Awesome! Great tutorial! You could also put 2 red backed jokers in 2 random spots in the face up deck before you perform the effect, and when you start and spread the deck face up you “notice” the jokers and say “we don’t need these”. Up jog them, strip them out and casually turn them face down onto the table right next to the red card box so you see both backs of the jokers. Now the spectator sees the red box, the 2 red backed jokers, AND the deck with the 2 red backed cards on top. Matt Johnson has a color changing deck routine which I have and not only does the deck turn blue, he also takes the jokers he placed down on the table at the beginning of the effect and turns them blue, and finally takes the box and changes that to blue too!

I watched this through twice. You said the spectator could choose any card but I your performance, there is no explanation how to force the 10H. Or did I miss something?

This isn’t an interactive trick. When he says that “you might pick something like, say, the ten of hearts for example” that’s what you’re saying to the spectator too. The vibe of the trick is letting the spectator in on a “secret”, with this hypothetical trick

The spectator isn’t actually picking a card my guy. The magician is explaining to the spectator that in many tricks usually they pick a card like the 10 of hearts. It’s played off as a random choice, but the magician always chooses the specific opposite color card
