Rex, but i think forcing your child to distract an opponent while you kill it is a little cheap), and it could jump with the giant toe hooks attributed to Velociraptor Deinonychus, which earns it a very powerful and dangerous spot IMO

Okay, but this list DOES need a slight update. New datamining has concluded that the Spinosaurus strategy was actually quite different, and was much more heavily aquatic than earlier deep dives revealed. In that case, that means that the Spinosaurus build should be higher tier- if it was specifically adapted to an aquatic playstyle and stayed within aquatic zones, it would have been much more viable.

Given all the new information that came out after its release that would drastically change the tier, but as well as addressing some of the things that were already inaccurate when this video was made. doubt B tier does T.rex justice
to start off they had absurdly a overpowered sense of smell, sight and hearing perhaps one of the greatest in game. They were also quite intelligent and had an enlarged cerebrum giving them advanced cognitive abilities. Their eyesight was 6 times better than hawks and could see up to 6 miles.
Their arms were not entirely useless as their small size served a purpose. it reduced excess weight while allowing for a large and heavy head without sacrificing agility needed to hunt its prey. they had powerful jaws which could kill many low or even mid-level dinos in a single hit. Their speed was slightly more than that of an average human but in exchange they were endurance runners capable of chasing prey over large distances with ease. They were also built like tanks with thick muscles and were more than capable of surviving bites from other rexes during territorial skirmishes. the main reason for a higher spot is that they were some of the few animals to create a carnivore gap as trexes served every other niche available during different stages in their life. the only other carnivores were small dromeosaurs which were 1/20th their size

Even if a predator like T-Rex would evade a few tailswings and kicks, one bite could not possibly one hit such a sturdy build like a grown Sauropod, whereas a single Sauropod stomp will knock out the comparatively small and light T-Rex.

      @Rubywing4 Před rokem +3

@@poser.3389 I'm not saying the dragon class has to come with fire breathing, it would be cool, but I would be happy enough with just a big reptile that can fly with its wings, even if it's like a wyvern that has wings for arms instead of a classic dragon with 4 legs and 2 wings, coz wyverns would be more realistically able to fly than classic dragons.
Though if a dragon build would ever be modded into the game, it would make more sense if it was a small wyvern, probably with hollow bones like birds (and bats? do bats have hollow bones too?), and big wings, probably about the size of an eagle or something, maybe even smaller.
A possible way to add the firebreath ability could be to copypaste the bombardier beetle's Stink Cloud ability but insert the stink glands into the mouth of the wyvern instead of the rear, so it can spray a blue acid stinky cloud from its mouth similar to how a spitting cobra sprays venom from its fangs.
Of course, this would probably result in the Bad Breath debuff, but perhaps the insides of the dragon's mouth could have a slime coating of sorts that protects it from damage by its own attack.
One possibility is also to copypaste birds' inability to taste capsaicin, which allows them to eat spicy foods without problem, and that could be a component in the dragon's breath ability, while it would be unable to taste the spiciness itself and thus not be bothered by its own spicy, stinky, acidic breath.
And since they would be small, there would definitely be predators trying to grief them, and that's what the breath ability is for: self defense.
I imagine they would mostly feed on fish and small mammals and birds, and fight raptors and medium-sized builds like foxes, cats and wolves over territory, the biggest prey they would be able to take down might be hares, or deer if they are social builds that live in flights (obviously a group of dragons would be called a flight).
Dragons would be so interesting to mod into the game, to both feel like dragons and at the same time not completely ruin the meta, by making realistic traits that could work.

