@@motorcyclecafe ha yea,,something about the sound,,once bitten can't get rid,,specially with a race can
I had the 1978 Yamaha RD400E.
Gl1000 in yellow, build date Oct 1975. Mine now, My favorite. I now own 6 Honda's and a 1956 servi-car. Gl1000 is still the best.
What even better than the Harley? 😉
What about the Fizzy(Yamaha Fs1e) I’m sure most of us started on one here in the UK
@@tonkie1131 I had to google that, never heard of it but.... I had one cant remember the model now, looked the same although mine was a 80cc i think.
I've had 9 of the bikes listed and you didn't list a few others I had like the Suz T-500
@@rachelthompson9324 4 min isn't long to list them all. In my opinion the titan 500 is the best 2-stroke ever made.
@@motorcyclecafe I loved the T-500. I liked it better than my Z-1 or rd 350s
No yds7 ?
Is it me or did 70’s motorcycles look more like motorcycles than the generations after?
@@billyd7882 its not just you mate!
RD250, 400/4, GT750, T500, all great!
All those were great bikes. Loved the 500 titan, one of the very best 2 strokes ever. I covered most of the big 2 strokes previously.
@@motorcyclecafe Titan pulled like a train.
I had a suzi RX7 250cc
Had an RD 250 disc rear for first bike ,shouda kept it .
@@notme4921 the 250 RDs were just as good as the 350. Sorry i missed that one mate.
@motorcyclecafe Didn't mean it like that ! It was the only bike I had in the 70's ,can't wait for the 80's vid !
We all wish that about at least one bike mate!
My first bike yamaha xs 360 .
@@marcwagner9369 from memory they had the squarish shaped tank like the RD 400 didn't they?
Hmmmm! 70's Yamaha FS1E, Honda TL125S, Suzuki GT185, Yamaha XS650SE special, Yamaha TY250 and Honda CB400-4.
@@C0zyDunt many great bikes in that decade!
@@motorcyclecafe Sorry should have said that was the bikes I had.
Where are the Triumphs? I had a 1970, 650 Triumph Trophy, best bike I ever had.😊
@@willg54 just not enough room buddy. I have covered quite a few triumphs in other videos on the channel. Love the late 60s Bonnie!
And what about the Yamaha 500XT and Yamaha SR500?
@@grizzlygrull covered the XT in a previous video and also the latest
@@motorcyclecafe Ok, sorry, I will have to watch your previous video... 😁
@@grizzlygrull not the previous its an older video 'ground breaking bikes' I think and the latest one
Z900 CB750
These were the best looking bikes of any period. Cant stand the new insect looking crap, all black, Matt colours
Had quite a few of these and some that aren’t mentioned. Fave bike of all time cb750/4 1977 in electric blue. Hard to believe but only 70 bhp which people laugh at nowadays
No triumph bonneville?
covered elsewhere on the channel
Well I had five of em
good to see someone keeps their bikes, I wish I did.
@@motorcyclecafe had. Now I only have a 78 jaw 1000 and a 72 Honda 350. Don’t ride them
You missed the best....Laverda 1000 Jota :(
Awesome bike indeed, sorry I only had 4 min to work with before the music ran out.
Anyone ever owned a Honda 500t. ? 72 or 73 I think mine was.

Honda CB 750 four.
Yamaha DOHC 750 - reliability issues - never heard that before
@@mark-anthonyconti684 yep they had a few issues very nice looking bike though
So where's the 650 Triumph Bonneville and 500 Daytona !!!
@@johnwalters5131 the bonnie is covered in detail in other videos on the channel
Yamaha really made a few butt-ugly street bikes back then. Loved them, though! I do remember a little TT 175 that I loved.
GREAT soundtrack, BTW, and thank you for making this!
Glad you enjoyed it buddy. It took a while for Yamaha to make a decent big street bike. The XS650 was their best bigger bike for quite a while. The 750 twin was a dud.
KZ400
The lost decade ?
Pretty sure that wasn't The Sweet...
@@ianbarnes961 no buddy it wasn't
Come on man!! Only 4 stars for the Honda CB750/4????? If you can't score the original superbike 10 out of 10, I need to find another channel.
@@Kysushanz the stars were just for a bit of fun , my ratings on bikes I've owned or ridden nothing more. The stars only went to 5, so 4 is pretty good.😉
Poor selection. Missed lots of good bikes from the era. The Yamaha XS750 D was superseded by the E model, which I owned. great bike but did have 2nd gear issue if you rode it like you stole it. Which I did... Easy fix however, which I only found out long after I traded it in for the mighty XS1100...
@@user-wl9wq7xj7i I suppose I did miss a lot seeing as I only had 4 min !
Who on earth is this tone deaf band slaughtering the legendary Ballroom Blitz???
no 750 kawee
That bike is covered in depth in some other videos on the channel
Love the 70 bikes 👍🏻💯
Me too buddy!!!
My first bike was a 1979 Honda CX 500...if i find one for sale I'd love to have one again.
They are a fantastic machine!
