Great video!👏👏
I went through a lot of nippers and the combination of Tamiya's (for parts removal) and Godhand nippers (for gate removal) work the best for me👍👍
This is a great combination especially if you’re really trying to make the blades on the Godhands last
This is basically the combo I use now, if you live in the USA check out the Taiwanese VRC Hobbies 115mm nippers, they make a great substitute for the Tamiya Sharp Point for only $12 on Amazon. I have only had mine for a few weeks now but they cut just like the old Tamiya Gold Star Sharp Point.
@@RiskyBRiskyB thank you for advice, just bought VRC Hobbies
I think all nipper test should be done in dark colored plastics, instead of white plastic. That's the real test.
That’s a solid metric to point out. I’ll add that in next time
Fact!
a good way of describing the god hands vs normal cheap thicc nippers is that normal ones cut a little then squish the rest of the plastic until it breaks, whilst the god hands actually cut all the way through, no squish
One of these days I’ll get around to do an update to this video 😅😅
I’m mad because I keep chipping plastic and not getting clean cuts, time to upgrade my nippers
@@ssjdavid god hand are great, usa gundam store ones are apparently nearly as good and they come with free shipping
@@ssjdavid cant go wrong with the GodHands
Nice video, need one with dark runners to see the results better.
Agreed, i think i may do an update to this video soon
@@GunplaUniversity Thank you, thinking of getting the DSPIAE, no godhand in the neighborhood.
You won’t regret the decision. Great nippers, there is also a new version out I hear. Haven’t been able to get my hands on a pair yet though
Thanks for this video, I just got myself a hg lupus rex set and my nippers broke and was about to use a nail nipper to cut the pieces
Glad I could help
I like my Valtcan prime nippers. They cut about 95% as well as Godhand, but are more durable and half the price
i like the valtcans too. didnt get a chance to try those until this past year. they are featured in the 2020 version of this video. this video is the 2019 one.
Which exact model did you get?
newbie: i thought we should use our hands to do it ???
lol well there are a few grades that you can build without nippers
@@GunplaUniversity im a stupid in past thou, i really used my hands to build many sets haha
I am watching all these cutter reviews to make sure I get the best bang for my buck, and your video is the clearest. :) that tiny god hand is actually aimed for children, with rounded points and shorter handle. Do you know anything about the PN-120? (not SPN). How does the PN (red handle) compare to the SPN (blue handle)? Thanks a million
Im really glad to hear that this video was helpful for you. Makes since what your saying about the small God Hand. Unfortunately i haven't had a chance to actually try the PN-120s but from what i hear in the community, the blades on it are a little more substantial. People ive talked to refer to it as being the "1st" cut the and the SPN-120s being the "2nd cut"
@@GunplaUniversity glad to know! I'll consider getting one of the godhand when I have the budget... Thanks!
Can i use my korean nail clippers?
Should use a black or dark green plastic for these tests cause stress marks show up a lot more and easier for us to see with extra contrast
Im still using my nipper that i bought year 2014 from an electrical store..already had it sharpened once last year..
wow thats good mileage on those. what kind?
The USA's are PN-120 (the red handle version), not SPN-120. Also the other red handle God hands you have are the kids PN-95 EX nipper.
im using godhand myself, the feel of cutting is like cutting tofu
interesting analogy lol. is that a good or bad feel for you?
@@GunplaUniversity definitely good, hahah, it’s very neat and soft
I have generic cutters and a nanye... those look reall good and reliable!
i havent tried the nanye but they look like theyd work really well
@@GunplaUniversity they work pretty good at the price they come in.😇
the first its a Mr.hobby Mr.basic Nipper?
why did u skip thru the snap sound of the orange nippers
its a bad review
Sorry this wasn’t helpful for u!!! Maybe I’ll do an updated video sometime
what's the best of single blade nipper in this vedio? and second, thrid!
If I absolutely had to rank them it’d look like this.
If Money isn’t a concern:
God hands
Dspaie
USA Gundam
If you’re more frugal:
USA Gundam
God hand
Dspaie
Thanks for the break down. Gonna start with the USAGundam Nippers then get the God hands.
np, not a bad choice. since this video came out usagundam has new ones as well. good luck
Gunpla University Oh yes! I got the 2.0s!
Whats the reason why you should cut closer to the gate than the actual part?
this gives you more nub on the part to work. cutting too close to the part you run the risk of catching the side of the part when cutting. some nippers dont cut exactly straight so cutting on top of the part can sometimes give the nub a divet of sorts as well. Short story is itll give you more room to do a proper numb removal on your parts. hope that helps.
@@GunplaUniversity ah ok, so after you cut the part you just use the same nipper to clean up the nubs?
I want to know that is the cutter that I bought from Mr DIY store a good cutter?
I want to know how the wisepro measure up
ill def try to get a pair for the update of this video
What would u guys recommend for a pg gundam phenex nippers wise cuz I'm thinking of getting one and dont want nub marks and I hear gold plat gundams have bad nub marks
Yea gold plated gunpla are notorious for having bad spots where to nubs were. The nipper from these that’s going to give you the cleanest cut is going to be the god hands. In general tho still expect some nasty little spots. It’s the nature of gold plated kits unfortunately unless the kit is undergated. Hope this helps!!!
@@GunplaUniversity yea it helps witch god hand would be best
@@fredkauffman6337 the king is the god hand model "spn-120"
why god hand is so expensive? you can literally buy a MG kit for that price.
yea its exhausting lol, really wish a lot of these things were cheaper to be honest ha
Is a bandai side nipper are good? Im new in building gunpla but cant decide which nipper should I get.
Maddy Muhat first off welcome to the hobby!!! 2nd off if your just starting, little trick for u, use some nail clippers to get you by until u can make a good decision on what nippers to buy. Personally any of the 3 single sided nippers seen here would do an amazing job for you. The Bandai side nippers are what I’d call good beginner nippers
Gunpla University how about the plato brand nippers?
@@maddymuhat8079 i bought plato last week..its ok for a beginner I guess and its cheap
Do you have recommendation for tools/nipper that great for biginner to start .or affordable one to use?
Yea absolutely, for someone brand new to the hobby. if your unsure of your level of commitment then check out the affordable mr hobby/ Tamiya brand nippers. if your in it to win it go ahead and go for the higher quality dspiae/God hand nippers. worth the money.
Wow thank you so much for the suggestion .😆😆I hope your channel keep growing🤩🤩i really appreciate it.
очень полезное видео, спасибо!
с удовольствием. рад, что это помогло
what is your mat called
What about Micro Marks?
micro marks? as in the white stress marks?
They are a brand of nippers/sprue cutters that I see in quite a few CZcams videos. I believe they are/make Fujiya tools as well.
Just add a dot com to micromark for their website and they are also on Amazon for around 30$.
Can I use nail clippers?
you definitely could but not ideal. ill be releasing the 2020 version of this video soon. look out for the updated one!!!
I’m sorry I meant nail nippers
The idea that those nippers will break doing the exact same cut but still on the runner is absolutely ridiculous. It makes no difference. Your literally cutting thru the exact same spot and amount of plastic.
are you referring to the godhands breaking on the runners but not on the gates?
😁🙏🏼 What about videos how you make some gunplas ? Thats will be awesome :D step by step videos
Been building a lot of kits recently. Stay tuned 😁😁😁
he cut out every single cut with dspiae, what a shill, hidding their flaws