    updated dino tier list
    F tier -
D tier - camptosaurs and dryosaurs
C tier - coelophysis: they were one of the first dinosaurs introduced to the game. They were small slender bipedal carnivores. They earn this spot for their survivability being able to outcompete synapsids bringing the dinosaurs to their glory.
Stegosaurus: stegosaurs mostly focused on high defense and offense and thus had to sacrifice their other stats namely intelligence and mobility. Its back plates reduced the chance ofa crit from attackers and could be flushed with blood to raise their intimidation. Their tale spikes which were given the name thagomizer from the community had one of the highest crit chances in game. Though they were relatively safe in a one on one they still lost when being mobbed by mid tier carnivores.
B tier - spinosaurus: It is a specialist which invested in aquatic features allowing them to rule the rivers of their time. It was the longest theropod and had many unique abilities such as paddle tail, electroreception and sharp conical teeth to aid in capturing fish. This creature also cohabited with carcharadontosaurus and since they hunted different prey, mostly just lived alongside them.
Hadrosaurs : These builds are often overlooked for their simplistic playstyles, however they were quite an effective build. You see hadrosaurs such as parasauralophus and lambeosaurs were large enough that they did not have to worry about attacks from smaller predators, only being threatened by mid tier carnivores. Even then they could simply rely on their mobility to escape. Some builds such as edmontosaurus grew as large as Trex making them difficult to take on.
Triceratops: These were the premiere tank builds of the late cretaceous, sporting both high attack and defense along with decent mobility. Their only predators were giant carnivores builds such as Trex. Their main drawback came from low intelligence. While juveniles moved around in small groups adults were mostly solitary
Dromeosaurs: These group of theropods opted to forego gigantism and opted for a build centered around mobility and damage. most notably they had one sickle claw on each foot allowing them to perform a special move known as raptor prey restraint allowing them to gain exp without actually defeating the oponent. While larger builds such as the utahraptor were dominant, they could not take on the more larger builds in the meta.
A tier - Allosaurus: These were the top predators of the jurassic sporting high damage and mobility. They were quite fast in short bursts of speed making ambushing other players an easy feat. they had relatively low bite force compared to other high tiers but they made up for it with their powerful necks enabling them to rip out chunks from other players. Often times allo players would come together in loose gangs to take down high level prey items such as an already wounded sauropod player.
Therizinosaurus: These players from the theropod faction opted to spend all their evolution points on the claw skill tree providing them the largest claws in the game. Unlike every other theropod they opted to become herbivores. This made it so that they did not have to compete with other predators for food and were extremely good at defending themselves. Though vulnerable to attacks from multiple sides they made a succesful build that no one expected
Carcharadontosaurus: These theropods opted for powerful grasping claws and serrated teeth. Their plan of attack was to bleed out their prey. This was aided by their sharp teeth which were designed like blades designed to slice apart flesh.
Ankylosaur: These tanks builds essentially took all the stats of stegosasurs and cranked them to extremes. Their armor could stop all manner of attacks and their tail clubs could shatter bone. Though not a perfect defense as they were still vulnerable if flipped, ankylosaurs were a strong build, definitely above average.
S tier - T.rex: These apex predators towered over their competition during the cretaceous meta dominating the north american server. It had the most devastating bite attack in the whole game able to one shot most mid and even some high tier's. They had small arms which were useless in combat but aided in making Trex more agile as it could turn faster than other theropods its size. While not the fastest dinosaur, being only slightly faster than a human they make up for it with their amazing endurance, allowing them to chase prey over long distances. T.rex was so dominant that during its reign there were no other predators even close to its size in its region. The next largest predators being dakotaraptors which were a fifteenth of its size. They were also one of the smartest dinosaurs which was rewarded with them possessing broken hearing, smell and one of if not the best sense of sight in terrestrial servers. They also had high defense as their robust build made them excellent at PVP which they needed during territorial fights. All this makes it a true S tier
Sauropods: The true titans of the Mesozoic, these behemoths were the largest dinosaur builds of all time and by extension the largest terrestrial build of all time. They had the maximum HP for a terrestrial build and were untouchable when moving in herds. These builds size gave them an advantage against stealth builds and possessed the most devastating move in game, their stomp attack which could one shot any other build of its time. They did have low mobility and the food required to sustain them always had them on the move. While not invincible as they could still get taken down, they were mostly untouched by many predator builds. Their early game was difficult as sauropods tended to lay hundreds of eggs and not care for low level players but once they reached high levels they were virtually untouchable making them S tier

The short answer is that we have no idea how they actually acted. They had long claws on their legs? They must have used them to jump on their prey. In reality it might well be they were some kind of herbivore that cracked nuts or something. Hell, many dinosaurs of the same species were mistaken for different species just because they died at different stages of life. How smart they were is measured by comparing their brain size to their body size, but it's not foolproof. It doesn't take into account how those brains were structured or how dense they were, but it gives a rough estimation.

