    He asks for things and gets them. So you owe him birds.

    Need to practice your own buttons 😊 like say birds tomorrow or birds later. Eat later. Offer something else inside of No! I have one that has a gutteral howling if he doesn't get to go for a walk. But I have a screened security door on front door so either sitting by the door, or he'll sit on my desk and watch and listen to bird bath videos. Calms him right down.

      @@tanyaredfield I love it. I wouldn’t change it for anything. It’s good that they have a way to communicate. I also have pets. Play. Puffy. It’s a good way so they can tell you what they want.

      The other day I saw a cat use her buttons to let her owners know that she was ready to go. That did it for me.
      Pets usually let you know when their time has come, but we had one little girl who we just were never sure.
      She became ill around the time she was 11-12 and they didn't think she would make it without a major surgery, that she was unlikely to survive, and treatement for the rest of her life with medicines which had some major possible side effects. It was hard because we loved her and she was still so young, but we opted to do symptom care and palliative treatment and see what occurred. We were determined to help her live her best life and keep her as much out of pain as possible until she let us know she was ready to go.
      That crazy little girl hung on for another 6 years, but her personality had changed so she was more removed. She seemed content, but we couldn't imagine she was since she had always been a cat who was right in middle of everything before. She had some bad days where we were sure she was getting ready to say goodbye, but it would be followed by a week of good days where, other than keeping to herself more than she used to, she seemed just fine. She showed no signs of distress beyond not getting around as well and, at some point, deciding to no longer use the litter box (part of her illness made it very difficult for her to lift her legs high, but even with a lower sided entrance she decided she would prefer to use a training pad in the corner than use a litter box) . We wanted to do the right thing for her and imagined she was probably not happy, but all the usual signs (clear showing of pain, not eating, avoiding pets or other cats, etc....) never came.
      Eventually, she just came up to us for a final cuddle then went to her favorite bed and passed away.
      I've never gotten over the guilt of if we made her live too long. Although she had pain meds, we had no way to know what she really felt, and if she hid the pain or really had full relief.
      I've been playing with the idea of getting our cats buttons for a couple years, but when I saw that video I was sold. If we had given her the ability to let us know how she was feeling-if she needed more pain relief, more comfort, if she was ready to go- I don't think we would have constantly felt the distress over not knowing if we were doing what she would want.

      They actually, to some degree, understand. It's called Pavlov's condition. You teach the animal to associate a certain action with a certain sound. And so when the action happens they associate it with that sound/button. And vice versa.

    • @Back2Basics_PlusAI
      @Back2Basics_PlusAI Před měsícem +1

      Which is why at night, when he's inside with the light on, he thinks there are birds outside. It's a cat, they don't know what the buttons mean.
      Pavlov conditioning has to do with mapping animal instincts to stimulus. There's too many buttons to match onto too many stimuli for that to work here.
      If you think I'm wrong, direct me to an article that demonstrates that, not funny cat videos.

    • @plainmarienc
      @plainmarienc Před měsícem +6

      Most likely, he does see bats outside at night, but he does not have a bat button, so he generalizes "bird" to mean "small flying animal that I I want to chase." That makes sense. 😂 @Back2Basics_PlusAI

      @@ruangreyling2073 to another degree, it’s still A CAT. Do they understand things? Absolutely… do they want to interact and show you they know? Nope, it’s a cat. Cat. Cat. Cat. They don’t give a shite=CAT

    Language is a *curse*... a _spell_
    It robs them of their freedom from all of the opinionated, judgemental, parasitc mindchatter, and separates them from the present now moment, the only thing that ever actually exists. Eventually they'll be living in the matrix/mind with us, always in their heads in the past or future, opinionating and ruminating over this or that, entangled/ensared to memories/observations and their corresponding emotions and feelings. They'll end up emotion triggered reactionary slaves to ego once it takes over cause it's brained entrained to everything "outthere" it can't even see... The walking dead, just like us...
    It's cruel. We're cruel.
