- Today's card magic tutorial - learn how to do the top shot, a visual card move where you shoot cards from the deck. This is my favorite card shot because if comes out face up from a face down deck. Few applications taught! Enjoy!

I watched this video 3 days ago and have been trying to do it for the past few days and last night before bed I finally got the card to shoot and I caught it and it was the best feeling! I got so hyped hahahaah thank you Alex! Much love :)
Man, I do not comment often, but this is absolute gold! There is so much in this video! The move is sick, but the fact that you explain not only how to do it, but also how to use it is so useful. And the bigger picture at the end is the icing on the cake. I started magic last year while in my late thirties, I feel I have so much to learn and wish I had started earlier, and all your videos are so helpful. I am so grateful for all the content you put out there, so an enormous thank you!
Feel that 100% im 35 and i started just a few months ago^^
I'm 19 and started in a more serious way now and i feel I'm too late lol. This comment gives me a lot of hope and i wish you the best of luck and don't worry lol everyone has to start somewhere
I'm 21 and just started better late then never
16 and just started, but even now I feel I little late because I had messed with it before when I was 12. XD
The only thing y’all late too is school fools
The top shot is like the most addictive move ever!! I love playing around with the variations and you teach it well Alex
Cool lesson and the advice from the end was indeed one of the best things to keep in mind. As you said in other videos these fancy moves are not for show off, but to stand up. Thanks, Alex!
I literally just started to practice top shot yesterday, this vid is so helpful!thank for the tips
You are a natural teacher who cares about the art.
This is what my quarantine life has come to
What you said at the end really hit home with me, as I have been practicing cardistry all day, and Wondering where I could honestly fit it in without making myself just look like just someone who can use a stacked deck
Very detailed with progressive steps. I’m impressed at your tutorial style. I’ll definitely be watching more. Thanks!
Oh my god, you did it! After a week and a half of trying and failing miserably at doing the top shot, this is the video that really made me understand so that I could see what I was doing wrong! I've now shot the whole decks worth for the first time, and it feels great!
Thank you! ^^
I've learned more moves, slights and routines on this video than all the videos I've seen in my whole life as a magician! Thanks for this Alex, I'ts a real cool vid!
thank you so much! took me just an hour to shoot the cards, but in order to catch face up or down in another hand that's whole other level!
By far lanark green's top shot is my favourite move of all time. Thanks for providing an in depth tutorial on it!!😀😀😀👍
yes blessed Lanark

This was absolutely amazing video, Half way through i was able to shoot the cards. Great job, and thank you very much
Wow, really excellent tutorial. Easy to understand explanation, right video length.. And nice building of each step. Can't wait to try this, and view your other videos. Thanks for making it!
My pinky pain and you are the cause.thanks for tutorial.
♣️♦️OMG I was looking a Tutorial on Tip shot only but not able to learn . Thx a lot I am Able to do it after all . ♠️♥️
He Alex a series would be good "learning with pandrea" like cardistry you will show us how you learn card tricks that would be lit!
I think thats a really good idea
Great idea🔥👌🏽
Up!
Oh like jay sankey gimmic
He isn’t really learning anything new though, he said that in his Q&A video
Great advice and I love the simple shot. Thank you Alex❤️
Simple Shot? Lol.
The first position you talk about with the thumb and index finger is key! Once I got that the rest was much easier! Thank you so much! I am going to search out your course and buy it right now. Thanks again -:)
I do this trick a lot after a couple fake shuffles when I'm performing at my school or when I have nothing better to do at my job. Thanks for the tutorial
Oh my. I am so inconsistent but when you get the flick right it's soo satisfying. Nice tutorial, thanks!
The one thing he’s not telling you is just how long this takes to master. No kidding. First you have to find just the right placement of the deck. It’s not exactly as he says. Second, it takes a while to get the hang of it. It takes much longer to be consistent enough to try it for specs. It takes even longer than that to catch it every time. BUT, it IS worth it. Once you see it shoot out of your own hands, like real magic, you’ll understand. Thanks for the tutorial.
This is the best explanation of how to do it I've seen! I Personally have really tiny hands so I struggle with my pinky so I've trained my ring finger to do it - still getting there but so much better than before I watched this video!
Awesome tutorial!
One thing that helped me as a very beginner: focus on the middle and ring finger while practising to pull down with the pinky...in my case these two fingers always wanted to be a part of the movement and really concentrating on them to stay away from the deck helped me
Maybe I was able to help some of you, maybe not :D
What amazes me more about sleight of hand is that the sheer things you can do with a pack of cards with your hands.
That concept coming from being a classical pianist. Artist and what not is that things you can do wit your hands is amazing.
Some would say...magical
Any skill is like that cardistry is just another niche
I'm so happy I found this channel!!!! OMG this guy is awesome, and I live tutorials that are actually good!
You’re awesome, thank you for the content!
Thank you so much for this video! 💗 I'm gonna practice!
Thankyou sooo much. I have been trying to lean to do a top shot for a long time--I was beginning to think it just wasn't in the cards for me (pun intended). That is because I watched the wrong videos. You, showing the proper first position, has changed everything. I can do it now. Not well, but I'm on my way. Again--thankyou.
You are the best, Buddy
Your videos are very productive
I personally love them a lot
Watching you is like the most productive thing I do during the panademic
👍👍👍
❤❤❤
Man, that's dope. Thanks for taking your time to teach us that move
I was looking at an old tutorial but I didn't know how to do the top shot. Then I saw this on my notifications!
It's nice to see you putting out videos again. Missed ya.

