Excellent interview Barkha. I think we should push for a different framework. Just like in US. To be honest I am US citizen with birth rights in Shillong, Meghalaya. But trust me I can't buy any property there. Do you think such framework should be followed going forward? Honestly, in US I feel my voice would be heard more than in Shillong. I trust cops here in US more then what Kuki's are going through. Kuki did not even have the fundamental right to approach a cop for security. Those 2 girls approached cops to save themselves. So long as the Meteii especially who are in power used to call Kuki and Zo tribe as illegal infiltrator and illegal migrants and the mental attitude of the bigger brother i.e Meiteii is not change there will not be lasting peace in Manipur, although there may be a short term peace but it will not last long.
