A review of the Casio Edifice EFR-S108D-1AVUEF
This was the link I saw on Amazon (this is an affiliate link so if you purchase I will get a small commission), but I would wait to see if the price comes down below $100.

why buy this when you can pay $50,000 extra and get a AP Royal Oak
LOL! True, what was I thinking!?
Spending $50,000 on a watch looks quite silly.
😂😂😂😂😂👌
@@muhammedyousaf09 I'd rather buy a new car for 50K USD.
My daily right now is a BB58. When I saw your review and the edifice white dial, I instantly ordered it. Mine is arriving today and I plan on wearing this is my daily watch.
Thanks for making me pull the trigger on it!
Oh nice, if this can compete with a BB58 it is doing work :)
It is honestly a fantastic watch, the Edifice line doesn't get enough love.
Got it and I actually enjoy wearing it.
Although it can not compete with the BB, it is a great light everyday watch for under $100 that gives off oak vibes. The bracelet is really not that great, but that is to be expected at this pricepoint. Casio yet again did an outstanding job!
I am wearing it as of watching this video !!! Awesome watch - love it
Oh nice, I'm glad you are enjoying it - it is a fantastic watch :)
These non chronograph Casio Edifices keep getting better and better. My prediction? The reigning champion will keep its title
Hmmm - maybe, you will have to wait and see :)
this is my gold standard for a no luxury quartz watch. I will have one of these forever until the end of my life for everyday use.
Agree, such a great no nonsense daily! Glad you are enjoying it!
Thanks for shedding some light on another lesser-known Casio. The whole Edifice line is a bit mysterious to me. It's so often overshadowed by G-Shock and the classic/vintage line. But there seems to be some real gems in there.
Totally agree, they don't seem to be super popular, but I think they are really cool.
I like Edifice subdials design more than GShocks
Excellent Review!
Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching :)
Got mine today and I LOVE it!!!!
I love to hear that. I always get nervous if I recommend something and then someone gets it and is disappointed. Enjoy it!
@@JustWatches1 , thank you for showing these watches - these videos help a lot!
I subbed my guy 😂👍 keep up the great work.
Thank you so much and welcome aboard !
This is more casioak than the casioak
Haha, agree!
Exactly ❤️
I buy an Casio edifice efr-s108d from online not an authorized shop so I didn't get the official warranty now i have some doubt that my watch is not a original one i found something is suspicious outside box there was nothing mentioned about any information inside box there was no user manual or card specifically for this watch there was for another model and in the watch bracelet clasp are not shinning as other, the date are showing in white in my black dial watch. I bought it for around 58 dollar do you think it's a copy product?
the brecelet is nice... Great review!!
Thank you :)
Cool and sharp-looking watch
Thank you for watching and commenting :)
This Edifice never miss 👌
It indeed, does not miss :)
great very interesting thank you for the review
You are most welcome, thanks for watching :)
Suggest you to look for the EFS S570 version, solar powered 'basic' chronograph with power reserve indicator. Relatively small too at about 40mm (bezel diameter)
Great suggestion, yes that one looks great!
Отличные часы, отличный обзор! Спасибо!
Нет проблем, спасибо за просмотр!
Had this for around 3 months. Absolutely love it. Sure the bracelet is awful, but it's a lovely little watch overall.
Awesome! Yeah, I don't mind the bracelet, but I want people to know what they are getting into if they pick it up :)
@@JustWatches1 is it possible to take some links out
@@anonymous-wt9lf yes i think you can remove six
@@anonymous-wt9lf Yes, you can remove links!
@@MagnumPI42 ok, thanks.
Great watch mate, I have purchased mine a few days ago.
Sweet, are you going to do a review?
@@JustWatches1 Of course, but not in the near future.
they need to, make the bracelet solid and better clasp with safety catch, and make it tough solar with multiband! i would defo buy it then!
The Edifice line has nicer models with solar, but the bracelets look the same, which is why I have hesitated to try one out.
It is beautiful indeed, but there is another model, lacking the few cons of this particular piece. I am talking about EFB 108D. The differences are as follows:
1. Solid band
2. Screwed back
3. Slightly bigger size - 45mm case
4. My opinion - a bit better and cleaner design.
Cheers and keep up with the great content!
You might want to stop by the channel a bit later today :)
That's way too big. While I do like it has a solid steel bracelet as opposed to hollow, it was too big and the indices we're too reflective and not really dynamic like this one is
can we replace the hollow bracelet of this watch with th solid bracelet of EFB 108D, as the bracelet dimensions look very similar to me
The watch us still fairly new, have to wait for third party watch straps for this model. Do you know any watch adapters or brands which have this 12mm lug adapter?
I do not :(
I'm sure one will get made eventually.
