This channel is so helpfully informative for understanding these elective procedures (I originally started watching due to my interest in possible future hair transplant), but its also has a pretty cool mix of including videos like these that are quite interesting; I feel like w/ the combination of the two many, MANY more people would be watching/subscribed if they were aware of its existence. I’ll certainly be turning people into it when appropriate; just think you deserve a lot more viewers considering the volume of YT watchers who certainly would really wanna know about what you’re doin here. I’m watching a lot of your videos but I’m trying to get a clear answer about how to tighten cheek skin. I watch another Doctor Who says there’s nothing you can do except a full on facelift, do you agree? How much are your consultations? (I’m in California so I wouldn’t be getting procedures from you but I have been liking your comments on face work)
I also hope you can bring in a psychiatrist in because having a husband who wants a cat wife, besides insecurity but who taught that insecurity right. Having a relationship made up of make believe/lies, you have to already be a person of poor boundaries. At the same time, you’re not a therapist and a psychiatrist only deals with the stabilization of a patient that then has to turn to a psychologist to do all the heavy lifting work. I wish the audience is able to understand the ramifications and in this case the extremes of “overthinking”, but reality is getting the patient to reflect why are they lying to themselves.
Again, I’m all for cosmetic procedures to those with a in-tact self esteem. Ya like DR. TERRY DUBROW- sure he got work done but man he knows his identity and not afraid of it!

In my honest opinion, if the body modifications and plastic surgery are potentially causing dangerous problems and it becomes obvious that the person has mental health issues and a surgeon that continues to butcher around on such an individual should lose their license.

@@serwinzzalot9989 In more than a few episodes of Botched it seems as it's in some cases seen as the goal is not neccesary beautiful and natural looking. They don't bother they're looking like a charichature, in some circles it appears as it's like some sort of status to have obvious work done. Idk if it's a thing of having visibly surgery done (not just adjusting wrinkles and skinsagging that may have them look grumpy or similar) have for the sake of showing the can afford it. And some of them can't but goes overseas at pay for two and get three.
On the opposite is like swedish princess Birgitta, born 1937 and was known as the sporty princess playing tennis, sailing and golfing in the 60s and 70s when it was in with a deep tan. If she has done something it's nothing visible. So in that high upperclass the status seem to be to not have procedures.
As Dr Gary points out the providers are probably perhaps not operating in ill and malicious intent but surely plenty are perhaps overestimating on their knowledge and skills on what products are suitable where, not only providers that have no formal training or education but one woman got a couple of failed procedures of breast enlargement by her dentist.
@@serwinzzalot9989 no sometimes mental health really controls a person, especially in cases like these where it’s quite obvious to everyone they’re ruining their face or body to fill some empty void. It’s evil for doctors to capitalize off of people who really need serious help.

My mother is a breast cancer survivor and I went to every chemo and dr appointment with her. After her breast reconstruction I remember that they didn’t look as her normal, larger breast size and she brought her concerns up to the top reconstruction doctor in Knoxville TN. He trained at UT and even worked at at Vanderbilt so his credentials checked out. I remember him agreeing and saying he could fix them. Well, he didn’t tell us that he was OVERFILLING the implant limit by 1,800 cc and one ended up busting. Here we are, ten years later, being told she is in too poor health to even get the painful torn implant removed and this physician that works alongside him told her he did something very wrong and apologized. Thank god I took notes every appointment and journaled the entire journey. If we had known he was overfilling the implant she wouldn’t have done it. He only said he could add more. It’s so aggravating because she’s disfigured and in pain from it but can’t get it fixed due to tissue death from her cancer treatments. What I’m trying to say is I know doctors are capable of leaving info out. I believe the doctor should be responsible for letting the patient know exactly what they are doing and the exact risks. I prefer when a doctor speaks to me as the decision maker not just a “lay person”.
All surgeries have risks. Sorry it wasn’t a successful surgery but the truth is these surgeries are not guaranteed to come out right every time. I think everyone assumes every surgery is supposed to come out perfect and don’t realize those risk factors you have to read and sign on the contract are there for a reason!!!
@@three7446 it wasn’t the initial surgery though, it wasn’t the surgery that was the problem he said he could add more cc, and left out he was overfilling the limit of the implant. I read the risk contract btw it was normal insurance stuff and never mentioned overfilling an implant bc the other physician I mentioned who worked alongside him said she had grounds for suing due to that detail
@@three7446 What an incredibly ignorant comment! The initial procedure didn't seem to be the issue, the subsequent 'fixes/alterations' were. The doctor made very bad choices when he decided to overfill the implants and stating he could add more volume WITHOUT EXPLAINING THE ADDITIONAL RISKS. That's straight up negligent.
I am so sorry that happened to your mother that man condemned your mother to a life of pain he shall be put in prison for the rest of his life there is nothing on earth that can use your mother's pain except us Christ I pray she will run into the arms of Jesus I pray she gets better
I am a breast cancer surviver and had a bilateral mastectomy with no reconstruction. I went flat and have no regrets. I wasn't sure what I wanted until I visited the plastic surgeon and he was very honest with me about the results. I will never forget that man for his candor in telling me he could not make a lumpectomy look good because of where my cancer was.

