The highs are present, but smooth... Unlike most cheap mics... And the mid-range is really a strength of the V5.... It isn't insanely bright and you could probably EQ it easily enough to make it a really good mic for your voice. You probably wouldn't even touch the actual highs and just do a really broad Q dip in the high mids of 2-3 DBs... And a De-essor. Just try these things as a rough starting point... Adjust to ear. BYou generally end up adding air to a vocal.... Even hip hop... I don't think you need to dip anything above 7-8K. A broad dip curve right around 3.5K, or one smaller dip and 2.5K and a second one at 5k... Just a couple DB or so. Add a little saturation around the 500-1k area...somewhere down there... For a little more bottom without making it muddy
Your V5 does seem to be a lot brighter than mine (and Mark Yoshumento Nemcoff's video). I did a short review earlier without any processing - may be it is just my voice which is heavier but I think your mic has much more top end emphasis which I don't think it should have to that degree. A compressor should not change the overall frequency of the recording - only the relative volumes - but I would test this by doing a clean recording direct to your recorder / camera / computer without any other processors, physical or software processors in the audio chain. Also do the same with a different mic and then add the compressor to see if it changes the sound of that mic. Also try it with a different XLR cable if you have one just to be sure.
Yeah I'll do a video straight to interface. I have it running through the Art StudioV3 Tube MP. Also using a stagg cable and cable that came with it.nlol. will change them out asap
Both mics just sound so great! Bought both myself and am just waiting for them to be delivered. Thanks for the review.

May be it is your signal processing - it is better to compare mics without any processing at all.
I wonder if it's my compressor
