    I’m surprised about the coffee and red wine😂. Nice! I’ve actually given coffee up for January. It’s helped me to not rely on it but I’m looking forward to drinking it again, occasionally.

      Agreed! I know the feeling...I did a month without coffee recently. It brought my caffeine tolerance back down the zero, and makes it nice to drink again moderately. I was doing 2-3 cups per day (200mg each...lol) and now do 100mg every morning 30 min after waking up and it's been a great change. Much less anxiety and reliance now. Good on you for doing a month off!

    The body does not need exogenous sugar / carbs. It makes the 5 g we need from the protein and fat we consume. Agree it’s vital to add movement. Always ! Walking even helps calibrate and heal our brains. Moving through time and space.

    Hi Greg, love that you made this video, everything is spot on and I've been doing these for a long time now. A note on the turmeric, research shows it's much more bioavailable when combined with pepper, so make sure you have them together. I make golden paste for my dog and sometimes I have some as well. On the smoothies, add frozen avocado to get more healthy fats and yummy creaminess. If you ever make another video, research fermented foods, improving gut microbiome has multiple benefits and it's been shown that there is feedback from organs back to the brain (and not only down from the brain to regulate organs), so it's good to work on that. Best wishes to you!

    These are great tips, Greg! I used to drink large amounts of caffeine to make it through my day, including one to two energy drinks a day. Since I started juicing, I cut that in half, and then I cut it in half again. I cut out the energy drinks all together. And the juicing has been helping my daughter with her acid reflux.
    On a sidenote, ‘protein powders’ can be highly processed, and contain ingredients that are not good for you. I recommend if you want to add protein to your smoothie, to just add the protein. I alternate between hemp seeds, pumpkin seed powder, and Flax or Chia seeds.

    • @GregGottfried
      @GregGottfried  Před rokem +2

      Great info April, thanks! I thought it might be too detailed to get into that protein topic in this video, but I think you’re spot on. They pack them with Sucralose nowadays, and cheap protein sources. I like pea protein, either straight (usually from true nutrition) or Orgain brand has a good one. Definitely can relate on the caffeine too.

Also check the documentaries Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead 1+2 by Joe Cross and Super juice me! by Jason Vale. Really nice documentaries on juicing and healing diseases!
      I would also maybe change up ingredients instead of daily the same ones. And if possible use fresh ingredients instead of frozen ones ;)

    Hi Greg 👋 another great video.
    I have a question for you. I have a chronic illness which limits me to just a few hours of work per week.
    I need to increase my income and I'm thinking my best option (long term) is to slowly build an online business.
    I'm thinking POD Tshirt sales.
    Do you think that's a good choice for me? Or do you have any thoughts on what the best business would be for me?
    Because of my low work capacity I basically need to be really targeted in how I go about things.
    I need the biggest return for the least hours.
    This is not because I'm unrealistic or lazy! I'm actually quite driven and a motivated person.
    Hopefully you can understand what I'm trying to say.
    I've realized I need to try and depart from $ per hour type work because I can't do many hours!
    And if my condition eventually improves then I'd love to have passive income streams anyway 😌

  • @michaelsbeverly
    @michaelsbeverly Před rokem

    This was a strange detour from POD videos. But a cool video, thanks for uploading. I like how it's a funnel to your main channel with a super trendy and hot topic, excellent business move, you're a genius.
    Note, if you're in Ketosis, you don't need any sugar. The brain will get plenty of food and you'll be fine. That said, people who aren't in ketosis need to remember that "sugar" doesn't mean white granuals you sprinkle on food. Orange juice will spike your blood sugar worse than a snickers bar or M&Ms, so people see, "eat more fruit" and they think it doesn't matter if they're drinking juice (it's worse than candy). The green shake is great, but if you're fat, the banana is terrible (use a few strawberries or other berries instead and/or a dash of stevia if you can't choke down the greens).
    One problem I see with this advice: Most of your audience is overweight and a good part is obese, so eating a banana a day and other fruits as well as pasta/rice (even brown variety) isn't going to be the right path because the first issue is being fat.
    So, while in transition to get rid of brain fog, it's best to also lose the extra weight, which would mean not following this advice to the letter until after you've hit ideal weight (use Dukan Diet or something similar to achieve this for best results).
    Amen on the drugs.....I was watching some videos by Jordon Peterson's daughter on the Lion Diet and how it helped her get off all kinds of drugs. Good information, and another reason it's good to use some kind of elimination diet to see what's causing allergies or inflamation, etc.
    Oh, fyi, Peter Attlia just released a blog post today or yesterday on the new studies around coffee. Turns out the micro-"stuff" and caffine is (apparently) responsible for reducing the risk of brain diseases and neurological diseases....so turns out coffee is good for you. As for the wine, look, no wine drinker drinks one glass, so for most people the advice is bad, eliminate alcohol unless you can keep your drinking to a few glasses a week (it's like the drug problem you addressed, sure you're getting one thing fixed (anti-oxidents) but you're introducing a host of other negatives.
    Anyway, good video, and I have a Ninja and Magic Bullet, I second your advice, get a Ninja for smoothies!

      Thanks for the comment! I had the same concern when researching Omega 3, so I always buy a premium one. The Nordic Naturals one I've been taking has been really good. No fishy burps, no bad taste, they use a 3rd party to test their purity, and they have a very good ratio of EPA/DHA (which I hadn't even gotten into in this video, but it's a huge benefit). I hope that helps!

    • @GregGottfried
      @GregGottfried  Před rokem +2

      For Kale, Spinach, and Broccoli, I use "one handful". It's not very measured, but once you make a few of them, you'll see how much you can keep adding without sacrificing flavor or texture. For the ginger root, I use about 1-1.5 inches, and I use the small ginger root (less than 1 inch thick) because it's more potent. Hope that helps!

      Thanks Domenic, I appreciate that. I feel like I burst at the seems when I learn these things, so I have to get this stuff out of my brain and a video like this is the best way to share it. It's rewarding to have a quick video I can send to people on the go too. In most cases, recommending a whole book to someone is too much to get through, when a quick 10-15min video with just the key takeaways is much more practical. The challenging part for me is to get all the information organized in my mind and recorded into a video that flows cohesively. I know that was more of a response than you asked for, but I really appreciate your support on a video like this that takes so many hours to make and essentially is 'just another video on the channel'. Thanks man!

Make a separate channel for topics outside of the scope of making money online and POD and mention the other channel on this one from time to time. I agree. They've got to be organic. The GMO/pesticide vegetables are terrible. And to think "back in the day" all vegetables were organic naturally, now we have to pay extra for it.

      Agreed! First, I want to say that I appreciate this channel and the interesting new topic. But, it is extremely dangerous to recommend stopping antidepressants for a week without psychiatrist supervision. Most drugs cannot be stopped cold turkey and can result in withdrawals and even suicidal ideation. I’m not saying western medicine/drugs are good, but once someone is already on them it is critical to taper down properly to avoid negative side effects. Just need a disclaimer on the video.