Genuinely curious, what do you mean by "nice way"? If it's relating to costs/insurance, then yeah that's a struggle compared to cosmetic surgery, in a way. There are also probably more complex things to consider in people who are ill and need surgery for their ailment vs someone who is healthy and wants plastic surgery. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding lol

Loved that Cassandra talked of lens distortion. I know I have always looked better in person. My face is flat with a slight jutting of my lower jaw. As I aged my jaw helped. Yet, I have a friend who was gorgeous in pictures and upon meeting her many a date, shall we say, were underwhelmed. I was told I should have been a model. Being an artist and understanding lens distortion I knew I was not photogenic. Ppl would tell me, that's ridiculous. But it is a fact. It is why very pretty women don't make it, that the lens is not their friend. Why some photographers, with lighting and angles, know how to get the best picture. Obviously, I detest "Photo Time" at events.
I get that, I’m extremely UNphotogenic, yet I’ve been told my entire life that I look like Paula Abdul, you wouldn’t think so if you saw a photo of me. I’m extremely camera shy, I always have been, I really never knew what it was called in my early 20s but became very aware of it when I got married to my very handsome and photogenic husband. He always tells me don’t be nervous when getting your photo taken, just act natural, but when I do, I somehow still look very weird, and I know it’s not just me thinking it, my husband knows about my insecurity, and he knows I don’t look like my natural self in photos. He’s never mean or critical about it towards me, he just completely understands when I don’t want to be photographed, and even helps me out of awkward situations when people are trying to force me to be in photos.
Same. I'm so unphotogenic it is painful. EVERYONE says I'm "so much prettier in person". I only look okay in photos when I don't smile or I don't realize the picture is being taken. Its a shit show and really. Essentially, with my confidence being a teen in the early 00s.

@wioi yup, it sucks since smartphones were invented. Now that I'm a mother, I suffer thru it because i want pictures with my family. Even my husband understands as he can "never get a good picture of me" lol. He's always like, "I swear you look so different in photos. Why is that?" Haha. I'm like, "well A.) I get anxiety and B.) my face isn't photogenic." I'm 35 now so idgaf when my daughter wants pics, but idk thr last time I took a photo of just me.
RE Michael Jackson : His make-up artist , Karen Faye, said " I would use a darker foundation to cover the light patches, as time went on and the vitiligo progressed, I'd use a lighter foundation to cover the darker patches"
MJ was also on video saying he looked like a spotted cow. The psycological impact he must have felt was probably devastating . He was also reported as saying " I look in the mirror and I know Im black, Im proud to be black" . IMO the lightning of the skin with creams was probably due to having to look his best with being in the public eye so much, being scrutinized in every way.
These days we have models with vitiligo. I wish he’d kept his nose and skin natural. People would have just paid attention to his music.