This is really good thanks Alex!
The final note is very insightful!
you are great Alex ... couldn't do this move ... watched a lot of videos with it ... nobody explained it well ... it was the gripppppp ... i was doing it same time when watching your video and wow ... the card was flying out ... omg ... i love how you explain man ... respect !!! ... P.S : always loving your intro ... never get bored of it ... and i watched all your videos in this pandemic ... showing the trick and then ... yo yo yo =))) love it ...
I was struggling with this move and now you upload this. Thank you so much Alex
"Heh, I said crotch..." made me lost focus and just drop all my card lmao
I all ready started on my pinky strength it is so good thanks
Oh man this is do informative alex! Love this one, I got it first try when I started card tricks about 2 months ago! I am dedicated and learnt like insane false cuts and mind blowing agt performed tricks! tho I just use this local 50 cent deck as other decks are expensive for my currency but it's still fun!
Whoa.. Got it in my first try! Thanks so much!

That’s what I’m waiting to learn, i can’t tell to make this video before, so just waiting!! Haha
Finally, it’s coming
Ive been doing this wrong the entire time!! LOL I've watch Lenard Green DVD some time ago and think i know how to to that without paying attention to the details(It was a VHS convert quality)
Thank you for making these tutorial, very easy to follow
The movement of the flicking hand is key to getting this right
merci pour vos excellents TUTOS ils sont parmi les meilleurs que j'ai pu voir. la qualité d vos explication est remarquable MERCI ENCORE et dans l'attente des suivantes...
I tried it the first time and I got it. Amazing!
One thing I found out whilst practicing this, which is briefly mentioned in the video but I didn't really catchup on it. The "throw" itself is coming from the release of pressure from your thumb, not the pinky, the pinky is only there to kind of pull it out. I was practicing it the wrong way at firs trying to push the card down really hard with the pinky, but there's actually not a lot of force required from the pinky itself.
love your content dude awesome stuff very entertaining
Great tutorial and great advice.
Still trying to get the shot but the movement and grip I think I gotten the hang of. Nice tutorial ❤
hey Alex you are a great teacher thanks for that advice
Man, that's sick, i just tried and it works. Thx
A very important thing is to press the pinky down hard! After paying attention to that part, the throwing part worked for me
It's been half an hour since this video came out, and my pinky won't move anymore xD great tutorial, honestly
I'm looking for the launch movement, thanks bro
Thank you! My top shot needed a lot of help. I love the drill, and the clear detailed instructions help a lot too.
Hi Man, I just discovered this video and it's only and simply "AWSOME"!! I just need to have time to do the moves (learn an learn for hours "or days").
Your tutorial is very "impressionant" (I'm French) I'm looking forward to see others videos from you , maybe less difficult; lol. I love card magic and this video is realy, realy one of my bests.
Hope my English is not so bad (never using goolgle) Thx a lot. Regards; Jean-Marc
Alex is goals!

Lit. Detailed Unique Style Variations
Oki. So at first I could not even get close to pull the card with my pinkie. I mean yea it’s not a typical move for sure. After ten minutes and when I stopped thinking too much it started to work. But my whole hand hurts. But it’s getting there. Thank you for such a detail tutorial.
i was trying this trick and i couldnt catch it but i finally caught it and dropped the whole deck because i was so happy
All the cards flew in the air!
😂😂😂
You make it look easy.
This is badass 😃 thanks!

You are the man, deserves more subscribers
This tip was great thks👍👍
This video alone is enough to subscribe. Good Teacher.
Great teaching, but your closing comments are priceless.
That was a nice ending. I'm nowhere near that level yet, but I was think of a trick where you show someone a certain conrtolled number and later on say that the following numbers are going add up to that number. Idk. I'm just now relearning from a novice level, but I could see it working.
People love top shot. I've gotten some amazing reactions, especially when it goes from the deck in my left to between two cards in my right.
Nice one again master 👌👌👌
Love your tricks and toutorials! Hve been your fan for a year and a half! I've been a magician for 4-5 years, and CZcams does not have much to offer after a while, do you have any tips to where I can learn new tricks?
