  • Hey there! Today I will be testing a nail TikTok nail removal hack I’ve been seeing on TikTok to removal nail extensions without using acetone or an e-file. The nails I’m wearing are Saviland Polygel and I’ve had them on for a week. I used hot water, olive oil, and dish washing liquid. I soaked for exactly 10 minutes as others did on TikTok. Do you think it will work !?

I tried on acrylic set; hot water , dawn soap + olive oil and a curved sewing needle . Let them soak for like 5-10 minute, pushed them sides in then CAREFULLY lifted my nail from off the edges and voila!
They came off beautifully , right before my appointment 😬.

I have a lot of nail “art” videos. I do have a video of a press on kit. Well they’re called “soft gel” extensions because they’re stronger and last longer than traditional press on nails. But can be soaked off completely. Here’s a video for a kit that I really like if you want to watch that one day 😃😃

YALL THIS WORKS!!! I came across this video because it was time for me to soak off my Markartt polygel and I was DREADING using acetone/e-file because it literally rips apart my natural nail everytime. I’m trying to grow out my natural nail underneath the polygel. I used coconut oil instead of olive oil (roughly 2 tablespoons) because I have a ton of it with Dawn dishwashing soap in the exact same method that she describes. I soaked for 10 minutes and ZERO damage to my natural nails!!! This is like a damn miracle! Literally the safest fastest way to remove polygel nails EVER! they popped off exactly like hers in the video. Thanks SIS!!!!

I tried on my acrylics and it took off the couple that were already on the verge of falling off but the others that were stuck on good it took foreverrrr like hrs and that's that I cut my nails short and tried lifting the edges. I took a nail tool and picked and picked then soaked more and it took approximately 2hrs or more. I had to add pure acetone halfway through the process to speed things up and that's what helped. My nail tech does an awsome job where my nails never fall off but I had banged my extra long nails so many times that it made 2 of them loose. Maybe for other ppl it would work but my nails were stuck on super good.

Dab any type of kitchen cooking oil-olive, canola or sunflower-onto a paper towel. Then lay the paper towel over the residue that refuses to budge. Wait a few minutes while the oil works to dissolve the stubborn glue. Finally, remove the towel and rub away the sticker residue with another clean paper towel.
A degree of caution is necessary when using this cooking oil method. This is because many oils can stain absorbent materials like clothing. If you are concerned about leaving a stain, test a drop of your chosen oil on an inconspicuous part of the object. And proceed only if the oil leaves no trace to remove glue residue.

Tried it and it works. However, I'd only recommend it if you have very thick strong nails. Because if you're like me, with thin paper nails, soaking them also weakens your nails and they break off with your tips. So a definite no. Acetone then is a better option or just filing them down.

I have super thin nails and I use this clear polish called 1 Minute Artificial Nails. It works and when I'm not wearing nails, it keeps my nails hard.
If I could paint my nails a legit color, I know it would keep them strong. lol... I'm better at painting my fingers. 😂

So I just came across this video. I have had acrylic on my toes since June. This was my first time doing it and although it looks nice I would never get them done again. I been trying to remove them since forever (unable to get them removed. Nail tech is always booked months in advance and doesn't work weekends) Anyway I just tried this and so far it worked I was able to get ridof the acrylic on my big toe. Now time to try the other. Thanks so much for this video !!!!!

  • @sweetbromineandheliumjeff5021

I’m definitely going to try this with polygel and my KS gelly tips! I’ll probably soak them for a longer than you did; I have a connective tissue disorder and my nails get damaged easily. I find that acetone just makes it worse!

@@LuxeNailsWithTara I tried this Dawn, Olive oil, and hot water method right after I viewed your video tonight. This method (just as you showed us subscribers) ABSOLUTELY WORKS! I used 3 tablespoons each of olive oil and Dawn with approximately 1/2 cup hot tap water in an attempt to recreate something close to the measurements I guessed you originally used. Again, this absolutely WORKS!!! I desperately had to remove the gels as I heard about horror stories from regarding the salon I went to. I wanted the gels OFF ASAP due to sloppy nail salon practices in my area.
I was informed by a neighbor who underwent nearly a year of treatment with her dermatologist for nail fungus from the salon I had gone to just days before!
Thank you so much for posting. I was able to successfully remove the gels just in time to save my own nails. The nails fell off in a matter of 12 minutes- no pain, no filing, and NO fungus. Keep up the outstanding work!

Works on glue-on nails. I use Dawn, coconut oil and hot water (as hot as I can take without burning). Takes a long time, maybe a half hour. After that I use dental floss. The nails that don’t come off easily I soak again. It isn’t a quick process.

    • @LuxeNailsWithTara

Oh yea the efiles can be dangerous because you can accidentally go too deep into your natural nail bed. I like this way because the oil loosens the glue off your nail bed cleanly. If anything you can efile a thin layer off and then soak with acetone to be 100% safe. Good luck ☺️