Is it possible to change the strap on these to a solid stainless steel bracelet? I'm not sure I'm a fan of the hollow links
The way they made the endlink makes it seem unlikely. It uses a very small lug width opening that isn't standard and I don't think anything short of a custom bracelet would work.
Just nice! enough said🙂
can we replace the hollow bracelet of this watch with the solid bracelet of EFB 108D, as the bracelet dimensions look very similar to me
I'm not sure unfortunately, let me know if you try it!
hey man, sick video! is the bracelet sizable? I have 6 and 1/4 wrist size, and since the bracelet is so unique I want to make sure I can size it
Yes, you can size it. It only has 3 micro positions on the claps, I would prefer 4, but you should be able to get a good fit with it. Let me know if you go for it what you think of it :)
@@JustWatches1 are some of the links removable?
Yes, up to 3 links from each size can be removed if I remember correctly.
is there any chance to switch the original bracelet into a NATO one?
As far as I can tell no, unless you use a conversion kit for the endlink.
Thanks - I love this watch but I don't like metal bracelets. I prefer leather or resin.
Is there any option to modify this to leather?
It would be really hard to switch because of the way the bracelet integrates. You might google to see if there is a solution, but I don't know of one :(
@@JustWatches1 Thanks
What is the second watch at the end?
Casio Edifice EFV-100D
Отличные часы! Очередная находка! Спасибо!
Согласитесь, спасибо за просмотр :)
Very nice and in depth review. Is worth buying it for 120€?
A bit more than I would want to pay, but if you think you will be okay with the bracelet, I would go for it.
Looks nicer than the older 107, but the snap-in case back is a deal killer for me on any watch.
Fair enough!
Crystals and bezels are snap in… if you’re worried about water resistant
i just ordered the white dial version a week ago and i have to say it's absolutely beatiful and i'm shocked it only costs 100 euros
I’ve often said these Edifice models are all the watch you will ever need! Glad you are enjoying it!!
@@JustWatches1 Yes. I always wanted GShock GST. Until I saw ecb 900pb.
can you cut/short the bracelet, cause its very long
Yes you can remove links to make it shorter!
Can you change the bracelet without opening the caseback? And can i just use aftermarket strap adaptor?
You wouldn't need to open the cashback. However, because of the lug design you would need a custom strap or use an aftermarket strap adaptor as far as I know, and I am not sure if one exists unfortunately.
I see, thanks for the reply
I just found out that G shock GA 2100 have same lug width 16mm and GA 2100 already have aftermarket strap adaptor. Maybe it will fit EFR S108
Hey does it mention what steel it used? Is it 316 stainless steel?
Great question, I usually gloss over that detail. It doesn't specify on the watch or the Casio website if it is indeed 316, it just list stainless steel.
@@JustWatches1 thank you! this watch would be the perfect piece for me. I just can't find it right now. Hopefully i can get to try this after lockdown
The only thibg keeping me out of this watch is the quartz mouvement, i woukd love to have it with automatic movement.
I agree that would be really cool. You could check out the Tissot PRX autos, they are quite a bit more $$$ tho
(from Google translate)
You sure a thin nato strap wouldn't fit between the bar and case? The underside looks bigger the 16mm, more like 18 or 20 with only the front being small. Though maybe I'm not picturing it right with the bracelet taken off 🤔
Maybe? But I don't think so. If anyone else knows they can chime in. Unfortunately, I don't have it anymore so I can't test it.
@Gwinter452 if you want to get a different strap then this isn’t the watch design for you. The integrated bracelet and case shape/design is homage based. Most people buy this watch because they like the royal oak design and probably can’t afford one or even get one. If you want a nato strap or to change straps there is a million other watches out there for you.
i love them edifice
Same, really hoping for some new ones around this size in 2022.
bạn nghĩ sao về đồng hồ casio efr s108d màu trắng thay vì màu đen , màu nào sẽ đẹp hơn, cảm ơn bạn
Cả hai đều trông rất đẹp, nhưng tôi nghĩ tôi thích mặt số màu đen hơn. Bạn thích cái nào hơn?
@@JustWatches1 tôi cũng nghĩ như bạn
Try tiffany blue, i got it recently.
How change battery?
The battery in my EFV-100D actually just died, so I will put a video up soon! The EFR-S108D should be similar.
What's the best EFV-100D or this one? I really need to know man
If you can do a Versus with two watches
You are in luck:

Was wondering if I have a bad taste 🤔 since I like the bracelet on it
No way, I think it does look great on the bracelet. I just know some people will either not like it or look to change it. Personally, I don't mind the edifice bracelets at all, I think they are fine.
Damn this looks so good! And so cheap!!
