Finding a Shiny Magikarp is kinda mean in the game that gives you a Shiny Water Onix for free.^^
Had it happen to me in Soul Silver. Didn't find a single other shiny and I had a dew hundred hours in it
i've never found a legit shiny in any pokemon game, only in romhacks where the chances are increased :(

@Sniper Diglett and Dugtrio are moles. Their big tough mole claws is why they start with the attack Scratch and later learn Slash. They're _abstract_ moles like Whacka from the Paper Mario series, based on Whack-A-Mole arcade games.

I love your wrestling empire series not because I understand it or have any interest in wrestling but just because of the sheer volume of infectious joy that exudes from your soul every time you play that game. The world needs more of that kind of energy.

@@VCV95 The You Testament is a riot too! The game doesn't set all of it's character flags correctly so you will occasionally have Jesus Christ himself warn you "Touch me again, and I'll kill you!" or "Satan is a friend of mine! You mess with him, you mess with me!" It's hysterical.

Ah yes, ghosts in this gen cannot be damaged by tackle, but CAN be damaged by Dig, which is just tackle, but from below. Because we all know, a ghost’s greatest weakness is a suplex from below.

I think you called it at the right time. Even if you got lucky and eventually got past the Blastoise, there's no way you'd beat the Snorlax.
Curse could be considered, but the speed drop would probably be catastrophic for the team other than Snorlax.
@@skeetermania3202 Could beat Snorlax with CurseRest, but Snorlax is the only pokemon you can safely set up with, and there's a very high likelihood it's the last pokemon being sent out. You could set up on Pikachu, but then ALL the other pokemon become even bigger threats due to outspeeding.

When Level 69 was reached and your mind went for that joke he probably threw the fight just to get you and your mind out of there, that's why it was such a radical difference from just one level.

I feel like if you made the Pokemon wrestling game a regular series, you could make SUCH a creative story around rivalries, alliances, etc, etc! This would be amazing collab opportunity for you and your friends too! Imagine having Whattageek, Brandon, Ash, Joe, etc in as characters! Especially with your love and fondness for wrestling it would, most likely, end up so damn good too! lol

i think the "Pokemon Wrestling" thing could be a neat idea...like, if you did a Solo-Run with two pokemon that end up with super-similar results (like Same Level, Same Reset-count, Same Time, etc), then they should have to 'settle it IN THE RING!!' afterward lol

Possible winning strategies against Red (final battle):
Set 1:
Earthquake
Return
Curse (Get in Celadon)
Protect
Battle as shown in video up to Venusaur, use curse in first turn against it, second turn use protect to guard against Solarbeam. Proceed to finish Venusaur with EQ/Return. Hopefully Diglett can outspeed Blastoise at minus 1 speed and one shot it with +1 atk earthquake.
Set 2:
Earthquake
Return
Double Team
Protect
Pretty same as before, use double team instead of curse when Venusaur comes, protect when solarbeam hits, keep doing this up until you maxed evasion on diglett, hopefully Blastoise will miss Surf. Very cheesy strategy.
I always wonder why he doesn't seem to use Curse in these runs

Always up to you of course, I would say for Gen 2, if you're confident the post game is unwinnable, feel free to skip it man, usually the part I'm most interested in is the Elite 4, and if it's going well then it's interesting to see if the post game is possible, but since it wasn't going well. Anyway I might be in the minority.

Hey, not sure if you know this, but in Gold/Silver/Crystal, there's a bug that makes female Pokemon stats lower than the male Pokemon. You might consider this when doing future challenges.
It's not a bug, but how Attack IVs affect gender (lower range IV = female, scales with gender ratio). Still annoying, though.

Again a very enjoyable run. I'm wondering: which fossils did you take?
There’s a rare item in Kanto, you only get one of it since it’s a hidden item. Beserk Gene. It’s increases your attack by 2 stages but then confuses you for the battle (when tested it lasted 256 turns). With this consumable held item you can solo Red with Magikarp. But it’s 50/50 you hit yourself since you are confused.
Can you do a challenge where you see if three Diglett are better or worse than one Dugtrio?

