    Bangerman sounds like a good name for a Brit who likes sausages. Or someone who drives a clapped out car.

    I wonder if my stalker will make a comment about me indicating there's a usual 4 - 4 initial score which seems to be the norm on this show.

    Trying to figure out Ian's beef with Maxwell - ran a lot through the early days of HIGNFY!!

      @lfcizdabest  Před 2 lety +5

      Private Eye ran stories on Maxwell in the last few years of his life to which Maxwell issued and won multiple libel cases. Maxwell also created a parody magazine. Hislop's admitted to genuinely hating him.

      It was clearly in the script - "Diana's getting a new wardrobe" was the set-up - and suspect he wasn't really doing the MFI voice-over at the time.

    Paul is soooo interuptive, self-obsessive, limelighting, tedious, not to mention unfunny. I just don't get why the audience clap him so much.

      The audience clap him so much because they understand humour.

      @Karen DeGenerous
      Hmm, funniness is in the mind of the beholder. I don't t find him funny at all. Yes, he has a fast wit, but I don't like the personality or the shtick behind the wit. There's a smartypants smugness, a strong sense of ego that puts me off him as a humourist.

      To be fair, it does seem Merton gets annoyed if someone is getting more laughs than him and will try to become the centre of attention. He definitely can be funny, but his ego does tend to get in the way on occassions.
