I am not a researcher of history however the debate on separation of a Muslim state has always been subject of my interest, after gone through this thoughtful statement of Dr Ishtiaq I understand that Congress never wanted to give a piece of land to Muslim minority of Hindustan and GB, for thier future interests, for example to secure thier Capitalism, wanted to divide Hindustan so that Muslim ideology be used to curb socialism, my perception is that leaders of Congress believe that Muslim minority shall always be a cause of concern for independent India besides, Muslim elite of that time, inorder to hold powers, was also interested in an independent Muslim state where they keep on flourishing, thus, Hindus, with the connivance of GB, successfully launched M A Jinnah through Prince Agha Khan as Muslim leader, who was famous for his "GORA" style of living and talent his possess, to ignite Muslim sentiments for demand of a separate land for Muslims, resultantly Hindus of Congress successfully managed to get rid of thier strong rivals.
MA Jinnah was a lawyer by profession popular for being a successful lawyer famous for his impressive "Gora like" style but was never a politician who knows psychic of general public.
Pakistan now is a land with multiple nations blaming each other for thier miseries, Muslim Elites are the Beneficiaries. It's my theory.

When Jinnah was offered 1st PM job for united India by Congress as a last attempt to avoid partition, Jinnah said " Hindu should not rule Muslims". This was final rejection by Jinnah.
The fact is Hindu is not dominating or ruling Sikh majority Punjab, Muslim majority Kashmir, Buddist majority North east, and Christian majority Goa.
It was collective decision by Jinnah, Muslim landlords, Muslim elites, Muslin educated middle class that a separate Muslim country would give them better opportunity.
The ultimate "Boss" , Great Briton could have rejected easily as Muslim League was small unit. But, Briton believed Pakistan will obey British after 1947 and somehow approved partition and Pakistan was created .
As an Indian, I feel Creation of Pakistan was correct in 1947. Now, It does not look good for both India & Pakistan.
Today, More man population means more wealth, bigger market, larger business, ultimate economic super power.
    China has done that .
Pakistanis never used to discuss partition & compare with Indians in the past. Rather, Pakistanis were comparing their ethnicity with Turkey, Iran & Arabia.
Since India has streamlined its economic policies to become economic power, Pakistanis are comparing India & discussing partition.
    Now Pakistan has 2 options:
    1. Convert LOC into International border and work with India for economic progress of both countries
    2. Merge with India to take part in overall development of the Great India & glorious past.
Pakistan can not continue Proxy war with India in Kashmir for long time.

Fascinating discussion throughput. Yet to listen to part 3 & 4. Not a single boring moment. High marks to both participants. I am curious about the 3 years Jinnah spent in England. In fact I am curious about the 6 months before he departed to England and then the 6 months prior to his return to India. His activities would shed a lot of light on his person and history. He must have had a social circle in England, who themselves (their writing and leaning) could provide an insight into Jinnah’s mind. For such a Westernized man, such a principled and disciplined man having no clue of religion, to use Islam for political purposes and someone who was not known to have great emotional connection to the lower class suffering Muslims, there must be other reasons why he took up the mantle to lead Muslims of India to a separate homeland. Very puzzling and intriguing

In comparison between Jinnah and Nehru.
Jinnah was a pragmatist and Nehru an idealist.
Jinnah had a deep core belief from the very get-go that the Muslims and Muslim culture would not accept being dominated by Hindus.
He struggled with finding a compromise within united India.Ultimately he realized that it was not feasible and he came around to the idea of a partition.
The idea of partition suited the British for many many reasons also. And also because that is what they have done throughout history.
Jinnah being an astute lawyer and a politician understood that. And in fact ultimately decided to manipulate that fact to the advantage of the Indian Muslims.
But I do think that Jinnah sincerely believed that India and Pakistan would be more like the US and Canada and not hostile countries as they turned out to be.

Till 1920 Mr Jinnah was working with Tilak and other right wing people in congress around Mumbai Pune although he joined league by 1913. To call Jinnah non religious is wrong because the Khoja Islam of Jinnah was much different then the wahabi / Deobandi / Barelvi Islam. Gandhi returned to India in 1915. By 1921 with Gandhiji coming in mainstream of congress politics.that sidelined Jinnah and other tall leaders of congress and other parties. So they founded alternate voice to Gandhi.

An illogical statement to start the whole talk.
If Muhammad Ali jnnah was pro-british why did he supported the Palestinian Movement of Mufti Amin Al Hussaini against the british. Many resolution in Pakistan Movement were passed for Palestine state against the Israel and British.
Secondly, MA Jinnah was offered many times the PM ship of Whole india by British and by Gandhi, He was declined those offers.
MA Jinnah declined the governor general ship of Lord Mountbatten in Pakistan and Indian Congress accepted him as thier first governor general. MA Jinnah swore in as GG of Pakistan and the very british colonial Lord, Mountbatten sworn in as the GG of modern India.
And there are many other logical explanation and historical facts that will prove these conspiracy theories wrong !
Next time ask him the answers of these questions and the books British wrote on Jinnah. You are my brother if you want those books and research papers, I can get them delivered to you !

