    Money and time, two things are required for USA. A lower middle class person can never ever afford USA. A person who earns himself as a medical student or whose father is a working class person, believe me USA is impossible. 30-40 lacs ka kharcha hai. And requires a time of 4-5 years. Plab is way faster and cheaper. Jitni dair mai Apki USA Mai matching honi or apne 3 lac dollar kamane shoro krne hai utnindair mai plab wala 1 lac se increase ho kr 3lac pr ajai ga. So Plab is way better

      You are right Haaza but for some extent.
      USMLE do need time and money but i have seen many students with working class background to do usmle and now they are doing residency is USA.

      After house job almost 1-1.5 year, to get your plab test clear and get a job in NHS. Some time it would take more time if you take more time to prepare.

      Most of the academies for preparation are in UK.
      Somewhere i heard that there were some academies who help you prepare MRCP 2 and PLAB 2.
      Uk Academies preparation is not mandatory but is recommended.

      Afnan get in touch with your seniors and try to get yourself in publications. It is better to have a name as a fifth then to have no publication. Also as you are waiting for your final year result this time try to make use of this time.

    I heard that for Bangladeshi/Indian Graduate most commonly internal Medicine and Psychiatry are offered for residency, and they also told me that it is very difficult to pursue residency in others speciality like surgery, Cardiology, Oncology...
    And another one thing they told me that "racism is a burning things in there, US citizens don’t kill you by gun but surely they kill you by litigation.. "
    Is this true?
    Or i should run after plab?

      I don’t think this is true. In Pakistan this year 10+ students are matched in surgery. A lot more students are marched in US from India in surgery. To address this residency issue and matching soon i will make a video in 1-2 week iA.

      If you want to do PLAB that is also a good option. Both Usmle and Plab has its pros and cons.

    Bhaiya, where are you doing your residency from? Also, I heard that the US system prefers their natives for competitive fields and since I want to go into surgery, should I try my best and focus on usmle or plab? I would be happy to go to any of the two countries but obviously, like you said, US is at the top so I am a little confused, please help

      No they don't allow surgery. U can persue internal medicine, peads, psychiatry in US

      For doing residency in surgery or any competitive field you should either have an outstanding cv or you have to do clinical research program for 1-2 year. Residents do get matched in surgery fields but they are a bit rare.

      Ahmad You can try to find out what is causing them to do that. Also more rejections you had chances to get into USA get slim.

      Sumaira Khan i think there will be some relaxation for Plab if you have done MD from European Union but to enter into residency in US you have to clear USMLE. Even their own students have to do usmle in order to get residency there in US.

      It composed of 2 year foundation year and core training path 1-3 years and then speciality training program so it can take 5-9 years depending upon your desired field.

      Yes shah sahib you should have around 30k pounds per year salary in foundation year.

      i think to get the house job certificate as there is a requirement in PLAB that the candidates should complete a minimum of 12 months of postMBBS clinical experience at a teaching hospital.

      No you don’t have to clear nle , you can do 1 year housejob on provisional certificate if you are a fmg and haven’t taken nle exam
      after one year or housejob you have to clear nle but that’s only for Pakistan you

    Aur agar for example agar koye cardiologist bana chahta ha tu ban sakte ha ....? Uk mei.....

      Saad i think ap kr skty hen. Also when you will do plab you can choose later in any field you want. One of my friend recently got inducted in gastroenterology in ST3. So you can get into cardio.

      If someone score average in his 10th and 12th and get a medical degree from a recognized university so those person can also give plab exam..i mean those Person are also similar just like another who score well in 10th and 12th and get a medical degree and give plab exam ... is there any difference in his dignity or not...?

      Yeah Saad I totally understand your question.
      When you get a medical degree and you get a pmdc you are equivalent, there are sometimes some harsh comments for someone who has a superiority complex. Otherwise your marks am does not matter especially of 10 th or 12th.
      If you do plab/usmle and start training in uk or USA then there is absolutely no discussion of your marks either higher or lower.

      You have to check if your school is in the World Directory of Medical Schools, You have to pass the USMLE exam, You don't have to get Nepal medical council license as we don't need Pakistan medical license for the exam. You need one licensing exam and that is USMLE for the US.

    Can I take them to USA after matching for residency as they are dependent on me?
    Which country allows easy immigration for spouse and mother?
    I have heard that you can't take mother to USA without citizenship, how much time it takes to get citizenship after starting residency?

      Think depending upon visa type. Usually, take 5-10 years for green-card application. But I think You can take your wife with you as she is dependent on you, don't know about your mother but once you are settled there after your residency or fellowship, you can take them. * difficult topic* you have to dig deep on this.

      @@sikandarprince4856 For language test you can clear it now but IELTS result is valid for two years starting from the date of your exam. So in first it is too early to give language exam.

      Ahmad There is no benefit as such getting medical coruses from coursea, It is better that you get online courses from recognized medical institute like WHO, or your like online courses of well recognized hospitals like Mayo and Harvard.

      Hello, u can search USMLE sarthi. They have a research program, they teach u how research is done and let u do one research too. Check usmle sarthi videos (for usmle speocofically)

      Higher institute like agha khan and al shifa prefer MD. Also in rank they are like have the same status as of a consultant.

      I think when you are done with residency there is different paths to bring your parents, they can come along, but in residency initially it is difficult.

      @@sumairakhan3004 I don’t know much about Czech Rebulic. If your are going for Plab I think it would be beneficial but for Pakistan I think you can go for Pakistan. Also I think you should consider housing and cost of both.

      @@sumairakhan3004 if you are not want to stay in Pakistan then I don’t think there is enough reason for you to do MBBS from here. You need foundation years for plab so your 1 year of house job can be considered 1 year or foundation year but there is no need for house job for usmle.

      I think you can directly go from china afer completing internship from china. But you have to recheck this with your seniors who are done with the internship or doing internship.

      For Plab the prepration starts in final year MBBS but you can only give exam after your graduation. You have to have primary medical qualification. Just focus on your basics for now and build a solid foundation.

      Yes for foundation year NHS do pay in UK. In Us there is no foundation year.

      It depends upon whether you want to achieve excellence. There are more options to achieve excellence in US as compared to native country. They have some of the best minds who are teaching you and especially recent advances. Also you can always return back and practice, but you will be having more advantage then your peers.

      @@PranayBrajabashi Yes there will be problems. But again the question remains the same how far you want to go with the excellence. Yes i do heard of that problem with loneliness.
      You can also become a great doctor without doing usmle. It is not a necessity but only an additional thing if you want to pursue it.

      if you really want to do mbbs abroad then make your mind to go straight for usmle.
      But If you want to come back after mbbs to Pakistan there are multiple test which you have to pass. Also the policy regarding foreign students is susceptible to a rapid change . We don't know what policy we will face for the foreign students. Also you should note that either university which you are applying is recognized by PMC or not.

      GMC has a list of recognized medical qualifications from various countries, including Kazakhstan. So, if your MBBS degree from Kazakhstan is recognized by the GMC, then you are eligible to take the PLAB.