It's all the watch you ever really need if you aren't an addict like myself :)
Where can i purchase one, the link says currently not in stock
I got mine from www.relojesdemoda.com/en/. I think it is a European release, I can't seem to find it from a US vendor.
Thanks!
Please suggest a replacement for bracelets
The major downside to this watch is the integrated bracelet. I'm not sure you can swap it unless they make an adaptor.
How big is your wrist? Thanks!
6 and 3/4 inch
just bought the watch and have to say, that it’s very nice good looking and quality watch
bracelet is super lightweight comfortable and don’t pull the hear at all... just need to put a little bit of lubricant oil when it’s new to avoid the noices ...and voala!!! for sure better option than solid links bracelet with a super sharp edges and super heavy (like an strapcode...) and away better than vostok amphibia bracelets :)))
Super glad you are enjoying it!!
Personally i think this royal oak style watch wouldnt look good on any other bracelet other than stainless steel !! personally 41mm is actually too small so this is a no go for me with having big wrists shame they dont do a 45 mm variant as ive noticed this last two years Edifices are generally getting smaller ive a EFV-120DB-1AVUEF ON A BOND NATO STRAP and thats a 41mm which id a preffered be bigger like Edifices use be and well known for !!! great review though m friend..
Thank you. Yes, I think the trend is toward smaller but it seems to be a pendulum. They make quite a few interesting 45mm edifice models but I tend not to browse them since they are too big for me. Agree about the bracelet. I wouldn’t switch it but like to point out it would be difficult.
Very nice looking watch, but I can't help to wonder, since the lume is poor, would it perhaps be better to have indices of highly polished steel, and sword steel hands? They would catch reflections well, and it might look more purposeful and dressier.
Yes, when you don't have to worry about lume you have more options on how to do the hands. The only thing about highly polished hands against a black dial is that they are sometimes hard to see, but I think it would have looked cool on this watch for sure!
@@JustWatches1 "The only thing about highly polished hands against a black dial is that they are sometimes hard to see" -- That is true, but here I think the subtle texturing on the dial would help set off the polished steel.
They would have made the same hands that the white version. These white plastic hands are horrible.
I'd like to see that with solar and atomic timing.
That would be really cool!
I just ordered mine. The bracelet and lume are a bummer but I love the design too much to pass it up
Yeah. I thinking of those negative as well. Like to white dial instead. But might pass it because of the integrated bracelets.
The design is killer and the bracelet is fine for me, but I know some people don't like the stock edifice ones.
There seems to be a different version on Amazon now that can take a 21mm width band. I'd rather it be 20mm, but at least it's still a lot better than this weird 16mm one.
Yes, 21mm is tricky but not impossible like the integrated version.
Is this a dress watch or a daily casual.
Probably more of a daily casual, however, people where all sorts of watches as dress watches now. This would definitely pass.
A comparison btw 107d vs 108d would be nice to see, if you are keeping them both 😄
Sadly, they mostly get flipped. Hazards of a watch channel :P
Xin lỗi ,nhưng cổ tay bạn là bao nhiêu cm vậy cảm ơn , tại tôi thấy bạn đeo khá đẹp
Cổ tay của tôi là 17.145cm
Cảm ơn bạn
Seiko 5. Новые сертина 38. Обзор 🙏🏻
It would be ideal if the diameters were between 43mm and 44mm wide.
Fair enough :)
Love the design of the case! Would be amazing if they included the multiband 6 functionality to this watch and maybe also replaced the date window with a digital display like the LCW-M100D series Casios. I would buy such a watch in a heartbeat.
Oh that is a really cool idea, I would like to see that!
S108d хорошие. Тонкие.
Да, невероятно тонкий и очень удобный.
and better strap and lume even if that costing a little more
Agree! And sapphire glass :P
Honestly the whole plus side to these value sports/everyday edifices is tied into being able to change the strap. The lug width here is a gigantic problem.
Yes, I agree, not sure why they went that way.
I don't disagree that it's nice to be able to change the straps, but this whole "integrated" bracelet is just the look they were going for. To give it standard lugs would completely change the appearance (and basically be the EFV-110D).
Roy Roblox I see what you are saying... the bracelets on these Edifices just isn't good enough for me to wear with any regularity. Before I changed it out on my 100D, I just..didn't..wear it.
so this is like 100D but with SAPPHIRE thank you Casio for being rational.
Tank you 🙏🙏👍🇹🇷
So no Nato strap? That's a no go for me then.
Yes, that was why I wanted to point that out. Theoretically, you could use one of the conversion kits, but I don't have one to test out if it works.
@@JustWatches1 Interesting, I did not know about this.
A better bracelet would have added maybe 30 bucks to the price and would have made the watch a much more complete package.
