I used to do this years ago with SMAC software. At my former work we had an image file of the company computers with all the software installed. When somebody neede a computer we just dumbed the image to hard drive, but we had to change the MAC because the image contained the original one and they would of been a conflict in the company network.

Nope! After using "class" to find MAC, nothing highlights, instead I get: Name: ab (default), Type: REG_SZ, Data: (value not set). Is this bcuz I just reinstalled Windows on my laptop?

Thanks for the informative video. I had to override (spoof) the MAC address on a SonicWall to get a DHCP WAN IP. Not sure what the problem was. Probably an ISP issue.

I understand that you can also change the Mac using WPG818x (Windows PG8180/8185/8185B/8187/8187B Version 5.142.1218.2006 ).
I have a USB based Wifi card, that uses a Realtek 8187L (VID 0BDA / PID 8187), but it doesn't work on Windows10. I tried pointing it to a System32\Drivers\RTL8187 sys file (v6.1316.1209.2009 built by WinDDK) but no luck.
Alternatively, I know it works on Windows XP (via the exe : Install8187MP_139_Realtek), but is it possible to create an OracleBox Virtual-Machine and install/use from an XP VM? Or does the Win10 host machine *HAVE* to have a driver for it, in order for the guest machine to see it?

Hey so when I go into the registry editor it says an entry with the name "NetworkAddress" already exists. I tried editing that then disabling and reenabling my network card, but it still shows my old MAC address in the settings. Any ideas on what to do? I've tried pretty much every method by now and this is the closest I've gotten but it still won't work.

Brian,... You are making me wonder what i have been taught about the Mac address... It's my understanding that it is unique to every device and there are no two Mac addresses that are the same, because the Mac address is used to find a particular computer or device to deliver the information requested... So now I'm wondering how a person can create their own Mac address number and not have it be duplicated??? This explanation is really making me rethink what I have been taught, the education given to me was Not in depth... But, more of a quick explanation as to what I Mac address is and how it is used to get information directly to a specific computer or device. Maybe I need to look into this a little further because it's interesting to rethink this whole process.
