When I was a kid, I fucking love Log Horizon and when both my cousin and friend told me that SAO was better than it, I was hyped to watch it.

I actually liked Spice & Wolf and Maoyu Mao Yuusha for the micro and macroeconomic lessons. I was at a point in my life where I was already getting burned out of anime because it was full of kids/teens, tropes and recycled simplistic plots… kinda like nowadays with 80% of new anime. Then and now I just enjoy older characters and more mature plots.

I'll be honest with ya, this clip is what convinced me to watch Spice and Wolf. Garnt's description of it being, "I'm getting horny looking at this wolf waifu, but I'm learning about economics!" is both a hella good selling point and ended up describing that show to a T lol
Maou Maoyuu Yuusha aint perfect but it is still worth a watch. So many shows tackle the theme of war and their message is always a platitude. "If we understood each other better there wouldnt be conflict" or some other friendship speech. Maou has an actual actionable plan for peace by addressing the causes of war. Starvation? Lets improve farm productivity with crop rotation. Xenophobia? Lets open up trade routes. Propaganda? Lets have our own propaganda campaign to spread our message. It is a show that recognized that war is a product of many factors, not just emotions. And all of those factors are equally important.

Saki is trying to be like Akagi with the long-running mahjong manga but goddamn I will recommend it every time. Horribly inconsistent manga releases with 15 pages per chapters and sometimes months between chapters, but if you like sports anime with over the top supernatural abilities then Saki is the anime/manga for you. Come ride the pain train with us.

I just recently read claymore manga and let me tell it was awesome. The art was great.
Actually it was the other guy who gets type casted as whiny characters who voiced Raki in Claymore. Todd Haberkorn.

claymore feels so inhumane, there are many non human theme in manga, but claymore deliver that feeling of inhumane very well. it's like crawling uneasiness.
This is a specific call out to my high school best friend who was a big another and erased fan and now listens to true crime podcasts while cooking

I mean it’s understandable, starting to read 1000+ chapters is a pretty daunting task. There are 3 hour movies I’ve been putting of for years.
Luckily I dove right into One Piece and never looked back.