But three Digletts would probably be worse than one Dugtrio unless we use a modern EXP Share. 😅

in gen 1 (and I believe 2) you don't get the EVs you've earned before you level up. that means at lvl 100 you don't get the benefit of EVs naturally. that fix to this is to deposit the pokemon in a box and then retrieve it. easy to check once you've done some battles at 100. this might have been the final push that you needed to either survive surf or beat blastoise
Diglett learning sunny day actually makes sense to halve water damage or go out with a weather effect

If you've never seen a show called "Monster Factory" check it out: Justin and Griffin McElroy make hilarious creations in different games; anyway! One of their things while they worked at Polygon was pitting all of their creations against each other in a wrestling game, and it was so funny.
Thing #1: at one point in this video I thought you said "spongebob" instead of "sludge bomb."
Thing #2: My mom wandered into the room during the Lance fight, heard "Charizard," and then went "Oh! Now I know what you're talking about!" Because she doesn't know much about pokemon but she knows who charizard is 🤣
I did this run in Pokemon Shield even though my Diglett wasn't properly ev trained as I was still kinda new to the Pokemon Franchise at the time I did this run. Gym Leaders Melony and Piers ended up being total brick walls even though I mostly grinded on wild raid encounters. Although I managed to defeat Leon in a few attempts and finally beat the game I'll have to revisit that run again sometime whenever I get the chance but with better ev training.
When is pokemon stadium 2 getting recorded I loved the first 1 had me rolling with the surfing blastois 😂
Here's a thought bubble whenever a regular Pokemon Challenge makes you run along like it takes two weeks or something crazy like approaching 3. Then you just need a quick video to get back on schedule that's the Gap you could do the Pokemon wrestling shows in. Because that's a good catch up video to get you back on schedule. It means they're going to be random af but we still get more I think that would be okay....
Speaking of unfortunate shiny encounters, I once found a Shiny Wingull in Gen III, and while I did have Pokeballs, I didn't have any Pokemon that could deal damage and not kill it. Used up all my Pokeballs trying to catch it and failed.

I've had an idea for a challenge: in one generation you've never played in, or that you haven't played in a lot, can you beat it dealing damage ONLY through DoT? (Damage over time. That would mean using poison, toxic, burn, sand tomb, whirlpool, and other entrapping moves that deal damage every turn.)

I love you found a shiny magikarp. I remember playing gold as a kid. I just caught a shiny water onix but before I got back to land I ran into a shiny karp.
Poke Wrestling was good. Not sure if it would be as good to watch more of or if the novelty was part of why it was so good. But hey if you want to do more, I will definitely at least try watching a few more of them. Also, which fossil did you take (fossils are good for the CZcams Algorithm)?
Ya know, I remember when I accidentally killed the Red Gyarados. Yeah, for some reason. Young me thought it was in the water still, so I spent like 30 minutes looking for it. I found it, and caught it. For a good while, I believed it was the same one. 😂
Never realized it was insanely unlikely to get it, but oh well. I remember shortly afterwards I found the Gold Magikarp. It is amazing what you find when you know absolutely nothing about a game.
im not sure if you know this or not but in gen 1&2 you can still gain stat exp (evs) at level 100 and reaply them to increase your stats by depositing the pokemon into the pc and tacking it back out

You know, I just thought of an interesting challenge! Can you beat Pokémon Emerald with only the Pokémon on the title screen? (Manetric, Flygon, Volbeat, and Torchic)
I always thought that was implied to be that trainer’s Pokémon and it would be cool to see what challenges that team would have to take on!
Honestly, you might’ve had Red if you scored a lucky crit on Blastoise. Charizard, Espeon, and Snorlax are all not known for their physical defenses. Plus, having Leftovers plus not eating any Surfs or Giga Drains beforehand means you just might’ve been able to tank a stray hit or two, just in case.
I would love to see Pokemon Emerald with Slaking only. It would be interesting to see how you would deal with truant. Especially against Tate and Liza.