Yes! I would love if they would do something like that.
im not a watch maniac or anything can u explain whats wrong with the bracelet?
coz i dont see something wrong
It gives a vibe of hublot...
I can definitely see that!
this is like the combination of RO, Nautilus and Ingenieur.
Very much so, nice observation.
Just ordered it in tifanny from Casio India.
That dial color looks beautiful!
Don't like the colour on d marker and hour and minute hands
Fair enough - I am tempted by monochromatic efss570d-1a, but it is twice the price and the bracelet looks the same, which is not good enough for that price imho.
@@JustWatches1 I was going to buy this one EFS-S570D-1A. But the white markers and white hands kills d premium look of the watch😔
Royal oak alternetive
Exactly! And less than 1/100th of the price.
I own this watch (living in Germany). The case dimensions are perfect for my 7 inch wrist and will be for most wrist sizes, I believe. It sure looks good. The shape of the bezel and the case made me buy it (Genta-style). But I must say I would have preferred a slightly different design. The watch would look classier and more retro if the bezel was inside the case dimensions (as in not protruding the underlying case). Also a red second hand would have been my choice.
The bracelet is the biggest downside of the watch, either it's too loose or too tight (and I'm not talking about link adjustment but micro-adjustments, but maybe that's just me being a perfectionist). And since it's not replaceable with a bracelet/strap of your liking you're stuck with it.
The lume is indeed ridiculous, lasts for a couple of minutes and then it's gone. Why bother at all to apply lume on the hands, Casio?
Also worth mentioning is the date window. Good thing about it is the black background which blends in perfectly with the black dial. But it's a bit on the small side, meaning it is barely legible under less than ideal light conditions (at least when you are older than 40 :-D ).
Ok, that's my opinion of this particular watch. Sounds worse than it actually is. Overall, I still like it.
I have one question though. The second hand hits the markers in some parts of the dial like 100%, but in other parts it is slightly off. I wonder how that is possible. I mean the markers should have the same distance to one another and the second hand should move evenly throughout the dial. So what's going on there?
I like your videos by the way. :-)
Great question about the registration of the seconds hand. From what I’ve heard from a microbrand owner, alignment has so many variables it’s very difficult to get it perfect all the way around the dial. It requires the dial to be perfectly printed, and then perfectly aligned to the movement. The the movement has to be put perfectly into the case, etc. Getting those all right every time is extremely difficult and super small inaccuracies across those variables blend together into misalignment. Not sure if that’s correct but it sounds reasonable. Also most QC tolerances probably allow for some misalignment. Seiko certainly tolerates slight misalignment with the chapter ring and bezel. They probably do the math on returns versus fixing the problem and I think people who worry about a degree of misalignment are actually a small minority of the market. Yes, we are the weird ones.
@@JustWatches1 Thank you so much for the enlightenment.
Is the hair pulling game strong or what?
@@BOBGAR6 My arm is relatively hairy but I have no issues with the bracelet in this regard.
Thanks for the great overview! There really isn't any small and thin alternative to this in the Casio lineup I think. The EFR-S567D is beautiful and thin (and actually at the moment even cheaper than the 108) but it's much wider I think. Will probably be too wide for my wrist....
If you watch this and still buy MVMT I feel sorry for you 🙃
True! Haha
we need an aftermarket bracelet for this watch!!! I pray that someone on Ali-express reads this and opens up the flood gates to modify this watch!!! :U
Agree! I think they would sell like crazy
@Aman Bhardwaj Possibly, but it would need to have the short lug width and the first link would need to be wide enough to line up with the case. I'm not sure if this exists.
The text is too busy.
Yeah, triple lines of text on the top and bottom. The bottom doesn't bother me as much as the triple branding at the 12 o'clock.
Overpriced and out of stock on Amazon. Now that youtubers have found this, it is even more expensive on ebay. This watch is worth $99 at best, but supply/demand economics has raised its price up.
Yes, it is pretty annoying. Hopefully, they make a bunch more and the price goes back down.
I paid around $180 bucks for the white dial version, it was the only one left on Ebay!! Get em while they are hot!
It is a kind of casioak dresswatch. But unfortunately only available with a black dial. According to your contest: The result is predictable because of the bracelet. It would not be a problem for me but it is for you, because you are not content with what you got but want to change it all the time.
Fair points all. Especially the part about not being content and wanting change all the time :P
Todos copiando o Tissot prx só pq foi eleito o melhor design de 2023

How much price 😂😂😂
Depends where you live unfortunately
in blue dial and you will win
Blue would be really nice!
I don't like that screws
That is fair :)
What a lame back for such a cool looking watch! :'(
Haha, yes, not much effort on that part from Casio!
Very ugly white bands unfortunately. It could have been a big deal without that.
Hard to switch out to unfortunately, thanks for watching!
