I highly recommend you watching the version with the story behind on the Gloria Wu channel first and then the one from his Bastau concert. It was the 8th performance of this competition. I don’t think there are copyright issues, because the videos on this channel are already edited and there are English subtitles. I think you will appreciate the Bastau version even more if you’ve seen The Singer version before. But if you know the background, the force with which the song hits you has a completely different dimension. This song tells a very sad but true story. You really have to watch this with subtitles. It’s really important to know what the song is about. So please react to The Singer version first🙏🙏🙏. In the Singer version he was so sick and had a severe sore throat and fever. He lost his voice the night before his performance of Daybreak. I heard him say in an interview that it was very painful throughout the song, that his throat feels like shredded glass but he didn’t want to disappoint the people who stand behind him and so he pulled himself together and went on stage. He got 5 injections from this doctor in the hospital. And the doctor told him not to sing high notes. You can see how concerned the other competitors were and they suffered with him.
