... Jeste li imali ljude oko sebe koji vas mole da ih pustite u svoju blizinu, samo da bi bili vaši? I pazili na vas? I disali sa vama? I pružali vam ruku u svakom prostoru i vremenu, svakoj situaciji?
- Jeste... Imali ste!
I jeste li se baš kod tih koji rječito ponude pruženu ruku, na kraju morali najglasnije upitati:
- Gdje je ruka? Davim se! Gdje je ta ruka? Nema ruke! Naravno da od takvih nema ruke. Pred njihovim očima ćeš se koprcat' tačno toliko koliko slamka, za koju si se uhvatio, može izdržati. Ako do potonuća slamke ne uspiješ isplivati sam, računaj se potopljenim.
...
Ako se ne udaviš i ako preživiš pomjeranje tla pod nogama, ako jednog dana ponovo staneš na njih... sve ćeš moći zaboraviti, pa i oprostiti. Sve osim jednoga, a to je da si bio napušten i prepušten sam sebi onda kada si bio najslabiji i kako si se osjećao zbog onih čiju si ruku najviše trebao.