A great leader has to accept and honours each and every sect and every religion of his provincial states thereby promoting their various culture. Constitution of every country should have equal status for all and freedom of democracy. No favours and importance to religious majority. They can attain power by ballot but to respect and honours all religions and sect by Head of state.mohd.ali.jinnah fought for freedom but when achieving independence of India, he was in favour of his religion and its people alone by partitioning India. His biggest blunder boosted by Winston Churchill of UK. After getting part of India as newly stated as Pakistan which has also 5000 years cultural heritage. After partition of India,we witnessed massacre and genocide. Puraana pachhim Indian most temples were demolished and Hindus were forcefully converted to Islam was act of jinnah who was Gujrati Hindu converted to islam.so many Hindus were driven out of Pakistan is miserable history.Pakistan has also have Hindu cultural traditions for 5000 years was not at all honored by Pakistan governments since 1947.

its so frustrating to see.. why _jinnah had to be British's Pawn.. informing British like their agent. in 1931... Congress was fighting for freedom for all.. _congress gave as much as possible to him even offered a fifty percentage participation via Maulana Azaad..what more he wanted..its such a shame when one intelligent Indian becomes British's agent...and works against the genuine freedom struggle of Indians.. Millions died due to partisan..Did Jinnah ever took responsibility for these innocents life lost.. he just flared up the religious extremism..and turned humans into qaatils of fellow Indians.. I can digest Pakistan creation but millions people killed..millions lost home..all because of one selfish man.. :-(... If religion was a true uniting thing then.. Bangladesh wouldn't have been created.. his whole idea of religion as a nation is a lie.

Quaid e Azam , the leader who changed the World....
...To judge stature of a personality, it is important to know what the adversaries and competitors say about the qualities of that person.
Mrs. Vijay Lakshmi Pundit, a prominent figure and Nehru’s sister, stated, “If the Muslim League had 100 Gandhis and 200 Azads and Congress had only one Jinnah, then India would not have been divided!”
The statement reflects the bare fact that it was only Jinnah who fought the case of Muslim nationhood in India and won it through the force of arguments

I have replied earlier and am repeating it again and if this time it is removed or deleted I will complain to CZcams for this censorship being exercised against me. Look Qurrat ul ain Zehra, I really wonder what have you read apart from Pakistan Studies. About Ambedkar exposing Gandhi. Yes, as a bitter man born among the Dalits he had genuine complaints against Hinduism and upper caste Hindus. However, the Gandhi - Ambedkar Poona Pact agreed in 1932 was a commitment given by Gandhi that in free India seats and representations will be reserved for Dalits in accordance with their population strength: 15% pluse 8.5% for Adivasis or tribal people. That agreement has been incorporated into the Indian Constitution. In fact reservations have expanded not contracted and now applies even to OBCs or Other Backward Castes. A Dalit intellectual and Academic class now exists in all universities and challenges Hindu supremacist ideas. Equally on the basis of one man one vote Madam Mayawati a Dalit lady has been elected 4 times as the chief minister of UP, whose population is equal to that of Pakistan. India has had at least 2 Dalit presidents including the current one, several chief justices and many diplomats. Also, Zehra do you know it was the Indian National Congress which on the advice of Gandhi appointed Ambedkar as the Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee. Otherwise Amedkar had only one vote, he along elected and that too from East Bengal and not his own constituency. ALL OTHER DALITS ELECTED TO THE CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY OF INDIA WERE ON CONGRESS TICKET. Now, what you have never certainly read is that Ambedkar turned to Jinnah who shunned him by saying the Dalits must struggle for their rights but separately. He would support them but to form a party with Dalits and Dravidians was rejected by Jinnah. AFTER THAT AMBEDKAR TURNED AGAINST THE DEMAND FOR PAKISTAN AND WROTE THE MOST VITIATING CRITICISM OF ISLAM AND MUSLIMS AS A CLOSE GROUP LIKE MAFIA. People outside it were not part of the Islamic idea of brotherhood; on the contrary all others were Kafirs and worth nothing. He went on to declare Islam as the most oppressive religion with regard to women and also the most resistant religion to reform. DO SOME ORIGINAL READING OF AMBEDKAR'S 1945 EDITION OF HIS BOOK IN WHICH HE REJECTS PAKISTAN AND CRITIQUES ISLAM TO THE MOST LASHING COMMENTS. As always you rely on third rate propaganda rather than reading the original works of the man you are invoking to damn Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi saved the lives of hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Calcutta because on 15 August 1947 he was sitting among them and not in Delhi to take part in celebrations. Then in Septmember later he save the lives of thousands of traumatized Muslims who had taken refuge in the Purana Qila. Do read Dr Ishtiaq Hussain Qureshi, vice chancellor of Karachi university and Federal Education Minister of Pakistan. He was from Delhi and has narrated how Gandhiji helped saved the lives of Muslims. Chaudhri Mohammad Ali, Pakistan Prime Minister (1955-56) has in his book, The Emergence of Pakistan, written in glorious words Gandhiji's services in forcing the Indian Government to pay Pakistan Rs. 55 crore as its share of British colonial treasury which then led to his assassination at the hands of Hindu fanatics. No Muslim killed him but fanatical Hindus who alleged he was pro-Muslim and pro-Pakistan. Do some reading before you start writing ill-informed childish comments which are superficial standard propaganda.
