We made Wooden Threads!

  • Hey everybody, we got a new tool in the work shop, a tap and die. We decided to make a wooden nut and bolt. It just sounded like fun, and is satisfying to play with as a fidget toy, but we also have some future ideas that you might want to stick around for.

      I was given this one a while ago so I don't know where it came from, But this is a similar product from Amazon.

    What size threader is that if you don't mind me asking?

      It's around an inch and a half, but at the moment I'm editing so I don't know the exact measurement without a set of dial calipers. Do you think those threats have a chance of lifting a truck?

      @@ybtypical Maybe if you made the nut thick enough so it would have a good amount of thread gripping the dowel. Possibly. Would be interesting to try though. I have a few threaders but not one that big. Want to get one

      I have seen people cut threads by hand because they couldn't bye a tap and die as big as they wanted. It is time consuming though.