@@2okaycola Except he wasn't ugly. He was actually quite good-looking during his early days. And the entire family was so sweet. Tito was the coach of a Little League team. My son and his son were co-pitchers. 'Uncle Mike' would come see their games often and we were even invited to the family compound in Encino so both kids could practice with the pitching coach from Pepperdine College who was a family friend. Janet Jackson would stop by and the entire family was very gracious even though I was way below their pay grade. Lol

Did you see that "shower scene" clip from her channel at the very beginning? Where the eye suddenly blinks open, only it's way too big and bright? It must have been badly photoshopped into the video, but looks really bizarre.
I can't actually understand what she's saying - she talks so fast that my brain just switches off. I watch these videos when I have a break from studying, so this didn't feel like a break. had to fast fwd her parts.

Tbh, I'm a little nervous about you collaborating with influencers only because so many of them have been fuelling anxieties around having "perfect skin" or "glass skin" or "no pores" and have encouraged mass consumerism masqueraded as 'Dos' and 'Don'ts' all while receiving commissions they haven't disclosed to their viewers. You're a well-known cosmetic surgeon with a successful practice and a family, so you might not be too familiar with the drama that goes on in the online skincare community, but so many influencers will shill anything and have been extremely dishonest in the past (Hyram and Susan Yara come to mind) and will jump at the opportunity to collab with an actual board-certified plastic surgeon to somehow 'prove' they have credible opinions. Please don't give them the clout they literally haven't earned.
You seem like a very kind and honest person, Dr. Linkov, but a lot of these influencers are not and ironically fuel so much of the dysmorphia that encourages so many to pursue extreme plastic surgeries. Long story short: just be careful with collaborating with influencers. Personally, I come to this channel to get qualified and experienced opinions and commentary from a board-certified physician, if I wanted the ramblings of someone unqualified, I'd be subscribed to Cassandra's channel (I'm not, btw). Your collaborations with Lorry Hill have been great because she has actually gone through procedures and has done the extensive research on the subject, so her opinions are informed and 'insider.' If you're interested in doing further collaborations, it would be cool to have you in conversation with your professional colleagues (plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, dermatologists, nurses, etc).
This channel is great because the content is elevated. Please keep it that way. You may not realize it, but your channel, in addition to being informative, is a _resource_ to any viewer(s) considering plastic surgery.

What you said about the chin surgery is completely correct ! For years I thought that my nose was too big but I saw a plastic surgeon and he pointed out that it was actually very straight and well proportionned, but that I had a weak chin and forehead and that's what disturbed the balance of my profile, so he recommanded profiloplasty.
Did you end up getting surgery?

I have melasma, acne scars, sagging skin and I still don't consider having invasive procedures. I struggled with face dismorphia for years, now it's under control. I had a septoplasty and nose job, but I stopped there. Never wanted anything else done for fear of looking worse. I don't regret these decisions.
Ironically, toward the end of this episode, while speaking of removing migrated or nodule-forming silicone from patient lips, an advertisement appeared for a (bathroom fixture, etc) caulking removal and smoothing tool. (It looks, by the way, well-designed and useful; for use on …..tile surface and such.)
We have come quite a distance from “plastic surgery” in the early 1960’s.

I read in a French publication that they used to do their own DIY face fillers at home. And publicly say they had acromegaly.
These two always thought they knew more than anyone else. That’s why they didn’t get vaccinated for Covid; they thought their diet and exercise regimen was so perfect their immune system would be covid-proof. Covid got the last laugh, now they’re both dead. By the time they decided to get medical treatment it was too late. Died within a couple of days of each other.

An example of a “good” use of a facial implant might be Carol Burnett. She had a receding chin, and her decision to have a chin implant (in the 1970s, I think) normalized her profile without radically transforming her appearance. (It also seems to have aged well, or perhaps she has had it tweaked over the years.)
She had an overbite and with most corrective jaw surgeries her jaw was moved forward and her chin was likely moved backward slightly to create an overall better appearance this is the procedure that I had done several years ago and it made a huge difference in my appearance
I’d love to see you do a video on Pete Burns plastic surgery. It’s like Jeffree Star’s but a thousand times worse, that was definitely botched it nearly killed him, I think he sued for £500k and spent 18 months having reconstructive surgery.
Love Pete Burns. It's so sad what he went through, especially with his lip surgeries and the aftermath of those
@@emmagatewood3898 I love Pete too, yeah it’s quite sad, most surgeons wanted to amputate his lips 😱. I think he made the best of it with cheek filler but I think having 3/4 surgeries a week for 2/3 years caused him to have several pulmonary embolisms which one eventually killed him. R.I.P