The problem with the rex is that he's a "mini-maxing" strategy : everything was put into a single attack move (the bite attack), leaving everything else aside. It proved effective as it gave him the most powerful bite ever seen, and unlocked "bone-crushing", but some evolution points could've been better spent.
Besides, he had a terrible matchup against a lot of builds in his Era : with hadrosaurs vanishing from the Meta during Cretacious the T-rex only had tank builds left to prey upon, like Triceratops, Ankylosaurus, etc... Or small speedy builds, like Pachycephalosaurus, and he wasn't optimised to take down any of them easily : too slow to catch the small prey (and they wouldn't give him much XP anyway), but no reliable way of taking down tanks easily.
A T-rex had as many chances of killing it's prey as he had to die trying to do so 1v1, and for a predator it can be problematic

    • @RoulicisThe
      @RoulicisThe Před 4 lety +8

@Dieter Gaudlitz The thing is : T-rex favorite meal, Edmontosaurus, disappeared long before the end of the cretaceous (or at least we haven't discovered fossils more recent than 70 million years ago). Which means that at one point : the T-rex lost access to his favorite meals.
As for "Why do I assume T-rex would've attacked them alone?". For the same reason that you assume that they always attacked in pack : fossil records. There are many evidences of T-rex sustaining injuries delivered by triceratops's horns (as well as ankylosaurus of course). Injuries that, in some cases, were lethal to the animal. If they ALWAYS attacked in pack, these type of injuries wouldn't be observed, as there would be no reason for a rex to attack the triceratops head-on and exposing himself to the horns.
So, same as triceratops were mainly solitary but sometimes could form small herds, I believe T-rex was mainly solitary but could also form packs, especially in the end of their reign where prey were much harder to take down.
So there were probably more cases of T-rex trying to hunt triceratops alone than doing so in packs, especially knowing, as you said, that their social structure was very basic

Their weapons were as said in the video, a thick hide which I think is underestimated here, their front and back leg kicks being quite powerful due to the help of their mass, and their large tails which were very sturdy and could shatter a tyrannosaurus' ribs. Another example is the once thought fodder Parasaurolophus, which shared grounds with Daspletosaurus, Tyrannosaurus' closest known ancestor was around 8 tons and a very capable build too.
If anything, I'd move the hadrosaurs up to B or A tier because of being able to survive and adapt so long with predators such as Tyrannosaurus.

The Tree of Heaven, able to regenerate its entire self unless all traces of it are removed, including after being cut down. The Birdcatcher Tree, able to trap new avian players and kill them, getting free exp from their decomposition. The Tumbleweed, which carries its own seeds in its dead corpse. The numerous amount of carnivorous plants (Venus Flytrap, Tropical Pitcher, Cape Sundew, Hydnora, Bladderwort) which are able to kill smaller insect builds (some of the larger ones even being able to kill small mammals and birds). The Strangler Fig, who seeks out trees and slowly sucks at their hp until the tree dies. The African Acasia, which is able to communicate with other African Acasia to make their leaves poisonous, and also can have a symbiotic relationship with an army of ants who will attack anyone who comes near. The Touch-Me-Not, with an ability similar to that of the turtle, snail, or armadillo builds. Just to name a few. As well as one of the most OP abilities in the game, able to get free xp during the day period with no need to hunt or graze, as well as absorb more xp from the ground. It is a damn shame that plants are so underrated, mostly by players who would rather play a fast and action packed game. Plants require more strategy, are harder to get into, and are more about spawning new plants than about survival, so the community pretty much ignores them, seeing them as free loot if at all. Same with fungi, but for some reason the animal players seem to find those at least somewhat more interesting.

All species that exist at any given time are the most optimized build for their environmental niche given the constraints of the niche.
So if one species evolves into another species, neither one is more “advanced” than the other.
It makes just as much sense to compare a cheetah to a frog as it does to compare the trex to the allosaurus.
This is where we get into the philosophy of what is a species.
