the providers like Netflix and CZcams TV actively try to thwart the use of VPNs. Even when I am trying to access US content in the US, often Netflix and CZcams along with other similar providers will detect the VPN and not allow ANY content. It's nice in theory, but doesn't generally work in practice.
I've bought the gtx 750 version during the gpu crisis. it was legit but looked sketchy. most of these I believe are rebranded with a generic cooler. I also think these are the chips that weren't up to spec from amd so they down clock them a little and put them on these generic pcbs, and resale them.
What software does he use to see the fps and cpu utilisations
Honestly cant wait to see this overclock :P it's an interesting gpu for sure!
Overclocking this would certainly be great. You can save on the heating bill since it may set on fire
@@weavercs4014 would be interesting for sure!!
It's nice and all... But can it make popcorn with a plate heat spreader on the core?
I think it is a 560D. An overclocked 460. 2 type of 560 is available in the market.
i buy a rx570 gigabyte and the memory is from a mining model but the firmware was modified to work as a gaming model i search for the update on support but i didnt want to risk the gpu and lost all the money
Maybe Corn is a re-branded Rosewill :D
This is a RX460 1024SP verison. By using a BIOS flash tool we can flash 460 to 560 easily.
Watching a moment in history, Dawids first video sponsor. wish i couldve been here then
I got a gpu exactly like this one, the difference is that mine has different fans
i LOVE this guy’s random analogies lmao