I was also very shy and embarrassed about my cystic acne when I was young. I would have done all sorts of crazy things but thankfully did not have the money. What I would do is I would wear tons of make-up to cover up and it didn't work 😕
I'm not looking to get any plastic surgery, but if I decided to I really hope I find a doctor like Dr Gary. Someone with integrity, who knows different options and wouldn't just sell me the most expensive one or point out every single thing that could be fixed on my face and make me think I need far more work than I do.
The question is NOT why people do these plastic surgeries but who the hell are the doctors doing this?!!!!
The collab we didn't know we needed! Yes!!!! I freaked when I saw the thumbnail I almost couldn't believe it.
Dr gary. A year ago I had a terrible accident. My face was seriously smashed up, and my upper lip was actuallyhanging off rom my face, my teeth were stoved in and my nose was half hanging off too, my eyebrow area was also smashed up too. I'm in the UK. The top Consultant Moxio-facila surgeon looked at me, and talked to me like an idiot normal patient. I told him as best I culd to speak to me "properly". We decided against a general anaesthetic to do the work on my face, although it was my decision if I changed my mind. he said that many needles would have to go into various parts of my face to totally numb it, and then he's go to work with an assistant, but I had to promise to sit absolutely still for 3 hours, at least.
To cut a long story short, I look exactly like I looked before but with some very minor scarring on my face. I aksed my consultant top surgeon how he did it and knew what to do to "restore" me? He told me, that "IWe always have a pretty good idea of what you looked like before your terrible accident". I found that amazing.
Dr Gary, is that so? Do facial surgeons have some idea of what you looked like when you are smashed up? Wellmy surgeon did!
Are you limited to your UK health services? I would be surprised if they do much cosmetic surgery to restore looks, but would be limited to restoring functioning. Find a medical center in the USA that offers cosmetic surgery residencies and wite to see if there is a way to help finance your surgeries. Good luck!
@@trialgoddess Luckily, I have an American passport , so coming to the states to get my residual scarring sorted better would make me very happy and some dentistry on my front teeth too. which were never sorted out as they don't look too bad, but feel funny quite often. I can talk perfectly, but have trouble eating as my upper lip has been badly affected and doesn't work properly so I make a mess when I eat.
@@heathermcdougall8023 not a plastic surgeon but I do know that a trained eye can reconstruct faces based on bone structure. It’s a really cool science called soft tissue reconstruction.

I got covid like 7 month ago lost many hair . My hair back in the day was thick and shiny now it's thin with dandruff all round it's sad I'm just 20 .. Its depressing but you help me alot doctor ... You inspire me thanks alot doctor .. maybe one day I'll get my transplant in your clinic . ❤️
If you lost your hair because of the covid then they should all grow back naturally just the way they used to be. It needs time but it should grow back.
Try rosemary oil. I've got alopecia so I understand hair loss. Apparently it works, at least according to a neighbour and Amazon reviews.
My mom has covid long hauler symptoms, too. Not hair loss (but I’ve read that’s not uncommon), but for 10 months she said everything had a burnt smell and couldn’t taste anything for about 9 months. She says she can taste only certain things now, but not everything.

friend of mine is trying to get a hysto by claiming to be nonbinary and needing it for dysphoria reasons, she's at the end of her rope trying to get her uterus evicted lol
Feel your pain though, took me forever to get a reduction. I was a 4ft 11in 90lb titty goblin with I cups, like, just boobs on legs -- high school was a nightmare. Could get implants ezpz but getting some titty fat cut out? hell naw, jump through these flaming hoops!
Just because the damage isn't caused with intention doesn't mean it wasn't negligent.

I’m a fan of both you and Cassandra! I was so excited to see this collaboration.
To be honest she annoys me a little bit because she just says the obvious like “maybe they have psychological issues or maybe it’s a personal choice.” Like she says nothing. She never makes a stance. She manages to talk for minutes straight and yet nothing she says had any value. I think it’s because she doesn’t work in plastic surgery so she really doesn’t know enough to comment on it so she rambled. Maybe if we were talking about cosmetic stuff in her own field she’d be able to say something beyond “Maybe this… but maybe not. I don’t know.”

