    Congratulations on your work and thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. I suspected it could be done this way but the turners tol me it was not possible. If I own a piece of steel into a cone shape, you should mark it with a marker pen first rows?. How did you do with the point?. Every detail is welcome. Thank you very much again!

    Question at big end 4in and the lenth looks on 8 inch hard to tell

      Hi,
      The length is not very important. Of course , too short is not gonna work well. This one is about 10 inches long.
      The diameter is up to you also. But i have big logs ( up 24 inches hard wood ) to split, so i needed a 4 inches.
      I had the the cone shapped part made at a machine shop and the hole for the shaft. I added a hub that we usually weld on gears. there's a keyway and set screws.