That is a mental health issue. And no doctor should operate in someone with body dysphoria or dysmorphia. And they wouldn’t if they had morals. But they usually just care about money. Not people.

It does seem that way, but it's really just just the way Cassandra naturally talks. She's that way on all her videos.

.....I've been subscribed to Cassandras' Channel for some time, and I found her to be so honest, also humorous, and sharing a lot of important information about Skin/ Life choices/ and such.... because so much is intertwined within those . What a nice surprise to see her on here, I actually just came across this video .... What I appreciate about both of you is that you are Respectful of those you are speaking of ( which is far from the P.C. thing. Ugh. Lol) ... Especially when speaking of Michael Jackson ( may he Rest in Peace) .... I always found him to be attractive the way he was, I never understood honestly ... even though he was trying to " separate himself in a way " like you said from the looks of his family ...; he was a handsome young man , there was nothing wrong with his looks ...and it was just ... so curious and kind of disheartening to me that he took that path . I enjoyed this Collaboration, and enjoy seeing that Miss Cassandra was speaking much more calm , composed, poised. Very nice job, Cassandra. A few more Collaboration videos might be interesting. 🙂😉✅️

Also, I suffered from bad acne since the fifth grade to the age of 50, at which point I became post menopausal and my acne suddenly went away. I, too, was bullied not only for my acne but for wearing makeup that I used to hide my acne.
I'm now going to subscribe to Cassandra's channel as well.
It's possible to listen intently to someone without having to continuously nod, change expression and gesture, in fact, just good eye contact with the occasional nod is often perceived as more genuine. I notice she exaggerates this behaviour in most videos, I'm interested to know what the reasoning is.

I've only seen a few of her vids, but,she is a serious talker! Whew. Basically, I think what you're noticing is how eager and chomping at the bit she is for her next turn to talk. Plus she's anxious that she'll forget to address some of the points he made, in her response. But I totallly agree that it's distracting and comes off as fakeness, though she might not intend it. The fact that she didn't interrupt him shows that she has obviously been trying to work on these habits of hers. I also think that she's infatuated with how she looks and she's trying to maintain a certain "face" for the camera.
I'd hate to just have my face there listening and doing nothing. I would be looking down so I can stop staring at the camera like, "please ignore more I'm listening to the speaker"
@@sunitamosesesq I have ADHD and definitely have to pay attention to my 'pressured speech'. I still learn at nodding and keeping my mouth shut, make affirmative sounds.😄 The plus side is that you have your responses at the ready, whilst sitting on your hands.😄 Because despite how it may come across when I interrupt: i am listening VERY intently. Sometimes i just have to be 'me' and will say;" I have to interject" People who know me well, will allow that and know when to stop me from going on a tangent. To others it comes across as 'motormouth-alert' and attention seeking/taking over a conversation.

I'm guessing during your residency and fellowship(s) plastic surgeons are not trained in the art of "animal aesthetic mimicry".....
Following the case of Chalene Johnson, fitness and marketing influencer, and now 70 + others who have filed lawsuits against Dr Mowlavi in California. Omg gosh! Now I do believe most board certified drs and practices to be up standing and provide good care but not all. I definitely think there is a dark side to plastic surgery. As for Jeffrey I know nothing of him, but his does seem to be one of going to cheap perhaps illegal provider. Was there a lawsuit for this?
He probably went somewhere cheap at the time. Jeffree has only been rich for a few years. His wealth came quickly.
10+ years ago (as he's said himself) he was living paycheck to paycheck, and struggling for money.

I just had surgery to remove a suspect growth. I do not understand anyone who has surgery done to themselves just for vanity. It is such an invasion on your body. I couldn’t eat foe 36 hours, as I threw up after the anesthetic. I don’t want this done again unless it is medically necessary. I know that “ medically necessary” includes mental health. It is such a fine line.
Exactly how I feel after 3 medically necessary surgeries, I'll never do it for aesthetics
